Tacos and margaritas were delicious! The atmosphere and jams totally made up for the Cubs loss the night we were there!

This is a fabulous taco joint. My boyfriend and I went yesterday before a movie — we were supposed to go across the street to Regal Webster but there weren’t any seats left, so we ended up going to the IMAX theater on Western. We needed a quick bite and drink, and Taqueria & Bar totally delivered! The highlights: 1) The food is amazing. The tacos are small, but they tell you this up front. They run from $ 3 – 6 each. Everything is handmade, including the tortillas which were BOMB. I got the lobster and mahi tacos and both were delicious. We also had elote and queso. 2) Service is SUPERFAST and friendly. The bartender was the only person taking orders, managing the bar, indoor and outdoor seating, and running food — she did a great job. Super communicative and quick but also personable. 3) Great drinks! I went for a Corona michelada and the guy had a mojito. Yum yum yum. It really is what it says it is: taqueria and bar. Nothing fancy, but dang is it good.

The waitress was awesome ! Lobster tacos were super fresh and yummy. I also enjoyed the pulled pork taco. I would visit again and sit outside with a margarita for sure.

The restaurant was really good in a great area, perfect for outdoor dining that is reasonably quiet. Went after a movie next door, it was a great cap to the evening! Margaritas are delicious, tacos are flavorful, will definitely be coming back/recommending to friends

Beware, I got super sick from this place. I didn’t even finish my tacos, the food was horrible & so was the service. I expressed my experience with the staff and was given a face and walked away from to charge my card. Maybe it was a bad time to eat there at 10pm. Either way I will never return especially after getting sick while trying to enjoy a movie.

Sweet place, great service. Come for a low-key bar with a variety of tacos that beats Doritos and peanuts any day, stay for the atmosphere and tequila /mescal selection. Whatever you order, also get chip & salsa, and then churros. Cuz why not? Margaritas fer dayz

Came here before a seeing Civil War, we order a pitcher of margarita. Typically I’m not a fan, but the margarita was pretty good, sweet and not bitter like usual. We had the chef choice tacos which were pork, short rib, and brisket as well as lobster and pork belly. My bf really liked the lobster and I enjoyed both the brisket and pork belly. I hate corn tortillas but theirs are homemade and are actually good and don’t fall apart! Only disappointment was that the tacos lacked the other ingredients such as pickled onion and such. Other than that, all good! Olé

Stopped late night on my bike ride home for some tacos, sat outside on a nice spring night. I ordered a tempura avocado and fish taco, as well as a margarita. My margarita was served as a pint, not too sweet and decent mix of tequila. Tortillas seemed to be handmade masa/corn, tasted good/good consistency. Both tacos were tasty & hit the spot. Fish taco was seasoned well, avocado taco could use some kick/hot sauce. Service was quick as well. It also seems to be a popular spot to hit before the movies(across the street). Good addition to the neighborhood(Pequods, Potbelly, etc.). Prices a dollar or two higher than similar Chicago establishments(eg. Big Star).

Perfect spot for dinner before a movie or if you’re in the area! really appreciate everything made in house and lots of great drink specials. chefs choice tacos are a great deal and the lobster taco was really great! also ask about the brown bag special– a crappy college style beer for only $ 2! also the michalada was great if that’s your style and I really appreciated that they were able to cut the elote off the cob for me! really legit spot.

I don’t write reviews often, the bartender here made me a personal drunk specialty of own creation. It had lavender syrup her makes him self and used mezcal which has this amazing smokey-ness to it. He took so much care and time making it and then sprinkled it with dried flower petals, he brought from home I believe. I love mezcal, no one has ever made a cocktail from it that I enjoyed. This man is an artist. We haven’t had our food yet and I’m coming back.
