Starbucks… they make delicious coffee that costs to much. That being said, I still buy it.

Let me just start out by saying that I love Starbucks and I’ve been to locations both local and international. I’ve walked into this specific location on Orleans about 3 times now and each time I am disappointed. All of the employees have this depressed look on their face and the wait time is a joke. Not very organized and not very friendly.

Honestly the worst Starbucks I’ve ever been to. It is the polar opposite of what you would think a Starbucks should be like. Every time I go, it takes FOREVER for them to get drinks out. Even if there is no line. And there is always about 5 people working, but only 2 actually doing anything. I kept torturing myself by going back because it is closer to my house, but I can’t take it anymore. I won’t be coming back again.

Terribly run starbucks. Two stars cause I love my drink. The one time I thought I wouldn’t be aging just waiting for my drink. There’s not a single person waiting in line. I walk straight up to the register as happy as can be for my caffeine fix. Yay. No line. I order, pay, walk a few steps forward. I look around and everyone sitting around, hanging out is empty handed. Wait a minute. I go back to the cashier, ask if all these people are waiting for drinks and she tells me yes. Nooooooooo!!! No matter how many people are there working or how many people are waiting for drinks, you will be waiting for a crazy long time. They don’t work together to get things done. No one ever helps at the bar. Starbucks Corporate come help!

Hate to be this person, but an entire wall of outlets has been out of commission for weeks, possibly months, which is very inconvenient for people who need to work for more than 3 – 4 hours and have less than stellar battery capability. It’s also pretty awkward having someone stare you down because he’s running low on juice and you’re sitting pretty with a working outlet. More frustratingly, the internet has been extremely spotty the past week or so. As in, can’t even load pages and by the time you do, you have to start over because the internet timed out again. It’s just very inconvenient for work-from-homers have to spend time rebooting pages or searching for better internet instead of getting things done. Although the staff is nice about it, every time I bring these concerns up, they kind of shrug and say«it’s on the list of things to be fixed.» Not super helpful.

Love this Starbucks. Not just because it is below our office, but the staff go the extra mile here and get to know you. I really enjoy starting a morning off here. While I am no stranger to the Starbuck chains, this store has some of the friendliest and honest employees.

I took a sip out of my Mocha and wanted to spit it back into my cup. I was expecting coffee and I received a water down version of hot chocolate. Yuck! I looked at the Barista and asked him if he made me a hot chocolate. He held a poker face and said, «I will make you another one!» He never admitted guilt if he screwed up but it was the worse cup of coffee I ever had in my life. The Barista did not get mad or try to give me a hard time… he just took it back and started making me a new one. I must admit that in 20 years of Starbucks this was the first time I ever sent a coffee back… so it was bound to happen one of these days! I grabbed my coffee and found the person I was meeting with. We had a great conversation and I never really had a chance to take in this location. I did notice that it was a little small and the shape of an L. What impressed me was when I approached the counter a half hour later the manager/owner looked at me and said, «Great catch on the coffee!» I looked at her and said, «Thanks!» Then I realized she was complimenting me on catching the Barista screwing up my coffee. So either this Barista is on probation for making bad coffee or I was on a episode of Hell’s Kitchen and Chef Ramsey was testing my taste buds. Luckily I passed!!! I had no idea the manager even heard my conversation with the Barista. That is a great manager because she knew what was going on even though she was not involved with the transaction. I can not give this place a low mark because the staff took care of my issue immediately and fixed my coffee. So I must thank you for that! Plus if you do not like this location there are over a hundred more in Chicago… just start walking in any direction and you will walk into one.

Had a makeover in February 2011. Staff seem to change a lot. Those who stay on the 6 am — 10am shift are friendly and there is one barrista(isn’t there always?) who seems to move at 4 times the speed of any other you have ever seen. Plenty of room to hang out.

Hands down, this is the best Starbucks I’ve ever been to, and it all comes down to fantastic customer service. I worked in the building for two years and though I was not a daily Starbucks visitor, the staff still knew who I was and what I liked to order. They’d tell me what I wanted before I even had a chance to tell them! Starbucks actually has wonderful double chocolate brownies, an item I liked to order often, but usually have to ask for, as the brownies are brought out later in the afternoon. At this particular Starbucks, the brownie was usually waiting for me, already placed in a small brown bag — sometimes with a note on it that said«for the chocolate lover!» Speaking of chocolate, I was a big fan of Starbucks’ signature hot chocolate(no longer on the menu, sadly). One of the baristas suggested I try an iced«hot» chocolate one warm spring day, and it was delicious, with lovely hints of vanilla, just like the real deal. She would often give me a grande even though I ordered a tall, telling me that the difference was in the ice. Now, I try to order iced«hot» chocolates at other Starbucks locations but usually get chocolate milk substitute instead. All of the employees are extremely friendly, helpful and efficient and that has made a world of difference to me. The food and drinks are exactly what you’ll find elsewhere, but the service is outstanding. Kudos to the manager, Tony, for such a great job.

I feel a bit guilty whenever I «check-in» here since I really do prefer supporting local businesses, but have to admit no one makes a non-fat latte with sugar free cinnamon dulce quite like Starbucks. Yeah, try saying that one 3 times fast… and while pregnant I’ve also had to specify half decaf. It’s a lot to remember, especially with pregnancy brain! Fortunately, I don’t have to remember my complicated order because the people who work at this Starbucks are so awesome that they remember it for me. They also remember what my husband likes to drink, my dog’s name and that I“m due to have a baby any day. Then again the huge stomach may be a big hint when it comes to the baby, but the staff here is pretty awesome. especially for a big chain like Starbucks.

So I know this may be very hard to believe but I have never actually bought anything from Starbucks until today! Let me explain, I am not a coffee drinker, I just am not a fan of the taste and I have tried my friends drinks which they claim do not taste like coffee and yet I still think they do. Anyways, I went to Starbucks on a meeting and felt I needed to order something so I decided to try the Nonfat Chi Latte.(I am not a tea drinker either, I normally just drink Diet Coke). Well let me tell you, the drink was great! I finally have a drink that I now enjoy from Starbucks which is nice, however when you look at the bigger picture I hope I will not get addicted like so many other Starbucks fanatics because realistically it is rather expensive for just a drink I think. The barista was extremely pleasant and our drinks came very quick. The location was a great place for our us to meet and it was not as loud as other Starbucks I have visited. We were easily able to find a table to sit at and overall I am afraid I might start visiting Starbucks more often than necessary.

5 Stars! Yes! It’s true! No, this isn’t a review of Starbucks coffee or calories or politics or consumer culture. Who cares, Starbucks coffee is better than most, you know what you get, and they’re better at it than most small shops. Remember when coffee used to come in styrofoam? Having frequented some similarly busy Starbucks coast to coast, I really have to commend the staff here. They’re all really nice — in other stores you’ll get one that’s great and the rest could care less, but here. they’re all great. They almost always smile, they hardly ever fuck up, and when they do, they always make up for it. Also, they remember my drink better than I do and they know their customers by name.
