Splendor Salon & Spa

I was going to this salon for years, and after relocation back in Chicago I gave them a call for a haircut.
I asked for Ana, but unfortunately my Ana (Ana with the twins) was not with them anymore, so they offer me new hairstylist which name was also Anna. Let me tell you… Splendor had to die for stylists, and I trusted every single one of them. So I said «Fine…Make me an appointment»
Haircut… simple haircut. Cut the damaged parts and give me some layers.
I end up crying, I was worried. My front part was disaster. Straight line, not even one layer… My whole left side was longer than my right.
She end up curling my hair but as soon as I touched the door I put my hair up.
I had 3months old highlights (I am pregnant) so she offered me Vegan and Pregnancy –Safe hair color in which I was interested. But… after this haircut I end up getting a color in another salon. Obviously I will get another haircut too but somewhere else.
I really liked this salon, I never cared about the price (some Unilocalers said they are overpriced) because You‘ll get what you paid for and I have never gotten bad haircut here, till now.
I am just disappointed. I wont drive 20 miles to give them another chance.
Anna was very sweet and friendly tho, I liked her personality alot. But she needs a little training, thats all.

I had hair cut with Ana and it was worst hair cut i ever had. I had an appointment at 3:15 pm. i came on time but they told me ana didn’t finish with her previous customer so is thats ok if ll i wait for like 10 min and i said ok no problem and can you imagine i wait their for 40 min after that lady who had hair cut with ana start yelling at ana cuz she was doing wrong and manager came to ana and talked with customer and manager start hair cut with customer and i was little nervous and hoping that its not gonna happens to me and then ana start hair cut but first i explained very well and i bring my phone and showed her picture of hair style which i would like to get its same picture which i was showing all hairstylist before. after that it took 25 minutes to f… My hair style and i was really shocked while i was leaving i asked does they have complain box they said no so i found Unilocal and i hope its not gonna happen to anybody else. I’m definitely not recommending anyone having mens hair cut at splendor with ana specially

nice atmosphere and Alex does «magic» with hair! She is very professional and gives great advice about hair.

The place is clean, but overpriced. The owner charged me for trimming my hair $ 60. Of course she told me about that at the end. I was very surprised and shock because I have long, straight hair and I ask to cut only ends to fresh up the hair. My advice to you guys would be — just ask them how much it will cost before you start anything with your hair — they make their own prices based on what they hear from you for example: you have a great job or you have trendy clothes on you, so you can afford whatever they tell you to pay.

I’ve been going there for years to get natural highlights-​I have fine dry hair that regular highlights were destroying. They offer traditional hair services but also natural /​organic services & products. Some employees are contracted & some work for salon. I’ve used a few for various services/​schedule conflicts, and from the clients’ end results I’ve seen, they all do a great job. Clean. Friendly. Accommodating. Lovely beverage cart.

I know that Splendor Spa is next to my place, but I never went there. I was always choosing the place where I knew the owner or any staff member in order to feel comfortable.
Lately I have seen the few pictures posted by the owner Alexandra on social media and I got the feeling that is the place I should go.
My hair needed rapid help and I was looking for the place where Organic products were used on daily basis, not when someone wanted to.
Anyway, I’ve asked Alexandra for opinion If I could have similar hair style to the one she have posted, and her reply was a surprise.
«Please come by for few minutes, I would like to see and check your hair structure and condition, then I could tell you.»
That was something uncommon. So I have decided to come.
We had a little chit chat about all details. She mentioned my skin, my eyes (it is called visage), and then she made her proposal regarding my next hairstyle. I liked that and I have set up the date.
I am not gonna write all the details, it would take me a lot of time. But you all should know that all staff there is friendly, sincerely concern and great professionals.
Alexandra took care of me not only hairstyle wise but we had great conversation about life, healthy habits and other great topics.
At the end the outcome was beyond my words.
If you are looking for place with organic products, great environment with people welcoming you with cup of green tea and great stories, you should go to Splendor Salon & Spa.

I had a walk-​in appointment for an underarm wax. The salon is very clean and the women are really nice. They offer a coffee/​espresso or water while you wait. The wax room is a small private room, very clean and comfortable. I do not recall the esthetician’s name and I am not sure what kind of wax she used but my hair didn’t grow back for about 3 months. There has only been one other place I have had a wax and it last for a few months, and I moved so I had to locate someone who was just as good. Lucky for me I finally did; I will definitely be back! Cost of underarm wax– $ 25
