Dr. Aleks is great! I easily communicate with her by email, if necessary. She is so caring and thorough, I cannot say enough. Love her and will recommend her anytime I get the chance!!!

I typically only write reviews if I have wonderful things to say, but ugh, I’ve had such an experience with this practice that I thought I should share in order to prevent anyone else having to go through the headache I’ve had with this office.
The doctor’s that work there themselves, are fine and nice, you’re not getting amazing service, but you’re also not getting 2 minutes with the doctor. That being said, the rest of the practice is not great.
I called and made an appointment the week before it was scheduled, however when I arrived, they were packing up saying that I did not have an appointment, fine no big deal, except they were pretty rude about the whole ordeal.
Following week I go in for the rescheduled appointment, which I get every year, however this one was the most complicated and fairly painful appointment I’ve had. Doctor was fine, asked her to refill my prescription (the only reason I went in the first place) she says fine, I’m on my merry way.
Based on my prior experience with this place and them not being super organized, I called the week my prescription was due for the refill I requested just to be sure it was called in. As suspected, it was not called in but was told the doctor would call it in. No big deal, happy to just have my prescription and the whole ordeal over with.
But that’s naturally not what happened. Got a call back saying the doctor did not remember agreeing to prescribe me and that she was not comfortable prescribing me my prescription despite the fact that all the test results came back fine, they’ve prescribed it to me before and she agreed to do it during my visit. I called back a few times to try and understand why this was, considering it was not brought up in my appointment and finally she agrees to give me 1 refill under the condition I go back to the doctor. Not happy at this point, but whatever, I’ll do it.
Go to pickup my prescription, and of course, the doctor called me in the wrong one.
They are clearly quite unorganized and honestly, fairly rude. Anytime I had to call their office on the phone (which was quite a few times), they were not very helpful and seemed irritated that I was bothering them. Needless to say, I will not be back.

One year on and I’ve needed Dr Aleks help on a few more occasions, including for the aftermath of being hit by a taxi on a crosswalk! After quite a few visits to her clinic I have to say that she is by far the best family doctor I’ve ever had. She is really focused on the patient and always wants to provide the best possible care. When I’ve needed referrals for specialist help, she’s got me in to see the right people in double quick time. Her support team is also outstanding and always in good humor. I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Aleks and her staff! Being new to Chicago I was nervous to get a new primary and start my «adult» life. They made everything so easy for me, with their flexibility and fast communication via e-​mail, I feel like they are all truly working to make me as healthy as I can be! My commute is near an hour on public transportation to come to this office, and I do so happily. Look no further, this is the place for you and your family.

Dr. Aleks is awesome. She’s incredibly personable and down-​to-​earth. She’s very easy to talk to, and she’s also very knowledgable and thorough. The office is extremely clean, friendly, efficient, and prompt. You will be in great hands here!

When I had Blue Cross Blue Shield Dr. Alecks was the very best! She has the bedside manner of a doctor that you wouldn’t even be able to dream up. She was always extra patient with me and made sure that even the smallest of my concerns were all addressed and taken care of. She was always on top of everything and kept me up-​to-​date on all my results and meds. She’s super open-​minded, caring and considerate.
Imagine how heart-​broken I was when I found out that my new insurance did not include Dr. Alecks in their network xP Have not been able to find a doctor that met Dr. Alecks’ standards yet. Hopefully my next insurance will let me switch back!

I think this is positively the best place in the city. To give you an idea of how great it is; I live on the North side and drive or take public transportation to the South side to see Dr. Aleks Orkiszewska (Dr. Aleks). She used to be a mere 3 blocks from my home. However, I find her skills vastly superior to any other family practice doctor I have seen in the past fifteen years, and that says a lot. So, I was not going to lose her due to her relocation. She is affiliated with Thorek Hospital, which I have also had good experiences with as well (for testing, etc).
Additionally, Ken the Office Manager and «Go-​To-​Guy» is the nicest person and the perfect front desk persona extraordinaire. From paperwork to assisting Dr. Aleks he is definitely a modern renaissance man.

Recently, she has also added aesthetic cosmetic procedures to her practice. And with her feather-​light touch, (trust me on this one) She is definitely THE Doctor you want wielding a needle near your face. I definitely do not have this type of thing done frequently, but I have had it done in the past, so, I do have something to compare it to RE: Pain factor. Now, when she said «Little Pinch» that’s exactly what I felt. In the past when others have said that, Well, I thought I would faint and maim them after reviving.
So, not only is she a first– class doctor, but also she is a super cool person. Now that combination, I believe, is a rare commodity.
She will be «my doctor» for as long as I remain in Chicago.
