Kaleigh and her team did a bang up job. My daughter’s wedding was at Moonlight Studios this weekend and we relied on Sound Investment for our lighting, draping and sound needs. Moonlight Studios is a blank canvas, so Kaleigh provided suggestions on how to soften the space and give it that special«glow.» She provided lighting monograms of the happy couple for the large wall and also assisted in the setting up and design of our Kilroy’s on Kirkwood Bar area to attract all the IU Hoosiers to play bags and beer pong! Sound requirements for our band, Indigo, were also completed by Sound Investment, which is next door to Moonlight, making it easy and efficient. They are true pros.

My sister is an interior designer and planned our Sept. 22, 2012 wedding at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. She created extensive décor plans with custom and personal touches that Sound Investment pulled off in a spectacular manner. The dining/reception area looked magical with chandeliers, strings of café lights and pin lights on the table centerpieces. We also had three gobo lights to decorate the stark white walls that were beautifully captured in our best man and matron of honor toasts photos. Sound Investment hung an arrangement of open wooden frames in the museum’s lobby, set up a sign post vignette and a welcome display that featured three twinkle-lighted birdcages and a candlelit walkway. I learned after the fact that the Nature Museum obstructed Sound Investment’s décor setups due to a miscommunication, but the team worked triple-hard to set everything up despite the museum’s disorganization. They also brokedown all of the décor at the end of the evening and did not break a single item. They are amazing professionals and we can’t thank them enough for all their hardwork.

I am not an event planner, not even close. But I did recently decide to undertake planning a fundraiser in the West Loop, which left me in need of sound equipment(microphones, speakers, etc.). Thankfully, a PR/event planner friend recommended Sound Investment. And based on my experience, I would too! Reasons why I like Sound Investment: 1) From the get-go, they were such a pleasure to deal with. Quick response time, easy back-and-forth of info, and NO drama! This is key… for someone who doesn’t organize events for a living, I heart anyone that makes the process easier! 2) Their guys were well dressed, polite, friendly and eager to help(and very easy on the eyes, which is always nice). 3) They set up quickly(about 30 min) and took down their stuff just as fast. They offered to hook up music if we had any, and their soundcheck was quick and unobtrusive during the set up process. 4) They offered helpful advice and insights re: flow of the crowd, best sound, etc. Priceless! It helped our event go off without a hitch. 5) PLUS, they gave us a discount because we’re a nonprofit! How great is that? All in all, I would *definitely* recommend them to anyone who needs sound/video equipment for an event!
