A few friends and I came here for lunch and had a very tasty meal. Décor: They have the interior designed to reflect(what I imagine) a quasi-Italian market, which is cool. They could do a bit of a better job though, compared to other Sopraffina locations. There are basically four options: salad, pizza, pasta, or sandwich. Each has its own line but they move rather quickly. There are a bunch of tables if you want to stay and eat and the place doesn’t get too over-crowded during the lunch hour. Bathroom: I didn’t use it during this visit. Staff: The sandwich maker guys and the cashiers are pretty friendly and very quick with their respective tasks — they help move people in and out quickly. Food: I’ve only had the sandwich station and the pizza station, so that is all I can comment on: The line never gets too long and the menu is right there for easy choice. I went with the Special of the Day and it was very tasty. They ran it through the oven, which essentially heats it up and melts the cheese, but the toppings still kept the taste. Additionally, I had a pizza(also the special of the day, also ran through the oven to warm it up — very tasty!) and a water(they have big cups for free water! NICE!) Value: The portions are a big small given the prices… I’d like to see the sandwiches a bit larger. However, I think it has to do with the fact that all the meat is hormone free, etc. So, I get it. It’s a nice change to know you’re not ingesting a bunch of that crap. My friends are huge, HUGE fans of this place and I like it a lot as well. It’s in the standard rotation and I will be back many more times.

NWOY: Never Waste an Opportunity to Unilocal. I attended a group training at my employer’s downtown office. During an ice breaker activity, I contributed the fun fact about myself that I’ve written 1,000+ Unilocal reviews. I got a few giggles. A few stares. A lot of «whaaa?» But me? I spied the name«Sopraffina» on our catered breakfast and lunch and knew I had to write a review. I don’t know all of Sopraffina’s offerings, but for breakfast I had an asiago, or some kind of cheese, bagel with cream cheese. The texture was more like a loaf of bread than a bagel, but it was still good. We had a spread of sandwiches, chips, salad, and cookies for lunch. The sandwiches were delivered so that we had to make our own, so I made a sandwich with a ciabatta roll, turkey, and gouda cheese. It wasn’t anything fancy and kind of reminded me of average hospital or cafeteria food. The cookies are HUGE, and you better believe I ate two of those. I tried the Peanut Butter and the Oatmeal. The cookies are so good that you will want to deviate from traditional chocolate chip. But there are SO many options in Chicago, especially the Loop, so I can’t say this is anywhere near the best lunch option whether you’re dining in, taking it to go, or getting catering. It was okay, but I know I’ve had better.

I’m just not a fan. There are a lot of food options, but none of it is really good and it’s slightly expensive for what you get. The pastries are dry and lack flavor; nothing better than what you’d get at a grocery store for half the price. I’ve had their caprese sandwich too, which you would think would be difficult to mess up. Well, it tasted overwhelmingly of pepper. It was just plain awful. Overall, I won’t be back. I’d rather get a pastry at Starbucks or a sandwich from Potbelly’s.

I like the variety and the quality of food here. I normally get the wild salmon on a bed of greens. I’ve also had the soup but the crème de la crème is the hot chocolate. Positively delightful.

They only get my omelette order right about 30 percent of the time. I mean… mushroom, ham, & Swiss. What’s so hard? Sigh… They have really good coffee and reasonable omelette prices but why can’t my order ever be correct 100 percent of the time?

Food: They have a lot of food options. You can get salads, pizza, pastas, breakfast foods, side items, salmon, chicken, etc. Cost: Pricey. The breakfast options recently went up in price, as one example. Staff: Most of the staff is nice and helpful. Some of them are just there and don’t really provide that friendly customer service. Healthy & inexpensive option– Cold salmon over greens with garlic thyme dressing. Under $ 7.00.

Love this place! Best tossed salads in the area! Their prices are a bit high, otherwise I might had been in there everyday. Their beef tenderloin is delicious! And, I’m not much of a red meat girl. The salmon is also very good. Their small salads are all ok, nothing to write home about there. The sandwiches were always very disappointing. Way too overpriced, and mostly just bread. I LOVE their sugar free lemonade. Very addicting! And, for a treat in the fall they have these amazing pumpkin bars! If you like pumpkin, be sure to try it.

Another of the many places that reside within 200 feet of the spot I’ve worked for the last 8 years. I would say I’ve eaten a Hilltop salad with chicken, no cheese from here at least 2 days a week for last 4 years. But mostly because its one of the easiest and best options for healthy food in an area almost completely lacking in them. Insider tip: Maria makes the best salads. Generally she is the woman on the left if you are looking at the salad station. She is also the nicest. If ordering from either of the other girls, I would recommend asking for one scoop of dressing(or light on the dressing) or you’ll be drinking a sugary salad shake by the end.

Had read online via vegan forums that I would be able to get a pizza there made up without cheese. Walked all the way there, but it turns out they won’t make me one. The guy lazily pointed to the already made pizzas that have been sitting there all day waiting to go in and couldn’t be bothered to go into the back, take one minute, and ask the kitchen to make one without cheese. Not vegan-friendly, and actually pretty bad service in general.

Pumkin cream cheese rolls are sooooo good, they will only be around a little longer! Pumkin cream cheese rolls are sooooo good, they will only be around a little longer! This can be a hit or miss depending on what you get. The salads and sandwiches are really good. However, the pasta sounds like it will be good, but is only mediocre. Same for the pizza. For a lunch place it isn’t the cheapest but it isn’t outrageous either. Is gets really busy a little after noon so I recommending going at 11:30 or 1:00. There is a lot of seating but fills up quick(a little out door seating when good weather) And if its the fall, seriously you need to try the pumpkin cream cheese rolls(they are by the drinks)

Oh Sops, you changed your soup bowl thus alienating me and other soup customers alike. Now I get less soup and nearly burn my palms off while walking back to my office. I’d put it in a bag to save my flaming hands, but maybe you’ve noticed the new bowls don’t fit. Convenient. Really. In all fairness, I wrote Soprafinna about my dissatisfaction over this very topic. As a customer frequenting their establishment 3+ times per week, I felt they’d want to know that this change would greatly affect that number. While«more economical and better for the environment» are good reasons to change bowls, my hands shouldn’t burn as a consequence, nor should I be paying the same amount for a smaller portion. Now I mostly visit when weather prevents me from leaving the building.

I kind of feel like Sopraffina is way overrated… every time I get a panini it is so soggy in the middle, I think it may be since they are already made and then toasted to order. Salads are OK but I think a bit overpriced for what you end up with.

«Caesar Saaahhhhlhaaaaaad!!!» Every time I walk into this place that’s all I hear. The voice of a mexican man yelling/asking out«caesar salad» to hungry customers. I have fell victim to his tone of voice a countless number of times in the past. I have switched salads since then and now my new profound love is the Mediterranean. Romaine lettuce with cucumbers, peppers, kalamata olives(nix the olives please — blech!, tomatoes, onions, feta cheese and Athenian-lemon dressing. Quite savory I do declare. Aside from their salads, the do also offer whole pizzas, half pizzas, pasta, soups and paninis. However, due to the quality of the food I must warn you — the stuff is a bit overpriced. BUT tasteful nonetheless!

So their food is really good. I will give them that… but its a bit too expensive for what you get. The wait for it was also a bit long… I should have just got a personal pizza like my friends. Those came out quick.

It’s a bit expensive, but it’s tasty. The salads are made fresh, and are full of flavor. Sandwiches too are busting with goodness, though I’ve found during some of the busier times they’re a bit less careful and you end up with all the onions mashed onto one half of the sammy, but hey… it’s still tasty stuff. Try not to get into an ordering lull — check the signs for the specials and new sandwiches. They change it up frequently, but you have to pay close attention to notice.

Excellent salads, excellent bakery. The individual pizzas and the pasta dishes are great as well. It’s never too busy here and you are in and out with a quickness. The only problem I have with this place is it is fairly expensive for lunch. A good place to meet an associate or that special someone for lunch, but at the prices compared to other places that are almost or just as good, I only come here once every couple weeks. Be sure to grab an orange at the checkout line!

Sopraffina is a couple hundred feet from my office and provides one of the better quick salads in the loop. Their veggies are consistent and the dressings are all pretty decent. The service is consistently fast(just don’t get behind the poor admin ordering salads for their whole office… tip: look for people in the salad line holding post-it notes or small pieces of paper!) The antipasto bar is also delicious. To be honest i have never tried the sandwiches, pizza or hot food, but I have only heard good things about them. The one really baffling thing about Sopraffina is the pricing of the salads. The pricing is inconsistent and does not make much sense to me. In the end, Sopraffina is a bit more expensive than it’s competitors, which makes it a tough choice in these times. Overall, it’s worth the money though.

I’ve only been here once, but I really enjoyed it. I ordered a half sandwich, chips, and an iced tea, which I felt was priced pretty reasonably for downtown lunch. The sandwiches are all pre-made but grilled when you order them, so I’m not sure how flexible they are in terms of omitting mayo, for instance. I liked the wooden trays and nice tables and chairs. Yeah, the place is pretty much cafeteria style, but it *feels* a bit more upscale. Overall, I’d say it’s a four star place, but I give them an extra star for having quite literally the best iced tea I’ve ever had in my life. Fresh brewed and flavored, I could have sat there and drank it all day, or until nature called.
