I love this place! I’ve been here a few times and every dish I order I am never disappointed. The menu is simple — two sides pages of pictures of every dish. One of my favorite dishes is the potato noodle spicy soup, I am not a fan of spicy dishes but the soup is a blend of heat and vinegar which makes it very enjoyable. Honestly, every dish I’ve eaten here I have enjoyed and that keeps me coming back for more. The price point is reasonable for all the dishes. I guarantee you will make this place your favorite as I did.

Yep. The reviews are accurate. I just tried it this afternoon because of the fine Unilocal reviews, and it was as good as advertised. I had what they call the«fried» clams, but they were not the kind of breaded fried clams you would get at the beach in New England. They were fried in a wok in the shell. They came with some delicious black bean sauce and white rice. They were great, and only $ 6. The place is just one of many stands in the basement of a rundown food court. You would never think a place like this has such good food. It’s a must try, however.

Hands down best restaurant in Chinatown… Found out the owner was a well known chef in Cheng Du…

Chinatown’s best kept secret… for now. You can walk in with $ 10 and literally to filled to the brim after you’re done. The basement also offers other dining options, but snack planet is the anchor IMO that holds this all together with their quality and selection. My friends and I come here at least once every other week.

Got five dishes for four people with complimentary rice bowls per person for less than $ 10 per person. what?! Also, this is the most authentic Chinese food I’ve had in Chicago, it’s so good. They specialize in spicy food but I’d suggest getting at least one non spicy dish or tons of milk/yogurt to help you through it if you can’t hold your spice. I highly suggest the spicy chieken and pig ears. This place and the whole food court is highly underrated.

Hidden little gem! My mom absolutely loves this place. They have traditional Chinese dishes that aren’t found at many of the restaurants here in Chinatown. For example, spicy crawfish and pork blood dishes. The prices are great and the chef is very nice. I can’t wait to go back and try more!

The food here is spicy, delicious, and very reasonably priced! I greatly appreciate how my order of garlic stir-fried pea sprout leaves were not overcooked. My favorite is the spicy pig ears. I have tried several other dishes and they were all very fresh and tasty except for the the seafood hot pot, which the shrimp and squid were a bit overcooked. Nonetheless, I will come back to try more dishes next time!
