The service was fast and people were friendly. The meat Arancini was the best I’ve had. The spinach one was alright. Best Cannoli I’ve had so far.

I need to voice my experience with The Sicilian Bakery. I had a medical issue in which I had lost 30lbs and my family was worried about my health. The credit goes to the bakery in which I buy ½ pound of cookies daily & started to gain my weight back again. It seems to be my favorite place to visit everyday. Friendly people, selling fresh bakery goods. My hats off to the entire staff. Its been a great experience thru my eyes. I hate Mondays because your closed. See you tomorrow for my fix. Keep up the great work. Your cookie monster from down the street.

Everything in here is Great. One of my favorites, if I can get up early enough to get it as fresh as possible in the italian rice balls… It is a great way to start the day

Read the reviews and decided to give it a go. The folks working there were welcoming and explained some of the baked goods to me. I had a slice of tomato pizza, which was tasty, but kind of cold. I think sandwiches are the real specialty. Unfortunately, I made it in a little too late to have one since they stop making them at 3:30. The cannoli, though, was delicious. Again, I’m not an expert, but I really enjoyed the crunch texture of the shell. Prices were very good for such quality! I’ll be back when I can brave the walk in the cold again!

The people here were super nice, and the pastries we got were quite good. But the pizza was… it wasn’t pizza. It was a piece of bread with tomato and cheese on top that had been sitting in a display case for Lord knows how long, and which they re-heated to the point of luke-warmth. Maybe we were wrong to trust Unilocal that this is a place that serves pizza, since it seems to primarily be a bakery, but don’t make that same mistake!

My husband I catered a sweet table for our wedding through Sicilian Bakery and had a very positive experience. The bakery was helpful and worked with us to develop a personalized sweet table with Italian sweets(cookies, cannoli) and Polish sweets for my family(kolaczki.) The bakery also delivered the sweets to my wedding venue for an incredibly low price. On the day of the wedding, our sweet table looked and tasted amazing. Thanks Sicilian Bakery!

Had my daughter’s bday, cake from here… absolutely amazing!!! Not overly rich – we had choc/yellow cake with custard and strawberries – all my guests including the kiddos were asking for 2nd’s! I will be back! I love my sweets, but nothing that is overly rich, and they know how to make it perfect, no heavy frosting, soft cake, just delightful – this place will not let you down!

Ordered my daughters confirmation cake from here. Paid $ 65.00 for a ½ sheet and when I went to pick it up my eyes probably fell out of the sockets(I’ve attached a picture). Everyone asked me if a 5 year old did the writing, live and learn my friends., live and learn. 4 stars for taste, 0 stars for appearance.

I utilize this bakery for all my kids birthdays. The owners are very friendly and have made my kids happy with cakes others have refused to make. This is my one and only bakery, and the best tasting cakes in chicago. The cake is moist the icing is just right, not too sweet and the service gets a 10 out of 10.

The sfincione is excellent. In particular, the tomato variety was top-notch. We also got an iris, which is like a breadcrumb covered bombolone filled with sweet ricotta. It was a little doughy, but something that I would definitely get again. Easily one of the top tier Italian bakeries in Chicago.

My dad always gets desserts from this bakery so recently we supplemented the pastries at our wedding venue by adding mini canolis, tiramisu, and napoleons. So good, all the guests loved them!

This is the BEST bakery in Chicago for just about everything Italian. The cannoli, the cookies, the foccacia — it’s ALL good! La migliore Pasticceria a Chicago. I cannoli sono buonissimi ed anche le pizze e le foccacie! MMMMMMMM

Nice little place I wish I’d known about sooner. Reminds me of L’appetito downtown, only smaller. Prices are fair and relatively inexpensive. Spinach arancini was delicious, as was the eggplant/mozzarella/salami panini. I just wish the latter’s ingredients were also warm like the nice toasty bread they were served on. So many treats to choose from, but I only had the pumpkin slice and a couple of the glazed lemon cookies – both tasty as well. I’ll be back.

A lot better than previously thought going in. Location can be tricky at first since it occupies a small storefront in a strip mall. They make some really good cannoli’s here while the shell was crispy, not mushy and the filling had a lot of flavor and I never had sfogliatelle that was so amazing since I dislike it in general. Prices for the pastries varied but were around $ 2 each. Pretty good pizza bread as an 8″ went for $ 3.50. What a great find!

Sadly, I wish I could have had the same orgasmic reaction to the Sicilian Bakery’s offerings like some of the other reviewers, but to me, everything was just… OK. I guess it may have to do with my exceptional pickiness or my Sicilian heritage, but there are certain things I just insist upon having knock me out and sadly, Sicilian Bakery wasn’t doing it for me. The cannoli are small and thin, which I could deal with, but the overpowering sweetness was a real turn off. It was like the sugar coated your mouth to the point where you could taste no other flavour, except sweet, sweet, sugary sweet. Have you ever wanted to become an instant diabetic from just one bite of a dessert? You just might after one of these! The bread I bought was fresh and decent, but without much of a crunchy crust. The tiramisu was a soggy nightmare. It was soaked in something, probably just sugar water, since there was no other discernable taste to it aside from the heavy, waxy whip cream topping. The one thing that did please me was the iced lemon cookies(Anginetti). These were a perfect size, light, airy, and perfectly flavoured. Not too sweet, not too bland. I am glad these were so good, because I have to make a second trip here. When I got there it was less than an hour before they were to close and I noticed they sell pizza, sandwiches and focaccia to order. Of course it was too late that day but it still intrigues me to see how good these are. OK Sicilian Bakery, you have a second chance. Now get ready to work your Italian magic and knock me out!
