Samah Hookah Lounge

Well, the place décor is very nice and the hookah is not bad. But i was freezing while i was sitting at that place, the heat didnt work and when we asked abt it, they said it was broken, come on guys broken heating system in Chicago !!!
Beside that, they had a fixed minimum charge for each person 10 $ wether u smoke or not, for me i found it very unreasonable … Over all experience wasnt very satisfying

I got excited to see they had tangiers but the server said «they were all out». Which made me think the guy had it and didn’t know how to pack it properly. So I got double apple instead which is hard to mess up. Instead of a grommet to seal the bowl, they used foil? Paper towel maybe, but foil seemed so amateur… Hookah was gone 20 minutes in with a terrible pull from a super small hose, and spent about $ 26 with tip for 10 puffs and a soda. Not worth it. I had to ask every time for coal, and it was hard to get his attention when he was watching the tv.

Came here with 5 friends, made a reservation. We waited twenty minutes before the waitress appeared. She wasn’t very friendly, We attempted ordering and were told that most of our choices were out of stock. Coals were never changed, and one flavor tasted like a cleaning agent. At one point after getting a new flavor, our hookah stopped pulling. Took ten minutes after we asked for her to come. She didn’t check on us throughout the night, and was rude most of the time when she did. Giving it two stars because the private areas are really cool and comfortable. I’ve had better experiences here but I doubt I will be back.

My first hookah in Chicago and the guy made it the best so far, I’ve been to more than 10 hookah places around Chicago but this one is still the best.

Its simple hookah place .
The heads for the hookah are very small and after like 15 minutes you can taste the burnt hookah flavor .
The service was rude. No menu was given to us of the flavors and we were not even told what they had .
The charcoals were not changed while we were smoking and when we paid the bill and were about to leave, a new charcoal was put.

A friend of mine has recommended going here several times. We would try to make plans and go here, but we weren’t sure if we would have to reserve a spot. We finally went on a Saturday night.
Finally, we had a set amount of people confirm that they wanted to go a hookah bar. My friends and I usually go to hookah bars that do not need a reservation so this was fairly new to us. I’m still not quite sure if reservations are needed, but we still placed one. We had a reservation for 6. We had a spot near the back. As soon as my friend and I arrive, I was shocked to see the set up. It wasn’t like the usual hookah bars we would go to. It had more of a chill and comfortable set. Taking off your shoes was optional. We had a couple of flavors. Sweet melon, cherry, blue mist, etc. All of the flavors were good. 10 bucks a person is definitely worth it on top of the drink. I felt EXTREMELY comfortable when we sat down. I didn’t feel like leaving because of the whole ambiance. I will definitely be back with more of my friends.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I just had a terrible experience at this place which is sad because up until the end of my evening, I was having a nice time! I had just gotten a hookah refill about twenty minutes earlier when the woman who worked there told me that she was going to close in fifteen minutes. This was at 1145 PM. When I pointed out that their hours go until 1 AM, she said that when all the customers are gone, she is allowed to close. Wtf? Was I not a customer… a customer who had JUST paid for a refill that I then barely got to enjoy!
When I pointed this out, she said that they have a 2 hour limit and I had been there for over 2 hours, which she made no mention of to me for my entire stay or anyone else for that matter, as everyone I saw was there for over 2 hours. It was very disrespectful to treat a customer as if they are unimportant and kick them out just because it is no longer crowded… no way to do business. I felt strongly that I deserved a refund for the refill I had just gotten, but didn’t even bring it up as I was uncomfortable and just wanted to leave. Its so sad, because this place is right by my house and the atmosphere is actually pretty nice, but I definitely won’t be returning.

I would leave negative stars if possible. No idea what the favors are, the pictures aren’t how it looks inside, waste of my time, person in the next room talking on the cell phone. The person couldn’t explain why the pictures didn’t match the establishment, couldn’t work the credit card machine, paid cash, then went back cause they charged my card & after taking my cash, cause I didn’t have time for him to figure out the CC machine… Calling the bank tomorrow because they won’t pay me back my cash or CC charge. I just need one charge refunded or my cash which neither happened. Idiots. First & last hookah experience.

On the one hand, I had a Nelson Mandela blackberry blend, a ice tea/​lemonade, and a spinach pie. On the other hand, I doubt that Mandela was more disrespected in prison. This hookah bar is in my neighborhood so while I appreciate that it is a typical example of a hookah bar with nothing missing would it hurt to redecorate it so it isn’t so ugly to spend time in. The host, if that’s what you call him, needed to be taught a point: a customer who spends the kind of money hookah bars charge can smoke until the hookah runs out of tobacco.

Deon provided great service. He’s humble, down to earth, accommodating, and friendly. We will back to see him and we enjoyed our evening. Many thanks!

As a hookah enthusiast, I was excited to try this hookah bar for the first time on a recent saturday evening. Myself and 2 friends came in and were led to one of the back curtain rooms with floor seating. And there we sat. For about 25 minutes. I eventually had to go up front to put in a hookah order. The employee admitted to «forgetting about us,» but we let it go. Our hookah arrived and we got to smoking. Long story short, the bowl was seriously overpacked and our hookah tasted burnt and harsh. Coal changes were also few and far between.
Prices were average for a hookah bar like this, and the bar itself was nice, but the bad service and poorly made hookah didn’t make for a good experience.

Okay, so this place is nothing like the pictures seen online.
However, it’s a very chill and small place to relax with friends. We tried the pineapple express. Great flavor!
My only complaint is that it took them forever to greet us, and forever to bring the hookah. The service is okay.
Im not sure if I’d come back.

Great Shisha in here. Great authentic décor and scenery. Two TV’s going along with music too. They also have water as well as other drinks and tea & coffee.
30+ flavors to pick from, the menu has a slew of options to pick from as well.

Absolutely fucking ridiculous! Our waiter was the worst. Only adjective he could use to describe the flavors was fruity. And he couldn’t make half of the flavors. The package came with 5 flavors and 5 drinks. Over 2 hours, we got 2 flavors and our drinks right before our reservation was over. When we went to order our other flavors he brought the wrong one. First n last time here…

This was a delightful hookah experience from approaching the counter all the way to paying the bill. I ordered one of the chocolate/​caramel/​cocoa flavors and it was AWESOME. The hookah tasted great. Although I may not be a hookah conosoisseur yet, I’m approaching that status and I could tell that they weren’t using cheap, low-​grade Egyptian tobacco. The hookahs themselves seemed pretty sturdy although they might have been the cheaper Egyptian hookahs. The staff was smart enough to make sure the bowl at the top was covered the entire time and I received timely refills of my coal. The hookah and service here were both excellent.

Came here twice, both times with parties of 4.
The service was good, the hookah was good and the vibe was nice.
I will be back.

I think I may have found the best hookah lounge in the city. *swoon*
I came here to meet a girlfriend for catching up and smoking up. One of the employees, Adam, was as kind and welcoming as he could be. He informed us that there is a two-​hour sitting limit on Friday and Saturday nights, but since it wasn’t terribly busy that night, he didn’t hassle us. My friend and I ordered a sweet, fruity mix (shame on me for not remembering the name) and settled in to the comfy pillows, semi-​private area (closed off by curtains), and faux fireplace. We truly enjoyed ourselves, and Adam didn’t miss a beat. Just when we were about to ask for more coals, there he was with a fresh hot one. And… AND…I was truly appreciative when he was able to split our order in half and we could pay with credit cards. Believe it or not, I’ve had either one or both of these problems at other lounges.
This is right around the corner from the Loyola red line stop, so for me, coming back will just make it that much easier. Thank you, Samah! You WILL be seeing me again!

I will not lie. I will not lie. I think I just went to the best hookah lounge in all of chicago. I’ll challenge anybody to show me a better place.
The atmosphere was the BEST! Every party had a private enclosed area surrounded by curtains. You could literally stretch your legs out and prop yourself up with your elbow while smoking some really good shisha. I believe we had Aladdin’s Lamp and the Cubby Bear. Oh they were so good! :D
I must have been inebriated or super buzzed but wow the hummus and the pita was freakin amazing!!!
To those at Loyola, you are such lucky people that this place is so close to you. Jealousy takes over//

Great hookah, interesting drink selection, big flavor list.
Problem was with service. Our waiter was INCREDIBLY nice and helpful in every way, but noted it was a «1 man operation» so he was running around all night. Major delays for drinks and even our first hookah. Our package included 5 flavors, but only got through 4 over the course of 3 hours.
I get that it’s a small business and that hiring more help is tough, but on a Saturday night where every table and room is occupied, you simply have to have more than one employee.
