Sweet restaurant. id say its the food and drinks that made this place but it was really our bartender who stood out above the rest. We stopped by for an appetizer and a drink and ended up staying over an hour. Our bartender gave us great recommendations to visit other areas of Chicago and we happen to stumble upon Violet Hour and the eagle because of him. Props to Nick. Now for the food i had ordered the Tomato bisque and charcuterrie board. Both were outstanding. I asked nick to make me a scoth/bourbon forward drink. He delivered. the drink was awesome. Next time when we dont have reservations elsewhere we will hit them up for dinner and ofcourse sit at the bar.

Start off by saying this is not your traditional breakfast place. All the options sound delicious and unique. I ordered the spiked mug to start while deciding what I wanted to eat. Ended up going with the pork and bison sausage. Food was so delicious. Steel oats, sausage and the egg were all cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back for more!

Range does a great brunch. My wife and I walk here often for brunch with our baby. They are very accommodating of strollers. An above average Bloody Mary and the chilaquiles really hit the spot for me. My one critique is sometimes the wait staff seems a little thin when it gets busy. They should offer ketchup and hot sauce with the chilaquiles instead of trying to flag down the waitress to ask. It’s good to see a neighborhood restaurant busy and thriving.

My boyfriend and I ate here about a month ago on a Saturday night. I was a bit surprised they were not busy when all the other restaurants in the area were, but our experience was great. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. They even served us a sorbet in between our appetizer and our dinner to cleanse our palates. Also, the décor was cozy and the bar had a great selection.

We found this place looking in Unilocal and it exceeded any expectation we had. The food is delicious and the service is fantastic. I would definitely come back!

We recently used Range as the location for a reunion of about 20 people w/hor d’oeuvres and cocktail service. We were able to use the private room which was set up for mingling. It was pretty and has a fireplace. We really had a great time! Megan was my contact at Range for planning the event. She was so great about making sure our needs were met and she did whatever she could to make our event comfortable and successful. Cristina(our waitress) and Megan were both super accommodating and pleasant the whole time we were there. All our guests loved the seasonal food, drinks, and atmosphere of the place! The overall price was very reasonable and actually cheaper than many of the other places we considered using as a venue. I hope to work with Range again for a future event!

Almost don’t want to post a review because I don’t want this place to get busier! Feels like my little secret — Sunday brunch without a wait, totally delicious. I split the apple French toast and the winter squash Benedict and both were absolutely delicious. My husband says the coffee is great too. Can’t wait to come here again for dinner and try out the cocktails.

Came in the night before thanksgiving and it was pretty empty. Hostess sat us at a round table cramped in the corner. Asked if we could sit at one of the many other open tables, we were told no because the hostess wanted to save them just in case a large party unexpectedly came in. I wanted to leave before even sitting down. And by the way, the whole time we were there not one of those tables was filled…

I loved this place but I found out they grill with non-organic canola oil. They kept telling me everything was as organic as possible. It’s totally possible to not use canola oil, especially non-organic canola. I’m not a fan of canola and I bet many of their clientele aren’t either. Especially non-organic canola oil which is GMO’d to be heavily sprayed with glyphosate. It’s one of those things that organic-minded people really avoid so I was surprised they still use it considering they market to organic-minded people. I hope they change this to organic butter, or coconut, or organic palm shortening, or at least organic canola oil. I was also told the soy in the dressing isn’t organic, which is another product that many people only eat organic. I was told that they cook the eggs in butter, I hope this is still true. I was a frequent customer but I probably won’t be going back as often. This is a disappointment. I really hope they change this.

Before you receive your food you will be planning your return. Delicious for brunch with a unique, fresh and healthy menu. Notable dishes: pumpkin pancakes(with little pieces of sweet potato!), the portobello benedict and the winter squash benedict Oh and the atmosphere is excellent – really cool fixtures, a well-planned floor-plan and everything from the bathroom tiles to the booths for 2 are carefully considered. This is my go-to brunch place from here on out!

Very nice food, great wine selection, and attentive service for our private party. We had a reservation for our party of about 20, and came over after a meeting at DePaul. Wonderful appetizer board with selections of breads, cheeses, and chutneys. Wine was wonderful(spouse chose a Paso Robles merlot and I got an Argentinian malbec), entrees were autumny and delicious, and a shared dessert topped it all off. Wonderful company helped, I’m sure, but very nice place.

It’s usually not a great sign when you’re able to get a last minute reservation on Friday night for a party of 6, but we were pleasantly surprised! The menu was a little strange, but everyone was able to find something they enjoyed. I had a turkey sandwich(not a typical dinner menu option) that was delicious and the fries were amazing! We were also pleased with the drink menu. We were also pleasantly surprised when we got the bill — as «farm to table» is typically more expensive. Overall, a very nice experience and I will return!

My boyfriend and I came here for brunch on a Saturday around 10:30am. There were wait lists at most of the other brunch places near Webster, but we were seated immediately at Range. We ordered coffee, two beers, and split a savory item with fruit on the side. Delicious food, great ambiance! We will definitely be back.

I feel like nobody ever talks about this place and anyone I’ve mentioned it to hasn’t heard of it. I don’t really understand why since it is in a great location and the food is delicious. Anyway, it was my first time here and I can’t wait to come back. We had an early bird dinner on a Saturday evening at 6pm-ish before heading to a movie at Webster/Clybourn. It is super convenient to the theater for dinner/drinks before or after a movie. Also, they take reservations so you can plan your timing better without risking being late for your show time. Rather than ordering entrees, we decided to split a couple of smaller plates: –Buffalo cauliflower: a great starter. Would recommend as an appetizer. Taste just like boneless wings, but meat free! –Short rib: along with an appetizer, I could have just had this to myself as an entrée. You get a good amount, the presentation is nice, and – most importantly – it is delicious. The meat is tender and the broccoli-potato purée is quite good. –Range platter: I love a good cheese and charcuterie plate and this one definitely delivered on the former. I wouldn’t be mad, though, if they swapped one of the cheeses for 2nd meat option(some sort of sausage, perhaps?). You really get a lot for the price with this, especially when you see the size of the crusted and baked cheese. We needed more toast and they happily brought over a few extra slices. The pickled blueberries was tasty without being sweet. –Herb fries w/aioli: the aioli was forgettable, but the fries were my favorite kind. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Not a must have, though. –Peach pie w/ice cream: a small portion, which was the perfect size for the price and exactly how I like my desserts. I don’t want to feel like I’m eating an entire entrée when I order something sweet at the end. That being said, this wasn’t a standard slice of pie. The peaches are in a ramekin with a pie pastry on top(meaning no pie crust on the bottom) and a dollop of ice cream on top. I really liked it, but then I remembered that Sweet Mandy B’s is down the street and wish I would have saved room for a cupcake instead. I didn’t order anything to drink, but my husband had the root beer, uh, beer? It was nice to see something other than Not Your Father’s on the menu.(NYF’s is great, but it’s not the only one out there, ya know.) Pricing was decent(our bill was like $ 55!), staff friendly, A+ on the reservation taking. By the time we left for our movie, the place was about 1⁄3 full. The décor and atmosphere were also to my liking(although the filament bulbs in the bar area don’t really«go» with the rest of the place, but I digress). Definitely the kind of place you could bring a date, your parents, or just a group of friends. Looking forward to returning and trying out their brunch menu.

This place was great! Food was fresh and well presented. Service was excellent and when we even stayed past closing they didn’t complain. We felt bad but they reassured us that it was ok! Was just having fun and time whizzed by too fast.

Came around 9:30am Sunday and place was pretty empty. I’ve passed by this place a number of times and it never seems busy at all which is a little worrisome, but the space always seemed inviting and am sure glad I stopped by. The name of the place is certainly indicative of the décor and atmosphere, which I found to be lovely and comfortable. I got the jalapeño sausage omelette and sis got portabella benedict. My omelette was quite tasty and jam packed with spinach and roasted onions, which I loved. The swiss cheese worked well with the dish. I just found the jalapeño flavor to be lacking. The accompanied lemon potatoes were pretty good. Sis enjoyed her benedict and it was unique to see the portabella serving as the English muffin. It was a nice and lighter take on a traditional benedict. Overall, our server was great and was really on top of things. I enjoyed the ambiance and food.

Every year for Mother’s Day, I take my mom out to a new restaurant. She loves it because it’s generally the sort of place my dad would never go. He’s pretty happy at maggianos or the Olive Garden. My mom and I, however, look for a little more in an evening out. When trying to decide where to take her, I looked at the menu for Range. I hadn’t been before but when I saw Buffalo cauliflower on the menu I was sold. When I sent her the menu she didn’t get past Buffalo cauliflower either before she, too, was sold. It didn’t disappoint. Buffalo cauliflower will change your life. Someone needs to contact me immediately and tell me how to make it at home. The cauliflower isn’t where the night ended, of course, and it will say everything we had was delicious. We ordered five or six different things and shared all of it. All together the evening was wonderful. Excellent food, excellent service, great ambiance, and very vegetarian-friendly. I went back last week to take a friend to brunch. I was excited to find they take reservations, which is nothing short of a miracle for brunch in this town. The brunch was also delicious I had a Benedict and I had a an apple omelette. It probably needed a bettee apples and cheese to egg ratio, but it was good. My friend had carrot waffle Benedict. That was apparently pretty amazing, too. The bloody Mary’s are great as well.

Sad to see so many bad reviews. I went once and thought it was fantastic. They don’t have outdoor seating, but the windows are practically floor to ceiling and open all the way out, so if you’re seating at the front it’s basically like being outside. Service was great. My husband and I asked for some type of interesting mocktails and the bartender really came through. Sometimes places mix up some juice and sprite and call it a mocktail(yeah… no) but here what we got was SO good. As far as food, honestly the only thing neither of us liked was dessert. We tried a chocolate thing(some cake thing) and the pavlova. I liked the pavlova, because I like pavlova. But the cake was just bad. Very dry and flavorless. But all the other food– appetizers, entrees, all delicious. Really really good. Great service, nice location, great food(I’ll skip dessert next time though!). I’ll definitely be back.

4.5 stars It’s been a while since I found a brunch spot that has me going all YAYYYY and eager to write a review. Firstly, the ingredients all taste so fresh but they don’t overly charge! I got the baked eggs and toast which looked very simple on first glance but tasted out of this world. The toast is thickly cut, perfectly crispy and flaky on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. I actually liked the fact that the flavor of the cheese didn’t stick out. It blends in really well with the cream sauce. The yolk of the baked egg was 90% solid, 10% runny. This was the only thing I would’ve asked to be changed as I like runny yolk more. The small salad on the side is topped with a fantastic pear pomegranate vinaigrette which I wish I can bottle home. Of course on my second visit, they had changed a bit of their menu and removed the baked eggs and toast. I decided on the sweet potato waffle benedict which was pretty dang good as well. The waffles were a bit too hard but other than that, I really enjoyed the meal. Note: british bacon is like ham. Oh, and the lemon potatoes… MMM! A faint spritz and taste of lemon mixed in the potatoes, it’s a fantastic combination I’ve never had before. Bonus: Spicy ketchup brought to the table! An absolute must add to those potatoes or fries! Ambiance: SUPER cute and simple decorations on the inside very fitting for a restaurant that calls itself Range. Excellent and friendly service. Servers are quick, efficient, and they come by a few times during the meal to make sure everything is okay.
