Pretty Nails

Horrible customer service. I took my teenage son (who was resisting and didn’t want to go). He is an athlete and was in desperate need of a pedicure. Everyone was busy so I asked what the wait would be. The owner/​manager stated I can start on you now and begin to run the water. When I ushered my son to the seat the same manager refused to do him stating, «I don’t do men «. He has to wait ~30 mins till one of the other people are free. WTF, Of course I snapped ! First of all he was a 15yo kid not a man, and I dare you come to our neighborhood and choose to discriminate against a young black man. Its Unfortunate that manager, Eric, was so insecure of his manhood that a black kid intimidated him. Although this is the closest nail salon to my home, I refuse to patronize this dump. I also tried reporting them to BBB.

Do not patronize this shop on a cold day if u are getting a pedicure. I came here today and to soak off my false nail and get an overlay. I also needed a pedicure.
Let me start by saying the shop needs to order OPI and China Glaze. They do not carry either brand (that should’ve been a red flag to leave).
Everything was going fine until it was time to do my nails. I l’d just finished up with the pedicure when the nail tech asked me to sit at a station right in front of the door. I refused because my feet just got out of the water and that’s a recipe for a cold when it’s –8° in Chicago.
They acted like I asked them to come to my house to finish my nails. I kept trying to explain its too cold to sit in front. They told me I HAD to sit there if I wanted my nails done. And then told me I didn’t have a choice due to the way the shop was set up.
I refused again and asked if I could just sit and wait until my toe nails dried so I could put my shoes back on and then I wouldn’t mind sitting up front. They began speaking whatever language it is they speak…
So I told them I would just pay for the services rendered thus far; the pedi and the soak off. They told me the total was $ 30. I was told the pedi was $ 20 and the soak off $ 5. I was told the additional $ 5 was for the soak off since I wasn’t getting my nails done. I explained that’s ridiculous considering I am not continuing with the services due to the shops stipulation of not caring about my health forcing me to sit in front of the door in below zero weather.
The manager (I am assuming he was since he took the lead) began loud talking me, stating I’m being difficult. I then pulled out my iPhone and began writing this review on Unilocal.The manager was standing over my shoulder looking and said ok I will do your nails right here. I said ok, I was just trying to write a review of my experience at your establishment.
He then stated «I don’t care». I said and I’m going to take a picture of my feet and show Unilocal what type of work you do here and how you treat respectable customers. I never once used profanity but he did. I never once over talked him but he did.
He started to fix my toes when I told him don’t worry about it because I no longer want to be in ur establishment. I gave him $ 25 in cash to which he replied «it’s $ 30». I told him I wasn’t giving him another dollar after the treatment I just received (he’s lucky my pedicure was done right or he wouldn’t gotten that much).
He then told me he’s going to make me give him the additional $ 5. I told him oh yea? How? Call the police and I will show them my feet. Needless to say all I paid was the $ 25. Another worker stated just leave u are causing problems. I said I’m causing problems because I’m concerned about my health and becoming sick because my get just came out of water and are still uncovered in front of a door thats being opened repeatedly???
I was so heated I am sitting right in front of their establishment writing this review while everything is still fresh.
I gave them 1 star because you cannot post a review without at least 1star. Unilocal needs to fix this because they don’t deserve any stars!!!

i always go here for white tips or overlay gel nails, they look so nice and neat. i would reccomend if you like regular nails or just color there great for that but if you are into like freestyle design then its not for you!
