Too salted bread with cheese and bacon! Like the chili coup. Long line for lunch time but the service is okay.

I hadn’t been a big fan of Potbelly and was never a regular visitor although there are multiple locations all over the Loop and city but now I am hooked. The flatbread sandwiches are wonderful and a little crispy but still soft. I like chicken and cheese with spinach, mushrooms and tomatoes and seasoning. The kale lentil soup is tasty! My friend/colleague introduced me to the giant sugar cookies and they melt in your mouth. Heart of Loop, great location, friendly efficient staff! The employees here are really nice and pleasant and smile. Efficient even during the lunchtime rush.

I just realized they serve breakfast at this location. I ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on multi-grain. They use the same bread for all sandwiches. You have 3 options: flatbread, square, original. The original is a rather large meal for breakfast. $ 4 and change. Decent sandwich. Sausage patties cut in half, can’t tell if they are real eggs, nonetheless eggs tasted fine and topped with cheddar cheese. The sandwich is run through the broiler. The odd part was being asked if I wanted any toppings. Yeah… the standard toppings you put on a deli sandwich(lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard, etc). It was nice of them to ask, however I didn’t get any toppings. Quick and easy breakfast option. A little more substantial for mornings you find yourself starving.

I haven’t had potbelly in years and I was craving something quick. This location is nice and right around the corner of work. I went around lunch time and there was a decent line, but it got worked fast. All these sandwiches come toasted with some sort of cheese melted on them. Because I hadn’t been here in awhile, I forgot how to order, what the process was and that was a little overwhelming when I have a woman with an ipad asking me what I want. I really did feel rushed and just got the turkey original? I didn’t know the difference or options. I didn’t want cheese and add bacon but I didn’t know who to tell that to and found it was just a lost cause. The sandwich was good but nothing to write home to. Toasted nicely. Simple toppings and a dream bar to finish off the meal. Now the dream bar was the highlight of the entire meal. It seriously is a rare multi-orgasm unicorn in your mouth. I prolly won’t go back for a sandwich since there are so many better deli options within walking distance, but I will be back for that dream bar.

Came here yesterday for a Potbelly Flats First Taste Event. I had a great time and got to try out the new flat bread sandwich from Potbelly. Once they go on sale you’ll be able to order any regular Potbelly sandwich as a «flat». I tried the turkey(a usual favorite of mine), and overall was quite impressed. The flat bread gets grilled with the meat and cheese of your choice and comes with the perfect amount of crispness on the outside while still retaining a warm soft interior. The rest of the sandwich was standard Potbelly(which = great), I love the horseradish mustard. Best part, flats have 90 less calories than a normal sandwich. This is something I will definitely be ordering again and recommending to friends.

It’s a chain and I don’t really like reviewing chains, but this has to be said. Do not order online from them. I have literally gotten 2 wrong sandwiches out of 3 orders. I’m not sure how this can happen, seeing as the order is on the bag. Both times I haven’t had time to go back and get the right sandwich. It’s disappointing because all of the staff are super friendly and I like the sandwiches … when I get the right one. Sigh.

PLEEEEASE — FIXYOURSODAMACHINE. My coworkers and I have a running joke, ‘Let’s got get a potbelly’s, what’s the over under on the soda machine working today?’. I’ve given up, after about 6 days of flat soda, or carbonated water without syrup, I just get water now. Same dude — everyday«oh he’s working on it» and little dude running to and fro in a panic while dozens of frustrated sandwich eaters wait helplessly. c’mon — the chain rocks. We know this. Fix the soda machine already.

I’ve been to a few Potbelly’s and the experience at this one was great. The people that work there were very friendly and the place was very clean and inviting. The boyfriend enjoyed his first experience here.

This hurts me more than it hurts them. And it’s mostly due to the ratchet ass they have manning the register from opening til afternoon. Bless her heart. But if I wanted to get mean mugged by a bull dogged faced old lady and listen to crap music while scarfing dreck I could just make a picnic in the Jackson El Stop. Now I loved me Potbellys and spent– I s you not about a few grand there over the years(I’m serious). But am I alone in noticing the meats, cheeses, breads, soups are way saltier than they used to be?!? I drink like eight glasses of water after every meal, but keep giving them chances cuz they were so special to me. The sandwiches and salads are so messier like they were assembled by a cruely untalented five year old. The music choices are at best outlandish and way too loud. But it’s not so special anymore. And I’m sick of the surly lady. She’s kind funny how she intentionally ignores people or throws credit cards but it’s sad if I thought, like she might be depressed. I’m sorry.

This Potbelly’s is right smack dab in the middle of the finance part of the loop, and super close to my office, so I come here quite often. Like most lunch places in the area, they get crowded at lunchtime, but the staff is always prepared and handles the line quickly and efficiently. Today I got a soup and sandwich combo, and when it came time to tell the sandwich master my choice of condiments/veggies, we found out that the person taking orders with the machine thingie didn’t enter mine into the system. No worries! She took my order and brought me my sandwich after I’d paid– and it was perfect. THIS, my friends, is true customer service! On Fridays they have jazz, otherwise during lunch there’s a musician playing acoustic guitar. Additionally, they have added several more options to the menu, which is nice.

This Potbelly location is in the heart of the financial district and super convenient. The entrance here consists of two double doors which are extremely hard to open. Thats basically why I dropped the rating from five stars to four. They don’t have a revolving door so you need to wait for the first door to close before you can open the second door. They have about three people making the sandwiches(after the toaster) and two preparing your order(before the toaster). Service was fast and friendly. Lots of seating inside. I love potbelly!!!

As far as sandwiches go I have to say I am pretty impressed. Pressed bread and hot peppers… what’s not to like?

a potbellys is a potbellys is a potbellys. oh, but its not. this particular potbellys has gone above and beyond on a number of occasions for me. from the pickiest of orders to complex large ones, they get it right, and on the rare occasion they don’t, they make up for it in spades. sure its close to my work, but i’d go there anyway. and their sammiches are to die for!

I have a story to tell you to prove that great Customer Service always wins, no matter how amazing or not amazing the food is. I mean, don’t get me wrong, Potbelly is amazing when you’re in the mood for a nice thick sandwich, a big cup of soup, and some live music. However, you can get those things at almost any sandwich shop. What Potbelly has that other sandwich shops don’t have, are great people. Not good people, GREAT people. Today during the lunch rush there was, of course, a huge line. I got my salad and went to the checkout counter. The cashier was in a rush… I was in a rush… who cares who’s fault it was… to make a long story short, my debit card fell down a crack between the counter and the sandwich station. This crack is TINY, like a black hole… an abyss in which nothing comes out after it goes in. Mandy, the wonderful cashier who was involved in the incident, happened to also be the manager on duty. She took down my phone number and offered to attempt to dig out my debit card after the lunch rush had cleared. About a half hour later, she called to say she’d had no luck. She advised that I could either cancel my debit card, or she could take apart the front of the counter and have it re-assembled after hours. I didn’t know what to say, because every automatic payment I have under the sun is tied to that debit card. If I cancelled it, I would have to spend hours cancelling all the auto-payments on my phone, my electricity, my cable… you name it, I’ve got it. Mandy said she understood and that she would do her best. She called my office at the end of the day to report that she successfully recovered my card after removing the front of the counter. Not only did she do that, but she personally delivered my card to my building… with 3 coupons for free sandwiches! I couldn’t believe it. I made her go through all this crap for me… and SHE was giving ME something? I still can’t believe the extent to which they took care of me. For all I know, it could have been me being a total klutz. It happened so fast! Every single person at every Potbelly has been nothing but cheerful, kind, courteous, and caring towards me. Today, however, just went above and beyond. Potbelly, you have my business for life!

Apparently Potbelly changed their menu and their wheat bread now includes 100% whole grains. Thumbs up for that, but what was it before?

Potbelly’s sandwiches are a favorite. I think it has something to do with the bread, which is always perfectly toasted, and the fact that they always put the perfect amount of lettuce, tomato, etc. on the thing. My work friends can attest to the fact that I will sometimes sadly apologize to the sandwich when I near the end, and then tell them that I’m in love with a sandwich. Which is a lot less funny now that those stupid«I think I’m in love… with a phone!» commercials are on. Stop stealing the ideas from my brain, ad wizzes.
