Incredible deep dish in the heart of Chicago! If you are in the city, «due» is a must.

If you want the perfect Chicago experience, in many ways, visit Pizza Due. I found it accidentally. The front door is not exactly on the street, which makes it even more interesting. You step down into the entrance, turn a corner or two and you are in the bar. What a cool place. Of course, there is a dining area too, but I prefer the bar. If you are lucky enough to actually sit at the bar, don’t give up your seat. Enjoy your drink and dinner right there! Everything revolves around you. The staff is great, the drinks are excellent and the pizza is superb. My favorite in the city. I visit every time I’m in the city, usually a couple of times.

Deep dish authenticity! I visited Pizzeria Due for a Chicago staple, a real, authentic deep dish pie, and I loved every slice. A cool little place and some really nice people made this place very inviting for my first visit to the Windy City. Beer, wings and pizza, that was my go-to! Completely satisfied. Now we were told it would take a while for the pizza to come out, and that’s just what you have to anticipate here, this is the real deal, it’s deep dish, not DiGiorno, patience young grasshopper. –Eric Statzer

Awesome deep dish with amazing buttery flaky crust … Great service … So much better than some of the other more famous places in Chicago we have visited.

I am very torn writing this review for due. Over my stay in Chicago, I came to this place twice. The first time was a very pleasant experience for dinner. Amazing wings and great deep dish pizza! Service was amazing and staff was very friendly. Second time interacting with due was far from that. I first tried calling to order, but the staff did not know the menu at all. The person taking the call had to ask the staff in the background about menu items more than 3 times. I ended up telling the staff I would call back since the ordering process was taking too long. After about 45 minutes to an hour, I called back, and the same guy picked up. Same. Exact. Experience. I ordered a sandwich, spaghetti, and two salads. 20 minutes later, I came to pick up my order. I have never in my life had such a terrible experience with a nonfunctional staff. I went to pay for my meal at the bar. Once I paid, the bartender told me to look for a waiter to get my food. I ran around the restaurant, finally found someone, and finally it seemed liked I was about to get my food. After 10 minutes(which was already too long to wait since the order had been placed more than 20 minutes ago) my sandwich and spaghetti was brought out in two containers without a bag to hold them. I asked about my two salads since they forgot, and for some plastic utensils and plates as well as a bag to hold the four containers I was about to leave with. After another 10 minutes, the waitress came back with a paper bag with plates, but no forks or spoons or anything else. She did not have my salad, and did not have my plastic bag. She asked me what dressing I wanted with my salad even though I had already ordered a Caesar and a house salad on the phone. After asking for a house and Caesar salad again and a plastic bag(again) as well as some forks(again), 10 minutes later, the waitress brought me my salad. BUT she just one of them. She forgot my forks, and my plastic bag AGAIN! furious, I left without my bag, forks, AND my other salad that I PAIDFOR. I would’ve asked for my other salad but I didn’t feel like waiting another 10 minutes for something that wasn’t going to be fulfilled. These very simple, functional aspects of this restaurant were completely missing. They were not busy at the moment but they still could not satisfy simple necessary requests. Maybe they were having a bad night, but they did not even bring me the food I paid for and couldn’t give me something as common sense as a plastic bag to hold my 5 items. SAD. POOREXCUSEFOR A RESTAURANTANDCUSTOMERSERVICE. Even though my first experience was good, the second experience has made me never want to come back to this restaurant. Dinner staff around 7:00 was good, but staff around 10:30 — 11:00pm was the worst excuse for waiters I have ever seen. TERRIBLESERVICE.

Windy City deep dish pizza … Yum doesn’t get much better than Pizzeria Due. Positively my favorite in this town. There is something about that true Chicago crust. Just like No Other!!! Their assortment allows you to be creative and tantalize your palate with yummy combinations. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is most inviting. One problem… The secret is out how great this place is and it is busy most nights. However it is definitely worth the wait!

This was the first place we visited when we got to Chicago. The pizza was amazing. We had chicken wings and the Numero Uno. the wings were huge, cooked perfectly, and had just the right amount of sauce. The pizza sauce had really good flavor and the sausage was so good. The restaurant is small so I’m sure it gets packed quickly during game peak times. Overall great place to visit.

Super friendly staff. Long wait time for food… 40 mins for a pizza… Don’t be in a hurry. Pizza was pretty good. Outside seating! You can go in a group or have a table for one. Either way it’s a pretty cool spot to stop in for a pizza.

Absolutely fantastic food! My daughter and I were just there for lunch today. We didn’t have to wait at all to be seated. Our server, Chris, was very pleasant and accommodating. My daughter and I shared a salad, and I’m glad we did, because there was more than enough for the two of us! We ordered the specialty deep dish Numero Uno pizza, a size medium. We probably could have gotten away with ordering a small, because we ended up taking home 4 slices. We substituted the mushrooms with spinach, and it was fantastic! The service was excellent. The restaurant was very clean. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about our experience. It wasn’t our first time there, and it definitely won’t be our last.

I never expected such immorality in my life. Based on the reviews I was expecting something phenomenal. The pizza I ordered was great actually, but my problem is as follows. My wife ordered a pop. I don’t drink pop, but I took couple of sips from her. When she asked for a refill, the waitress said we can’t have another one because we shared. Were you monitoring us or what? What do you expect me to do after this. This place is expensive and I don’t think doing so is to your favor. Needless to say, I called for a manager to see if this is the policy and the norm. He came with a big smile and for a second I thought this guy would be helpful. After explaining the situation that I got a sip and she is declining to give us a refill, is this normal sir? He explained that it is perfectly normal here and otherwise is very weird. He explained 4 children come often and share the same drink and we don’t like that. He added, even two is not acceptable but I can smuggle you a little pop(with a wink) no worries. For a second I thought the misunderstanding is over… Moments later, he came and put the drink on the edge of the table… It was a quarter full of pop. I was left with shock and disgust of such service. Is this really worth it? To jeopardize the name of your company and losing me as a customer and all my friends whom I told this story to? I guess the place is way over crowded that they don’t need my business and thus I will take it elsewhere. Other notes: Very noisy and overcrowded. Bathroom is always occupied. Tables are right next to bathroom chairs from opposite tables hit each other’s back. immoral manager

No better place for Chicago deep dish! The atmosphere and building set up the experience. You enter a quant old-school Italian restaurant presenting to you its finest invention: the Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza. The wait can be long, and sometimes a bit crowded, and they do not take reservations but it is definitely worth it. They make all of the pizzas as you order them, so they’re as fresh as possible, and it takes 45 mins to make a pizza. My advise, pre-order and grab a drink at the bar, you’ll be at your table and get your pizza right away.

Reading some of these other reviews makes me wonder if it’s possible people don’t KNOW what they’re getting when they order a Chicago style pizza. Hell yes it takes 45 minutes. They have to cook a two inch deep pie! We ordered a small Numero Uno and it was everything I grew up knowing and loving about a Chicago deep dish. We got extra pizza sauce because duh. You have to dip that delicious flakey, crunchy crust into the spicy, chunky tomatoey goodness! Our server Rick was friendly and nearby when we needed him. Skip the cocktails and stick with beer. My Gin-lemonade concoction tasted like syrup but the numerous Goose Island options made up the difference.

4.5 stars… I’ve been coming here for years so this joint is just one of my Chicago pizza favorites. We ordered the número Uno which is a deep dish with sausage, pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers, the last ingredient I asked to omit. The thick corn flour crust is always crunchy with a hint of char for flavor. The ingredients are always plentiful creating a great pie! The only down side to this type of fare is the excruciating wait times. To craft and correctly bake one of theses mozzarella monstrosities takes upwards of 45 minutes… so be ready to drink Chicago beers in the interim(or call ahead and ask to get the whole pie going early)!!!There is a full bar as well as several local and standard beers on draft, and I always eat Chicago deep dish with a cold 312 from Goose Island. Unfortunately due to the size of the pizza and filling toppings we had no gastrointestinal real estate to sample any of their other offerings. Prices are above expectation, but in line with locale, and ambiance is aunt Ethel’s basement crossed with Wrigleyville sports bar. This joint definitely makes the list!

Not the best or worst, but it was convenient to hotel after a long day of work. Great service, but you will have to wait at least 45 minutes for a deep dish pizza. Must try some of the local brew too.

Worst deep dish ever! Those of us who live in Chicago have our place for deep dish. Ask any Chicagoan and they will tell you the name. But it was late at night and I was too tired to think, and Pizzeria Due is right down the street, a three minute walk. I was in a «what the hell» mood. So I ordered a pick-up small«Numerous Uno.» Brought it home and opened the box, and it immediately looked like a disheveled pile of crap, burnt on top and just a mess. Only half the pizza was cut(how the hell can you do that?). I tried to pick up one piece and the crust broke off from the slice. I suspect it’s because it was so dry from being BURNT! I couldn’t even cut in to it! The crust was rock hard, and also burned on the bottom as suspected. Now, I’m a sausage fan, but the patty they lay across the whole pizza was so uneven I would get a mouthful of sausage and nothing else. The pepperoni slices weren’t even separated! We are the city of deep dish. There are lots of other places around and very close by that serve a better pizza than this horrid place. For what it’s worth, the staff was extremely, extremely, nice. But I’m there for the pizza. I’ve never had a poorly made deep dish from any other place, as many times as I’ve been. Go elsewhere! You have choices! Verbum sapientiae sufficens est!

I ordered the chefs choice with garlic, mushrooms and sausage. My visit was at 1am not sure if that’s a noteworthy factor. The crust was HARD. Like too hard to be edible. That was the worst part next to the :40 minute wait. The sauce and sausage and cheese was ordinary. The garlic and mushrooms were barely detectable. This was maybe just ordinary fare and certainly not somewhere I would go out of my way to revisit or bring someone. The service was extraordinary. Robin was attentive and thorough and a pleasure. Scratched off my list. Next?!

A classic purveyor of Chicago-style thick-crust pizza, just a block from its usually more crowded elder sister, Pizzeria Uno. Feels much less grubby than the benchmark Chicago pizzeria, Gino’s East, which for some ill-considered reason encourages graffiti. We arrived early Sunday afternoon, and for once were seated immediately. We were warned by the waiter that there would be a 45-minute wait for our made-to order pizza; this was expected, and as it turned out the actual wait was more like 35 minutes. What came out was well worth the wait, a medium Numero Uno house special, big enough for four. Sausage, pepperoni, and the usual toppings, conventional but perfectly executed. Thoroughly satisfactory. Good public transit access: two blocks from the Grand station on the Red Line, and two blocks from all the bus lines on North Michigan Avenue.

After a long walk along Michigan Ave my date and I got the midnight cravings and decided to give this place a try. It’s one of those places you always walk by and say your going to try it but never get around to it. We were feeling adventurous so now was that time. Lol we went around 1:00am. It was actually a decent size crowd, but not packed. Now just a heads up to all my thin crust pizza lovers, they only serve deep dish here. I’m usually a fan of thin. We went with the small Spinach pizza and added mushrooms. The crust was okay, but what really stood out to me was the sauce. It had chunks of tomato in it and was delicious. Only thing missing we forgot to add was sausage, but the addition of the mushrooms made up for it. You get 4 slices with the small and that was perfect for us. I would definitely go back if I was feeling in a deep dish mood.

When in Rome… This was my first deep dish pizza experience, so I can’t compare it to anything. Came to Chicago last weekend from NYC to see what it’s about over here and I was not disappointed in any aspect of the trip! One of our first stops was of course for deep dish pizza. We passed by the original Uno Pizza and came to Pizzeria Due. SERVICE: Regular. Had to ask for water and refills when my water was empty but when I got the waitress’ attention she was quick. She did warn us before ordering that the deep dish pizza takes about 45 minutes. I’m glad she warned us since I was starving so ordered soup and garlic breadsticks.(The pizza came in less than 30 minutes). Garlic Breadsticks — The bread itself was decent but it came with a side of pizza sauce for dipping. The sauce was fantastic! Delicious! Heavy, strong flavors of spices like oregano. Loved it! Minestrone Soup — Ordered this to hold me over since I was starving. It was salty, and not that great. Deep Dish Pizza — Half Plain /Half green peppers and chicken. If you order a half pizza they charge you full price for the toppings. The crust was very pie crust-like. I wasn’t expecting that. The pizza itself isn’t as think as you’d expect. It’s a regular crust layer on the bottom, filled with cheese(a thick layer of fresh mozz), and topped with sauce. Very interesting combo, but I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn’t beat a New York slice, but it’s definitely worth trying!
