I stopped into Optica to see if they had a solution to fix my ever-slipping glasses. While browsing the gorgeous frame selection, Miguel did what 3 other opticians/optical stores swore was impossible — he managed to get exactly the right bend in my vintage frames so they now sit securely on my face. Thanks to Miguel, I can see again! Not only were the staff delightful, they were very helpful to me and the other customers who came in during my visit. Next time I’m in the market for eyewear(which is pretty much always), I will be calling on Miguel for assistance. And for those complaining about a no return policy, doesn’t it make sense to ask at the time of purchase if there’s even the slightest chance you may be unhappy with the product? Don’t fault the shop for protecting itself.

Some people are just stupid… I cant believe some of these reviews are complaining about the no returns policy… The frame fit your face different when you got home? Really? Did you have facial reconstruction surgery on your way home? Or the woman that wore the frames a couple hours and then tried to return them? Would you try that with anything else? Ughhh Im so glad im not in customer service… But anyways, this place has some great frames in a hospital clean atmosphere. I was so embarrassed when I reached out to grab a frame and… well my hand hit the glass door. lol Seriously it was that clean. I didnt make a purchase because I didnt see anything that really really hit me. BUT, I can tell you the staff was attentive and very friendly. Next time I feel like spending a mortgage payment on a hot pair of shades Ill probably give them another look.

How many pairs of glasses does one woman need? Apparently 5(so far). On a recent lazy day on Michigan Ave I wandered into Optica and found a pair of red glasses that I decided needed to come home with me. None the less, I still wandered around the store trying on half the frames I could reach. The salesman was very friendly and helpful but not pushy. I purchased another pair of frames here a year or two ago and the staff are always honest about whether a pair of frames look right or not. The prices at Optica seem a little high, but for designer frames they are really not that bad. I found the pair I got on for $ 110 more than I paid at Optica. The no return policy is a little shady, seems slightly ridiculous that you can’t return something like glasses(lenses I can understand, but the frames?!). It would be nice if they mention that to you before you complete the purchase, I’m not sure I would’ve continued with my $ 300 impulse buy had I known it was forever. I would have thought about it for a week, fallen in love with them, then gone back only to find out they were sold out.

I had the same issue as Kristin. I purchased a pair of non-prescription sunglasses and, at the time of the purchase, was never informed that Optica has a no returns policy. A week later, I came back to attempt to return the item as the frames did not sit right once I got them home. First, I spoke with an employee who could not help me — pointing me to a tiny sign that was on the opposite side of the register from where my purchase was rung up and to tiny print at the bottom of the sales receipt. When I asked why they don’t tell customers about their policy, the employee said he does not mention it because«You don’t want to tell a customer a negative.» Which says a lot. He promised to call a manager and get back to me. That never happened. In this day and age, I don’t expect ANY store to have a no returns policy when even Internet stores make it easy to return merchandise. I’d never knowingly shop at a store that has a no returns policy. If you are going to put such a policy in place, at the very least you owe customers a big heads up.

The staff is friendly and helpful at this Optica. I am very not impressed with their NORETURN policy. I did not realize that when I made my $ 400 purchase. I bought a pair of sunglasses with no prescription, I wore them a couple of hours and they gave me a headache so I tried to return them. I am not impressed with any company that does not stand behind their products. I would understand the no return policy if they were prescription glasses. They ended up giving me hassle, had to wait several hours for a manager, and then they let me exchange them for a pair of Maui Jims that were $ 35 cheaper down the road at Sunglass Hut. I will not go back to Optica for sunglasses!
