Beautiful semi-hidden nature spot in Lincoln park! Surrounding North Pond is a nice paved walking trail, a few trails weave through natural wildflowers, and there’s an expensive farm to table dining restaurant that opens its floor to ceiling doors to make it semi-Alfresco in the summer! Get out your bucket, because you’re gonna puke a little when I say«Hidden Gem», but it really is!

The café at North Pond is out of this world. The bar is two shelves above top shelf. The staff are so approachable yet highly educated in fine foods and beverages. Events here are exquisite. Five star dining. Make a reservation.

It’s like being in the country right in Lincoln Park. I’d often walk through the area on the way to work and saw many birds that I’ve never or rarely seen elsewhere in Chicago. I’ve seen Green and Black Crested Herons and woodpeckers as well as many other birds and a beaver and many turtles. It’s a nice place to just sit quietly.

I went there today with a friend and we sat in the middle of the pond on these wooden bench/seats on the pier. On our way we saw 4 bunnies, and in the water we saw a female duck with six of the cutest yellow and brown little ducklings ever created in the universe. Awwwwwwwww! So it’s not too late in the year to see young baby ducklings if you’re lucky.
