North Avenue Family Dentist

Good people work at this place. very polite and attentive. However be prepared to wait up to 2 – 3 hours!!! They have only 2 doctors and probably overbooking:(

I’m disappointed in this office’s commitment to its appointments. I find it ridiculous that the patient has to pay a $ 35 cancelation fee if they need to cancle their appointment the day of but the dentists here can inconvenience the patients by being more than an hour late getting to their appointment.
If a patient puts the dentist too far behind by being late then they shouldn’t be seen. They should be made to reschedule. Today I waited over an hour to be seen by Dr. Sharon. And when I finally did get taken back she still was working on someone else’s mouth.
And it didn’t help this office to have a guy (that same day) come running out into the waiting room screaming «YOU FUCKING ASSHOLES!»
However, all the dental work I scheduled to get done there has now been completed. I’ve had no problems with the work they’ve done. I just got a thing about the outrageous wait times.

Recently, due to being a federal employee that needed a certain type of insurance acceptance, and requiring that things be done only on Saturdays; I found myself at the North Avenue Family Dentist. I needed to have nine teeth extracted and a full denture put in as soon as possible! and then came Dr. Georgia Kalkanis… This was the best medical experience I’ve ever had! After seeing me a total of two hours only, I’m now sporting (what she called) «My million dollar smile,» and from the inception of the extractions… THERE HASN’T BEEN THE SLIGHTEST DISCOMFORT… let alone anything close to pain. Dr. Kalkanis is a miracle worker! She’s engaging, extremely sensitive to the needs of her patients, amazingly skilled and always available to discuss any needs or concerns. I can’t recommend this dentist (or her clinic) highly enough. Believe me… very soon she’ll be on North Michigan Avenue!

Made an 10:30am appointment. I was not seen until 11:45am. I was furious but not as mad as the hygienist who cleaned my teeth. She was so rough and it was almost unbearable. I hated the experience but I needed a cleaning and I was not going to let my Groupon go to waste. I will NEVER come back here again. I hope no one does. Longest process for the most painful cleaning ever!
