Mr. Zee’s

Mr. Zee was our Plan B since the Mexican joint next door with an excellent Unilocal rating is closed on Tuesdays. What was the 1.5 star review about? It seemed too low for me to comprehend. If it were an issue related to customer service, I didn’t experience any during our visit this evening. Trust me. Some people really do feel «entitled» to rant their anger and speak aggressively to others, especially to people in the service industry. As a retail professional, I have been yelled at countless times. Please, if there’s nothing major, don’t give each other a hard time.
On the other hand, food was decent. I thought the portions of rice and fries that came with the shrimp dinner were a bit too much for me. Hubby’s gyro plate appeared to make sense. I render three (3) stars based on their overall performance.
I also used the restroom there; it was clean for the public facility standard. I had no reason hurt a local business by sabotaging their rating on social media.

This place is just as yucky as its relative on irving Park and Narragansett. The food is horrible. Even Scoops was better. Dont expect this place to be around long either.

I give no stars to this business. I ordered a salad with only tomato and croutons and I received a container of only tomato and croûton. no lettuce at all! I went back to have it fixed and me being under the impression that they were making me a new salad I took it and left. Only to come home to find that the cook had just grabbed a handful of lettuce and put it on top of my container of tomato and croûton… really? So I took it back again to get my money back and while I am telling the man behind the counter how ridiculous this was a cook comes out from around the corner sharpening a knife and staring me down like I was going to be intimidated by that! Oh and I also noticed that none of the cooks were wearing gloves while preparing food. The man behind the counter didn’t really seem to care and opened the register and handed me 5 dollars. What the he’ll kind of business are the people running? I will never return. Ever.

Two stars for the food only. Tastes the same as I remember although there seems to be a new crew and their customer service skills are a joke. There was one other customer who had already ordered and as we were looking at the menu this older guy was acting like it was annoying him that we didn’t instantly know what we wanted. Mind you the guy never really even had to move as he was already standing at the register and was fascinated by the TV in the dining area and also mind you that there was no one else in line. My girlfriend felt rushed and was going to order but I told her to take her time.
I have a shaved head and when I had my back turned I heard the guys in the kitchen talking crap in Spanish. I turned and looked at the guy I heard comment last and he scurried off. For sake of being terrified of these guys doing anything to my food I said nothing.
Then this other skinny borat looking guy who sat near the register for most of the time switching between staring at the tv and snapchatting his boyfriend decides to stare me down and when I looked at him he looks away.
I remember a middle aged guy with dark hair who ran this place well. He was friendly and his staff was as well. These guys were a bunch of clowns. I’m changing to one star.

I ordered an Italian beef with Mozarrella and hot/​sweet peppers it was ok… nothing to write home about and the boyfriend ordered an Italian beef combo and simply requested it be put on a plate instead of those little red plastic baskets. seemed like a simple request but when we received the order the sausage was on a plate along with the beef and peppers and the bread was on the side which was not even the French bread it normally comes with but 2 slices of rye bread… ok…the old
Greek/​European man that took the orders gave such a look like my boyfriend was ripping him off when he told him this is not what he asked it to be like but whatever he wants the French bread it SHOULD have come with… it would have been ok if not for the rude old man who had the audacity to roll his eyes AND on top of it talk about it to one of the cooks like it was such a big deal for my bf to request the French bread it should have come with in the first place AND after paying 20 something dollars for this meal incl a to go order. one would think customers would be treated more graciously considering it is the patrons that keep businesses like this open. maybe his English sucks and something was lost in translation but I really hate it when staff/​owners act like we should be grateful we are eating at their business and not the other way around. neways go to Bobarinos on central and Addison the food is way better along with better pricing and the staff their are great including the owner

Mr. zees more like Mr. B’s for BLAND. Everything is bland. Fries BLAND, Garlic bread BLAND, perch BLAND, Gyro BLAND. The only thing that was decent was the tartar sauce. If u want your food to taste like nothing this is the place. I gave it one star cuz u have to otherwise I give it ni madre. Suckiest suck that ever sucked!
