This was our first time here, but not our first time at a Lettuce Entertain You establishment. We’ve always had great experiences at other LEYE restaurants and this time did not disappoint. My husband, myself and our two young boys all really enjoyed our food and three of us were in the clean plate club.”.’cause 3 outta 4 ain’t bad.” ??? I guess it doesn’t have the same ring to it. Speaking of Meatloaf, that’s what my husband ordered and he really loved it. The steak/meatloaf sauce served on the side was a little heavy on the vinegar for his tadte, so he didn’t use it, but told me it didn’t need it anyway. Our older son had the«Thanksgiving» meal from the kids menu and pretty much devoured it, while our 4 year old made a nice dent in his mac and cheese. I had the Salisbury steak special and it was thankfully nothing at all like a TV dinner.(wow, I’ve now made a Meatloaf reference and a TV dinner reference… and I’m not even that old) The boys each finished with a sundae while my husband and I split the blueberry cobbler. That cobbler though. Freshly. Baked. Perfection. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. It was the first time in a very long time we’ve been out to dinner where something wasn’t forgotten or messed up in some way, our dinner was truly perfect there. The place seems like a well-oiled and delicious machine, and that’s what you want when you go out to dinner. We will definitely be back.

Went here for the first time with my wife. Had the peppercorn burger. The burger was big and meaty, would have preferred a little more flavor, but overall not a bad burger. The home made potato chips were recommended, but too greasy for my liking. The atmosphere was nice and quiet, was seated and served promptly

Never knew that this restaurant was in Water Tower Place until my friends dragged me in! I will keep this review short and simple. The peppercorn encrusted burger was amazing. The sweet potato fries were equally as tasty. I also really enjoyed the cheddar popover thingies they start you with. All in all, a great spot to get a bite mid shopping! And away from the crowd at the food court — which I LOVED!

Mity serves a veggie burger that will make meat eaters consider going vegetarian! The burger is a savory mouthful and the soft bun brings it all together. They serve multiple types of rootbeers, cream sodas as well as wines. The service is ok and the wait isn’t long. Put SWISSCHEESE on your burger!

Everything was too heavy on seasoning. Mac n Cheese and buns too salty, strawberry lemonade too sour. I was shivering with every bite. Service was personal and good.

Seriously who’s reviewing this place? Have you not had good food before? No offense, but this place is made for those who are perfectly fine with bland food. I had the pot roast«filet mignon.» The best thing on there were the carrots! The pot roast was obviously cooked horribly. Burnt top and dry center that was brought out in about 5 minutes! It’s like they didn’t even TRY to make this dish any better than what it was, and it was super duper bland. Had the guacamole and chips. Salsa was good, however the guac was bland. You can only taste the avocado. No garlic or lime, not even a spontaneous dash of chopped chili peppers! My boyfriends veggie burger was not good at all. The veggie burger itself(obviously not home made) was dipped in batter and deep fried and tossed into a bun. I could have made that at home! The highlight of the night were my beer flights, now that I did enjoy, but that is NOT something made by Mity Nice Grill so I don’t give them any credit. This place does not attend to taste buds of those who have tasted many different types of food and spices. Service was awesome, but the kitchen needs to step it up and stop microwaving or quick making these wrongfully pre made foods.

Love their veggie burger– best in town made with spinach and pumpkin seeds. Food is always solidly good here. Friendly wait staff. My go to when downtown and want a casual lunch place.

Mity Nice was a disappointment yesterday. I have frequented Mity Nice many times and it has always been a solid place to eat. I don’t know if yesterday was an off day for them or if the quality is just simply going down. I made a reservation for my boyfriend and me. Even though I had a reservation, we couldn’t get a table for about 15 minutes. When we sat down, the space in the booth was very cramped. I think they reconfigured the seating so that they could fit in more tables. Needless to say, it wasn’t comfortable. Next, the service was SLOW. It took 20 minutes to get drinks and from the time that we sat down until we were served our dinner, it was 35 minutes. We had to ask to get our water glasses filled. I needed to ask for another glass of wine. Service was not attentive. Now for the food. It was just OK. My prime rib special was not great. The meat was dry and WAY overcooked. I asked for medium and received dry and well done. My boyfriend said his Thanksgiving dinner was good but the vegetables and potatoes were on the cold side. I used to frequently go to Mity Nice but I was so disappointed that I don’t think I will be going back for some time.

Deviled eggs were delicious. Other than that everything else I had from the menu was mediocre. I had a chicken salad, coffee and dessert and all 3 even the coffee were not worth the price. Thank heaven for those deviled eggs otherwise I would’ve been completely robbed.

A solid place to eat in the Water Tower building. Follow the footprint pictures on the ground in the food court to find it! We went for restaurant week, and got a TON of food for $ 22 a person, along with an included glass of wine! The deviled eggs were fabulous, with bacon both on top and mixed into the yolks :) The real highlight of the meal was dessert, though– a freshly baked cookie served right in the skillet with ice cream on top! After requesting it to be served slightly undercooked and a little gooey in the center, it was so perfect that I so wish I had another one right now! Other foods: –The trout dip was decent and not overbearingly fishy tasting –The salsa was gross, and was basically just tomato paste –The chopped salad was really good, but nothing out of the ordinary All in all, a solid meal, but nothing to go out of your way for. Definitely worth the RW price!

I’ve eaten at Mighty Nice several times and the food, ambience, and service are consistently good. The fish and chips are delicious and the burgers are juicy and fresh. It’s simple American bistro fare done very well. It certainly deserves your attention if you’re at Water Tower and find yourself in need of a relaxed meal.

We won $ 100 in gift certificates in a raffle and went here for dinner after work on a Monday. That is a good day because wine is $ 5 a glass. I had two of the«not your dad’s» root beers. They are sweet(but good) so switched to wine after that. My wife ordered a blueberry pomegranate lemon drop, which tasted weak. I ordered the crispy fish sandwich and the wife ordered bacon cheeseburger. Both were good. This is essentially bar food, but it’s good bar food. We have $ 25 left on gift certificate so will be back. The server was friendly and attentive. At least on a Monday, this was not a young person’s bar. At 42 and 42, the wife and I were among the youngest patrons.

By being part of the Lettuce Entertain You rewards program, I got suckered into going to one of their restaurant since they mailed me a big booklet of restaurant coupons that you can scratch off to reveal the coupon amount. Ugh, they know my weak spot. So, how did we end up at Mity Nice Bar & Grill? Here’s a recap of my conversation with my friend: Me: Let’s do Beatrix. It’s a 5-min walk from your office. *Browsing through the menu and Unilocal reviews* (30 minutes later…) Friend: I JUST had lunch at Beatrix lol. Me: NoOoOoOoOoo. I’m guessing you don’t want to go back there huh? Lol. Friend: Yeah, probably not. Me: What about Ramen-San? *About to browse through the Ramen-San menu* (5 minutes later…) Friend: Uhhh no ramen :(Sry lol. Me: What about Wildfire? It’s right there by your work. It’s actually in the same building as your work. *Browses through Wildfire menu and Unilocal reviews* (10 minutes later…) Friend: Omg I feel so bad but I hate wildfire :( Me: LOL. I hate you. ;(What about Mity Nice? Friend: Sure. 6:30pm? …FINALLY. –___– This restaurant seems like a great lunch and dinner spot with friends or colleagues. There are booths along the wall, tables in the middle, and a bar on one side of the restaurant. We were seated immediately upon arrival at a table. The cheese rolls were amazing. Despite being lactose intolerant, I made an exception for them. We ordered the green chili chicken nachos and chili-lime chicken tacos. I was not a fan of the chicken nachos because it was covered in cheese, but my friend liked it. The chili-lime chicken tacos were tasty, but it came with cheese on the plate(which was not mentioned on the menu). The service was decent. The server was nice and checked on us just enough times to make sure we were doing okay but not to the point of being overbearing. I think this place is worth checking out once, but I probably won’t be a regular without my Lettuce Entertain You coupon since it didn’t blow me away.

Having a real dine in restaurant at the every back of a «cafeteria» was odd for us, we had our doubts. However, the food was surprisingly good. As our waitress addressed their food«comfort food with a twist» they deliver! We started with a Mac and cheese order, absolutely worth every calorie, and there were plenty of them. Then got their veggie burger, fish taco, and chicken something. According to every one, the orders were flavorful and satisfying. Although, the serves were nice, it did not live up to the restaurant atmosphere and level. Plus, the location takes away from it as well, I can describe it as «funny» location. Doubt going back there when ever I visit Chicago!

The only negative thing about this restaurant is that you have to pass through the crowded food court to get to it. Which is why a lot of visitors to Water Tower Place never realize it’s here. Too bad, as it really is the hidden treasure in a sea of over-priced food court food. When I lived down the street, I came here a lot. Now that it’s more of a trek, I visit whenever I’m shopping nearby or have tickets to Lookingglass Theatre. Recently dined here with a friend and was glad to see it’s as good as ever. The décor had been updated, and there were a lot of new items on the menu, but thankfully my old favorites were still offered. And the service, as always, was excellent. We started with martinis and a basket of their signature popovers… so good we asked for a second basket. I had a cup of my favorite French onion soup, slightly sweet onions in a flavorful broth topped with three different melted cheeses. Followed it with the Acapulco salad, fresh ingredients tossed with lime cilantro dressing, which was just tart enough. My friend, who loves comfort food, had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. He pronounced it a winner.(Mity Nice served comfort food years before it became popular.) Hated to pass up desert(a trade-off with the popovers), but enjoyed several cups of coffee and never felt rushed. I really do miss the convenience of living close by.

The beginning of winter is the most cold, you are not ready(in terms of jacket, scarf etc) and it becomes chilly all of sudden and lots of wind blowing. Thats what happened and we were at Macy’s — hungerand the gloom of winter was playing trick on our mood plus shopping was not eventful. So needed to lift the spirit. And we saw the advertisement for this restaurent, its in the basement of Macys and it gives comfort food. And comfort food is tasty and thats what we needed :). It was a good ambience good crowd, good service, good food. We ordered burger –veggie for me and meat for husband. Both of them were good, portion size was good.(lots of good) everything was just good nothing bad nor exceptional. sidenote: will avoid for sure in summer, there are no windows but winter its a good option.

The daily special on a Sunday was friend chicken. It was amazingly good and HUGE portions. We started out with the mac n cheese which was the best! My partner in crime had the pot roast wth roasted veggies. Everything we got was delicious and hot! Best comfort food place to dine!

Love the cheese rolls, deviled eggs, fish & chils, and the French onion soup. These are some of my go to meals when I choose MNG. Should have gone with one of my tried and trues. Went out on a limb today and ordered the chicken and waffles. Waffles were delicious. Chicken was tender but breaded with something that made it too spicy for my taste. For $ 15, I was given a generous portion and ended up taking 2:3 pieces home where I took off the breading and enjoyed more than the original meal. Any of the wait staff you get here are super friendly!

Some friends and I came here for dinner one evening and had an enjoyable meal. Décor: It is a pretty nice place, more upscale than your average chain restaurant but not as nice as a «fancy» place. However, I would feel a bit uncomfortable just rolling in wearing a t-shirt and jeans. That being said, it is very casual and relaxed, which is nice. The lighting is a tad bit dimmed to help set the relaxed atmosphere and the music reinforces everything. There are plenty of tables but this place is quite popular so you may have to wait. Bathroom: nice and clean and inviting. Staff: Our waiter was pretty cool. He seemed to be very busy and have a lot of tables, perhaps someone did not show up for their shift, but he didn’t let it show at all when he interacted with us. Food: We started with these little bread things that were delicious, I had some bourbon(a decent pour) and then moved on to our main courses. We had a few different items ranging from: a burger to the pot roast to the salmon. Everything was well prepared, served hot, and tasted fresh. The portion sizes are pretty sizable as well, which is very nice. For drinks we sampled some of their rootbeer and it was very tasty! Value: Given the décor, the portion sizes, and the food quality(let’s not forget service) I’d say you get your money’s worth here. I really enjoyed our meal and would consider returning if I am again in the area.

I’ve been back for dinner now and I must say that Mity Nice has, again, exceeded my expectations. My wife got the skirt steak(which was all kinds of fabulous — I will get it next time) and I got the Pot Roast«Filet Mignon,» which was truly amazing, though a touch fatty. My recommendation would be to braise it about 30 minutes more, but the flavor was well worth twice the price. A highlight was my dessert: a salted caramel root beer float! In all seriousness, if you haven’t been here, give it a shot. Multiple root beer selections, comfort food & great service… What’s not to love? Fast becoming my «go to» place on the Mag Mile.

The food here is great. My stomach was upset so I didn’t get anything fancy but the Mac and cheese was fantastic. My sister got a burger which was great. Elise was an amazing server even though it looked like she was bartender. Highly recommend. My sister is gluten free and they had a good gluten menu choice and she didn’t get sick after so it was actually gluten free. Hip place as well.

Mity Nice Grill was mity nice! I had been here once a long time ago and barely remember my experience in detail. However, I remember it being pretty good and family friendly. We had a reservation at Girl and a Goat for that evening. Not sure why, though I waited for months for a reservation there, each time I had to cancel. Our party grew and now it involved two toddlers and we decided to switch venue. I suggested Mity Nice Grill and everyone agreed. We were a little late due to traffic from Shedd Aquarium, but they were very accommodating with our reservation. No problem at all. When we got there, our table was set up with two high chairs and we were greeted right away with some cheesy poofs. It was like a mini popover but very cheesy. It was good. The table gobbled them up in no time! We ordered guacamole to start that was great! They’re garlicky, fresh, and had a little kick. Too bad the kids who usually liked avocado didn’t care for it because it was a little spicy. The adults loved it though. My sister who loves root beer was so impressed they had a whole root beer menu along with alcoholic root beer. My mom who loves French Onion soup boasted that it was best she had. It was pretty damn good I had to agree. It was soo cheesy and the soup itself was sweet from onion and not salty like it usually is. The chicken and kale soup was also delicious and light. Everyone seemed to enjoy their entrees. At first, we all wanted the fish special or the white fish in lemon butter sauce. However, most of us changed our mind since we just got back from Shedd Aquarium and didn’t have the heart to eat fish after looking at how they were swimming around totally alive in aquariums. Except, my heartless sister. My sister went with the fish special and loved it. I went with the terri d chicken that was so good and sister in law enjoyed her filet mignon pot roast. The kids had some mac and cheese that was pretty good as well. Desserts. The cookie skillet and the blueberry crostada were great! Yumm! Overall, the food was great! It was no surprise. We can always count on a Lettuce restaurant. Though not fancy and overly gourmet, it was a great family meal. Plus, prices were very reasonable. We also thought the dad from Family Ties was eating with his family on the table next to us. It was a mity nice meal. Parking can be validated if you parked at Water Tower with a minimum purchase of $ 10. A couple of low notes, refills were slow and they didn’t give us clean silverware for desserts. However, everything else was awesome.

We came in for an early lunch/late brunch planning to do some shopping damage on Michigan Ave after eating. At 11:30AM, the place was pretty empty despite the area teeming with tourists on the holiday weekend. I ordered the Apple Cinnamon French Toast, not really knowing what that would be. It turns out to be almost identical to the Cinnamon Apple Pancake for the Original Pancake House. Except it is about 2⁄3 the size and 2⁄3 the cost. That really isn’t a criticism. I LOVE the Cinnamon Apple Pancake at Original Pancake House, and I absolutely loved this dish as well — but it really wasn’t what I expected for French Toast. It has the advantage over the Pancake House version in that it is a more manageable size(the Original Pancake House version is really a meal for 2 very hungry people — this can be eaten by one with only moderate amount of guilt for overeating). My wife had the Chopped Chicken Salad which she said was terrific — also a huge portion. As a pass out before the meal, they gave gluten free pop overs that were very tasty. Overall, excellent food, excellent service, excellent ambiance. A definite 5 star rating.

Yeah, we ended up having our last meal in Chicago in what looked like a mall food court. What of it? For some reason, all the entrees were priced at only $ 15 for lunch that day. So I got a really juicy, tender skirt steak with a K2-sized pile of mashed potatoes for less than I spent on a single drink at other places in town. No complaints here. The salad that came with the entrée was a surprising treat. It’s sad that nowadays I get excited when someone has actual spring greens instead of gross iceberg or a pile of romaine hearts, but I guess we’ve come to that point of American history.(Our daughter’s daughters will look back on these days and wonder how we made it past them.) The cheesy popovers they serve before the meal are a chewy delight. The boozy root beer is a delight. The lemon mousse angel food cake is a sweet and tangy delight. Honestly, if you can get past the IKEA food court ambiance you have to walk through to get yourself to a table at Mity Nice, it’s really a great meal.

We were on our way to see a play when we decided to Have a drink, we were pointed back to mity nice and although we had a poor experience our first time we didn’t think just drinks will hurt. We walked in at 630. March 8th Sat at the bar. We ordered 2 Margaritas one subbed with vodka, and deviled eggs. When we received our food we were not offered plates napkins or flatware. We literally ate with our bare hands and no napkins. The bar seemed to have a lot of tickets. So we snatched our own napkin. Our drinks came. We got a vodka margarita and a cranberry crush. :/ As she gave us our drinks she realized that wasn’t what we ordered. I don’t know. I guess that’s the end of the review.
