Mista

So sad this place closed. It was my favorite place to stop for lunch during the week. Food was fast, fresh, and healthy. A little more expensive but worth it for fresh quality, organic ingredients. Really wish it would come back!

I can’t really rate it but they made me. I don’t think this place is even open still. The windows are covered with brown paper. .. I’ve been trying to check it out since they had their windows decorated for the holidays, but no dice.

*Dining Environment* — 0 star
Small. And during lunch time, the place is packed. But there’s enough movement to get a seat if you’re alittle patient.
*Food Presentation* — 1 star
It’s a pizza place, and all I got was the 10″ pepperoni, so it is what it is. However, I saw others get their signature pizzas and they looked great.
*Food Taste* — 1 star
I decided to try the pepperoni with a gluten-​free crust, just to see if it made any difference in the taste. To me, it didn’t taste any different from a regular thin crust pizza, meaning it tasted like a pizza should taste.
*Service* — 1 star
You order and pay for the pizza at the register and wait for them to call your number. I think mine took alittle longer than normal because it was made with the GF crust, plus it was around lunchtime. Not gonna dock points for that. What’s good is that someone’s there to quickly clean the tables whenever they free up.
*Bang for Buck (Value)* — 1 star
It was a pretty inexpensive lunch for a 10″ pizza and a soda. If I was hungrier I could probably get another 10″ or try something heartier (like the lasagna) and still pay relatively cheap.
*Verdict* — 4 star total. Great place if you want some quick italian food with gluten-​free options.

This pizza probably deserves a 4-​star rating, but the service and friendliness along with this being a somewhat healthy pizza choice in Chicago pushes this to being a 5-​star choice. I got the large pepperoni pizza. It was bigger than I thought it would be, possessed fewer calories, was extremely tasty, and it was very filling. I couldn’t even eat it all, and I can eat a lot!
You call in the order, and in 10 minutes, your pizza is ready. Perfect lunch time choice.

Gluten free galore!
They have delicious gluten free pizza, wraps, soups, and salads. They use Food for Life Brown Rice Wraps and I don’t know how they do it, but they heat them just right so they do not fall apart. (My experience working with Food for Life Brown Rice wraps hasn’t been so successful)
My suggestions: Get the gluten free Mista Wrap. You’ll love it. If you want pizza, any variety is good. Ask them to double the crust. They melt cheese in between 2 brown rice wraps so it’s a bit more sturdy. Plus cheesy goodness.
All of the employees are super nice and friendly. I’ve always had a great experience. Don’t forget to get a punch card… free pizza! (they even let me get a fancy flavor instead of the plain old cheese)

Gluten-​free pizza in the loop? Yes, please! Mista makes delicious GF pizza. Not only do they have your basic cheese, pepperoni, sausage, but Mista also offers all of their specialty pizzas with a gluten-​free crust. And they have a number of other GF options, including wraps and lasagna. Everything I’ve tried so far has been worth getting again, but my current favorite is the cheese pizza. Delicious and not too expensive = a great lunch.
Mista has become a staple in my lunch rotation.

Pizza is one of my favorite foods in the world and Mista pizza does a fantastic job.
1) price is reasonable. It’s around $ 10 for a personal size pizza. You’d probably spend around that much getting lunch on the loop.
2) quantity is just right meaning that you don’t pay a lot for a little. Pizzas are about 8 in in diameter
3) quality and taste are great. Cracker thin crust with very fresh toppings and great cheeses. The chicken pesto and vodka sauce based pizza are exquisite. The Bianca, Pesto and Clark are my favorites.
4) the place is a bit small and crowded Yeah– their online menu says comming soon for lunch but that just shows you the people running this place are doing a good job.
If you are in the loop definitely check it out. It also sounds like Mister pizza but as if a Mario or Luigi were saying it.

I was sure I’d have to hate this place, if for no other reason than it inhabits the space where my beloved Berry Chill used to live.
Alas, we already know I’m a fickle foodie and therefore: I *love* Mista! So good I’ve all but forgotten Berry Chill!
Lunching in the Loop is a mishmash of fast food joints and overpriced sit-​down restaurants. Rare is the middle establishment that actually serves healthy food too!
And then there’s Mista. If «healthy Italian» seems an oxymoron, try this place. You’ll be hooked. With the delicious salads and sandwich wraps (the Mista signature is what’s hot in the streets…), the delicious signature pizzas (Bianca, please!) and hearty soups (organic veggie any day, all day!) there are no duds on this menu.
Everything is made to order and can be customized to your taste — they also have gluten-​free options as well. Fresh, healthy, organic AND Italian? I will take it everyday of the week — and sometimes I do. They even serve Honest Tea! My only complaint is that they close at 3 p.m., which is awfully early when you’re slaving away in an office doing «the man’s» bidding and sometimes can’t break away *until* 3…
Mista is the perfect place to kick off your healthy-​eating 2012. Can’t beat it for the value or the quality.

This might be my favorite casual eatery in Chicago. There’s one near my office and one near my home and I am NEVER disappointed.
First of all, three cheers to Mista for having not only gluten-​free options, but also vegan options (the combination of which is VERY rare, and usually FAR more expensive). For someone with a lot of unmanageable allergies, this place is a Godsend to me.
In addition, the food is GOOD. Like, seriously good. Their gluten-​free pizza crust is really tasty and they have a wide variety of organic and locally-​grown toppings, so the menu never gets old.
Last, but certainly not least, the staff there is nothing short of fantastic. I’m greeted by name and treated like a first class citizen from the moment I walk through the door to the second I leave. Mark and Eddie genuinely care about their customers’ experiences and it really makes an impression.
I would (and do) recommend this place to anyone.

Fought through the drizzling rain to catch up with Mike S. after smelling all the good smells coming out of this place. Here’s the skinny:
1. Mista Salad — Everything was tasty, fresh, and the cherries are what really stood out. Respectable quantity for a $ 5ish salad. Yum.
2. Napolitano — Recommended by the cashier as her favorite (I couldn’t decide, and was glad she didn’t just recommend the most expensive). Let’s do this in order from bottom to top. The cracker thing crust was just right… it could have been a little bit crisper, but overall had a satisfying push/​crunch and was very thin… The tomato sauce itself was nothing to write home about, as the flavor didn’t have much impact. The toppings, however, made up for it. Each tomato was seasoned with salt and herbs which was more than made up for the sauce.
Overall, this is a solid choice for lunch that not only boasts fresh ingredients, but actually executes them quite well. Pizza pricing is for a 10 inch round, so don’t be surprised when you walk in to see pizzas at $ 9-​$ 14 range.
Verdict: I’d come back and enjoy some more! Excellent friendly service, good food, and reasonably priced.

I rarely give out 5 star ratings unless a place really above and beyond. I think this place is above and beyond.
It’s hard to give a 5 star rating for a lunch spot in the loop because people are usually in a hurry and food is just. well average and you usually go to your same spot that’s close or whatever.
Credit to my coworker who discovered this place with his nose…

maybe it’s a little slow to get your food, but its not like an assembly line, and pizza will definitely take longer. My wrap didn’t take much time at all.
If it were within a block from my office I would eat here everyday. All pluses in my book.

I feel a new obsession coming on thanks to eating the Mista Wrap today for lunch. It was by far the best wrap I have ever had.
You know how sometimes you get a wrap and for the most part it’s good, but then you take a bite and you get a chewy piece of chicken or wilted lettuce? Not here… the wrap was delicious from first bite to last. It also had the right ratio of all the ingredients. Nothing fell out or I didn’t get dressing all over my hands. And speaking of dressing, their signature dressing is heaven. They need to sell it because you know I would be first in line to buy it!
The restaurant is not very large, but it’s clean and has a nice outside area to eat. I was only in there for maybe 6 – 7 minutes because the food came out fast. It’s nice to know my wrap is made fresh though. The other food items on the menu sound great too and I think this weekend I might be making a stop to their Andersonville location for the bbq chicken pizza. Yum!
Overall a fantastic lunch place thats pretty inexpensive, tatsy and healthy. Did I mention I might become obsessed?!

Mista is a somewhat new restaurant on LaSalle Street, not too far from my office, where Berry Chill used to be. There are locations in Andersonville and Lakeview and this is their first restaurant in The Loop. On the menu is cracker crust pizza, gourmet salads, pasta and wraps. Mista is proud to use organic and all-​natural ingredients, when possible. Sounds like a winner right?
I thought I’d stop in for lunch one day. I ordered the Mista Salad — organic field greens, organic granny smith apples, organic dried cherries, toasted macadamia nuts, lowfat feta and the signature dressing. I placed my order at the counter and sat down to wait for my number to be called. I waited. And waited. The guy who took my order kept looking right at me, so I just tried to be patient. He knew I was there. He could see I’d been waiting a while. He hadn’t forgotten about me.. I thought. Before long I realized I’d been waiting 25 minutes. For a salad! I went up to the counter to see what was what and the guy who took my order, who I thought had his eye on me, apologized and checked on the order. Within minutes I had my salad and he threw in a bag of homemade chips to make up for it.
I was running late for a meeting at this point, so I just went right to a conference room and ate while we talked. I remember really liking the salad, but honestly, it’s kind of a blur.. I was working, and by then so hungry, I just ate it.
I was at a crossroads after my first visit. Liked the salad, had to wait almost a half hour to get it. I decided to give them one more try a few weeks after my first visit. I ordered the same salad and this time I got my order within a few minutes. When I got back to my office and opened the salad I noticed it was like 95% greens and hardly any toppings. I like it when you get a bit of the extras in every bite and that for sure was not happening with this salad. I felt like I could go to the store and buy a bag of mixed greens and have the same lunch. Bah! I don’t know if this is how the first salad was, honestly, because I was working through that one. but I don’t think I’ll be giving Mista a third chance.

I love a healthy lunch. Typically, I bring my lunch to work but on some days I forget or didn’t have time to prepare a lunch and I have to go out. On Mary T.‘s suggestion, I tried Mista.
The menu is full of healthy options (wraps and salads) and not-​so healthy options (pizza and pasta), but everything is organic and fresh. They even have a roasted vegetable lasagna that is made without pasta and is gluten free. Holla back, celiacs!
I was impressed with the variety of salads — a total of seven! But on this day, I was feeling like I needed something more substantial and more carb’ie. So instead of a salad, I opted for a Mista Wrap.
The Mista Wrap consists of field greens, roasted chicken, granny smith apples, dried cherries, roasted macadamia nuts, a thin slice of provolone cheese, and Mista’s signature dressing (a sweet mustard based vinaigrette.) It was healthy, satisfying, and with a price tag of $ 5.95 it was budget and waistline friendly.

I am always excited when a new lunch spot hits the loop as I have worked downtown for years and sometimes lunch can get redundant. I noticed they opened up in the former Berry Chill spot (I liked that place).
Walked over with a co-​worker last week and was greeted at the door by one of their employees. Line wasn’t bad for 12:15. She ordered one of their organic pizzas which she let me have a slice of. It was ok, but did not blow me away. I had eaten lunch already so I wasn’t hungry. She did tell me the Mista wrap was something special though.
I came back the next day and ordered the Mista Wrap ($ 5.95). The Mista Wrap includes organic green, organic granny smith apples, roasted chicken, roasted macadamia nuts, organic dry cherries, provolone cheese and their signature Mista dressing. You have the option of organic wheat, flour or spinach pita. I went with the Organic wheat the first time around. That wrap was everything she said it was… pretty damn good! I came back the next day and got the same wrap, but went with the spinach pita this time around… even better! The Meatball Wrap is also great! Great flavor and surprisingly doesn’t over fill you.
Everything here is fresh and organic, so you get your money’s worth. You have the option of dining in or taking out. You can also call your order in for pickup. The lines haven’t been too bad the three times I have been there, but that could change once it gets consistantly warm

My lunch buddy and I both loved this place with the only drawback being the limited seating, I had the Florentine pizza on wheat crust. The wait time was only about 5 minutes, which seemed reasonable enough. When I opened the bag that the pizza was wrapped in, I hesitated before taking my first slice. The pizza was beautiful! The ingredients all looked so fresh and vibrant I didn’t want to disturb it! The 10 inch pizza was more than I could eat by myself, but every bite was delicious.
My friend ordered vegetable soup and a wrap. The soup was full of large chunks of vegetables full. The soup was so filling that she brought the wrap back to the office.
The floor manager is friendly, welcoming and charming. The one reviewer who likened him to a washroom attendant was way off on that comparison. I appreciated that this gentleman truly seemed to care that our lunch experience was a positive one. It was and we will be back for another lunch.

Mista, part two.
I was excited to learn that Mista had opened a Loop location, in the old Berry Chill spot, and within a reasonable walk from my office. I usually bring my lunch to work, so when I do venture out (especially outside of my 2 block lunch zone) it has to be worth it. In this case the draw was both the food and the company; I had been turned on to Mista’s organic specialty pizzas at their Lakeview location.
Since I had already tried the Napolitano and Florentine pizzas, I decided to go with the Bianca. The Bianca is a white sauce pizza with ricotta, plum tomatoes and fontinella cheese. Just like the Florentine, it was delicious. I also had the opportunity for a mini do-​over on the Napolitano, tasting a hot slice from my friend’s plate. It was definitely better than the first one I had, but I think my favorite overall is the Florentine with the Bianca coming in a close second. Maybe one day I’ll branch out and try some of the pastas and salads, but it’s hard when the pizzas are so unique and tasty.
The interior contains a few tables and a bar with stools; I highly recommend dining in for an optimal pizza experience. Even though they don’t offer table service, everyone I encountered was friendly. The greeter even noticed us squinting at the menu across the room — trying to figure out the names of the pizzas we ordered — and quickly popped over with a couple of menus to assuage our eyes.
If you’re a fan of places like Hannah’s Bretzel and don’t mind paying a little bit more for fresh, quality ingredients, I think you’ll like Mista. Just be sure you eat your pizza in, the thinness of it makes it cool off rather quickly.

So pleasantly surprised!
I have a homing device that alerts me when a new place opens up in the Loop that has potential. I hadn’t heard of this place but research told me that their other locations had decent reviews from trusted Unilocalers. I looked over their online menu and while it *sounded* really good, there was really only one way to find out…
I walked in and two people greeted me warmly. I placed my order for a ‘Napolitano’ pizza on white crust and had to wait about 5 minutes or so for it to be prepared, so I believe they’re cooked to order (or at least partially). Their salads looked really good too, so I made a mental note to come back and try them at a later date.
I got back to my office and the pizza had cooled off quite a bit. I was too lazy to microwave it (as I’d have to take an elevator ride to do it) so I just ate it lukewarm.
It was so tasty and flavorful. The crust was cracker thin, and everything — the sauce, tomatoes and cheese — was fresh and delicious. The sauce was just sweet enough, the tomatoes were ripe, there was the perfect amount of cheese, the arugula added a nice peppery bite, and the absolute best part — huge chunks of roasted garlic and drizzled olive oil on top. I couldn’t believe I ate the whole thing, and that it was that good, despite being cold.
I am now a fan and plan to go back and try more pizzas (they have several kinds) and salads. Wraps, lasagna, and even desserts (bread pudding and chocolate cake) round out the menu. Everything is organic, and there’s a nice selection of Italian sodas too.

Mista is a nice addition to the Loopy set of lunch spots. It actually used to be last summer’s fresh yogurt wonder, Berry Chill. I’ll miss my warm-​weather delight of yogurt with the goodies on top, but I was glad to make my acquaintance to a new sit-​down, Italian eatery.
The food was pretty good. I tried the Mista wrap first and their super thin, florentine pizza on my next round was tasty too, although a little flimsy. Everything tasted huber-​fresh, so I felt as though I was «gifting» my body with healthy treats. Kudos to them for having a customer loyalty program.
Everyone was all grins, making sure they snagged repeat customers with their great customer service. I’m not sure if the people standing by the door are owners, greeters or what, but I only received one hello.
Even still, I’ll return.

The food here is really good. I had a cheese pizza and my friend had the spinach lasagna. They were fast, and very friendly. It recently opened so the manager was very busy making sure everybody was happy.
They have several options when it comes to what kind of crust you want for your pizza, like plain, wheat, or gluten free. And the food is organic.
My friend got a little ill after eating her spinach lasagna. I told her she should have said something to the manager before, but she wasn’t sure if it was the lasagna or something she had this morning, so if your lasagna doesn’t taste or feel right, texture-​wise, let them know right away.
