Great little spot with a ton of potential. It was a little hard to find from the outside, but the inside environment was super nice and welcoming. I was very impressed with its selection of drinks. There were great craft beers on tap, a decent selection of wine, and fantastic variety of spirits. Josh was my bartender, and he made an incredible old fashioned. Their menu looked good, prices seemed reasonable. It was«Taco Tuesday» when I went so I ordered their steak taco’s. Next time I come back, I’ll be sure it’s on a Tuesday again because the tacos were the best. All in all, I highly recommend Mila. Their hours are on the shorter side, only open 4p-8p, but I could really see this place becoming one of my new Chicago favorites.

I’ve been working in the building above this bar and it’s been quite interesting to see how this bar has shifted ownership over the last several months. When it first launched it was awful. Over the last few months, it’s really started to turn around. They have cool promotions like Taco Tuesdays. Last week they had super bomb pizza on Friday. I was talking to the staff and they say that there are cool plans in the works. The food is actually really good. Very simple. But good. Good guacamole. Dope sliders. Really excellent lobster roll. The wedge salad was a little gross. The charcuterie plate is really not very good. Beverages are good. Josh makes great classic cocktails and the price is right. I don’t know much about wine, but they’ve got a big wine menu and the wines I’ve tried are pretty good. Similar reports from my friends. The place is right across the street from Ogilvie Train Station. So I’ll meet her with my colleagues who live in the suburbs after work. It certainly beats walking all the way to Randolph and Halsted. Overall, good place with good trajectory and I think it’ll get better! Really good spot for people who want a nice happy hour spot at the end of a long day of work.

Great mixologist, good food, lots of potential. I stopped in there tonight having spotted it through the window on the way to Starbucks. The interior offers several different seating arrangements from couches flanking the(faux) fireplace to the typical stools along the bar. Later this season al fresco seating will be available on the sidewalk on North Clinton. The menu is limited but promising. Further, it is expected to soon offer a wider selection of small plates. I selected the lobster roll. Having grown up in part just outside of Boston I was skeptical. Happily, it was pretty good. The bread itself was spot on New England style and it contained a geneous portion of lobster. In addtion, the dressing was refreshing and light. Ask for a fresh lemon wedge or two to enhance the flavor. Per Aleks’ suggestion, my roll was accompanied by a great peachy sauvignon blanc. Later Aleks showed off his masterful mixology skills in his version of a drink called«The Last Word.» It was fabulous. Overall this place should stay on your radar especially as the weather improves. Between the Aleks’ mixology skills, the friendly staff and the al fresco dining, this place could be a hit. My only disappointment is that the small menu presently does not offer a small«dessert» plate. That has to change!

Limited choices and operating hours. Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. The location is close to the train station without attracting the train station crowd. It’s only small plates but try the Jumbo Crabcake as an appetizer.

Has potential, but fails to impress. Nice friendly staff. Food was even pretty good(flatbread and another appetizer). BUT: had to ask twice for water and ordered a 2nd beer that was never delivered. Open 3 months yet still no sign out front. Menu has no details, so you have to ask. Menu says happy hour til 6:30pm, but waiter explained it was til 6 so he can’t do anything. Discount was only 10% — not worth arguing. Management clearly doesn’t care and this«oh well» attitude comes thru everywhere. Too bad — won’t be back and won’t recommend.

This place is a big disappointment. Located in the middle of nowhereville but seem to have river north drink prices. $ 12 for rail whiskey and Coke. $ 17 for Jameson rocks. Very limited beer selections. Tap only. Staff is really friendly but doesn’t know what’s in their bar. Asked our server what kind of whiskey they had. And she didn’t know and named Jim Beam. She then asked the bar tender and she said we only have Jameson or Jim Beam. So I order a Jameson and soon after I look up at their bar and see bottles of Johnny Walker Black label, a Glenlivet and other kinds of whiskey and scotch. Cmon man, how do you not know what’s behind the bar — and you’re a «bar tender». Btw theyve been open for several months now and the staff still looks very lost.

Nicely set up. However, the drink menu shows beer($ 7 for Great Lakes Brewery Edmund Fitzgerald). A little higher than other local establishments. My group and I figured ok, a little bit higher than our usual at other places(Johnnie Walker Black on the rocks). This usually costs us $ 8-$ 12 anywhere we go. They charge $ 28. Quite a bit jump. We didn’t try the food and with prices like this, you will not keep good clientele. We are a little upscale, we won’t pay that much for Black label. Unless, we are going to buy it at Costco.

I am not sure what to think about this place. I have up and down reviews of this place. The staff was very friendly well versed on the menu. My waitress Michelle was absolutely amazing. She was friendly and kind making great suggestions. Kitchen has a few bugs to work out but they are new and I completely understand. Now for the downsides of my visit. We were sitting at the bar on this evening which was a Thursday and I recalled sitting at the bar next to a man who decided to talk very loudly that he was the owner of this place. Now upon asking the staff he apparently is a owner. Well that’s where my issues are. As a owner you do not sit at the bar and drink glass after glass of wine. Or better yet you do not wear torn jeans and a t shirt and a knit hat. Show some class and dress the part. I won’t be returning back to this location until it has replaced the«owner» which I am assuming is just some silver spoon in my mouth hipster child of the real owners has been grounded and not sitting at the bar his parents own ruining my night.

The place with the giant«COMINGSOON» signs is finally open. Mila One is only open weekdays 11am-8pm, so it’s strictly a businessman’s lunch and happy hour kind of place. That said, the food menu is rather limited, as is the selection of beers on tap. Since they’ve only just opened, there are a lot of kinks to roll out(e.g. timely service, portion proportions, etc) but if you work in the area or have time to kill before a train, this isn’t a bad option. When I visited, the five or six big TVs over the bar were all shut off, but there was faint music playing in the background. The space is separated with one half having all café-esque tables, and the other with the bar, high top tables, and a communal table. The lighting was kind of harsh, and the whole place had a hotel lobby vibe. So while it lacks the personality to become the«cheers» type of bar, it has the necessary drinks and bites for a viable post work pit stop. Happy Hour is from 4 – 6:30(no tax on your bill).
