Midwest Autobahnd

I was originally acquainted with Ross from Midwest Autobahnd due to a prior dealer-​installed Autobahnd on a BMW when I lived in Boston. He was extremely helpful, and so I decided to go with Roadblock — Midwest Autobahnd for my new vehicle. My other vehicle had the paint protective film installed by the Autobahnd in Boston 3 years ago, so I am familiar with the product. Since I do a lot of highway driving and road trips, I hate the plethora of small chips in the paint.
I was offered the paint protective film through the dealership when the vehicle arrived, but I wanted to have the paint protective film installed by someone with more experience and wanted to add additional optional coverage with which the dealership installer has little experience. I was able to choose a standard package offering with options, but I was also able to request specifics that are often not typically offered by competitors (full hood treatment, door handle protection, etc). Additionally, they perform installations for multiple dealerships, so they have significant experience with a variety of vehicles. Arranging an appointment and locating their garage on Lake and Des Plaines was easy, and I was able to wait nearby for the installation.
Looking at the finished product, I have to admit that I am significantly more impressed compared to the installation done in Boston 3 years ago. Mind you, Roadblock is using a newer type of paint film, but the pieces fit so seamlessly that I had a hard time identifying protected areas. Of course, with close scrutiny you can find the faint line/​edge with a partial hood treatment of any paint film, these installers were able to hide many of the edges around the front of the vehicle and around headlights.
Pricing of the paint protective film depends on whether you have it installed at the dealership or directly by the installer. Of course the dealership may be more expensive and convenient, but dealing directly with the installer is almost 50% the cost. You can get significantly more coverage for the same price, especially is you decide to do something less common like full hood treatment.
Ross also gave specific care instructions for the protected areas, as I either wash my own car or take it to a hand car wash for detailing. I am a fanatic about my vehicles, and am happy with the general experience of paint protective film and specifically with Roadblock. If possible, I will return with my future vehicles.

Luxury cars and Chicago road wear and tear often times don’t go together. So since sitting at home because I don’t want dings and stone chips on my new car doesn’t really work for me, I did the next best thing and put a «shield» on my new car to help keep the paint looking new.
Roadblock applies a thin film (Venture Shield is the brand name) to any areas of your car that you want protected. Hate those stone chips on the hood? Apply the film. Parallel park and end up with those scratches on your bumper from the car behind? Apply the film. Slide your golf clubs or other equipment into your trunk? Protect the edge. Apply the film. The film has a lifetime warranty and I’ve seen the results on several of my friend’s cars and even after 5 years of road damage– their cars still look like new.
You have a choice of protection levels, half the hood, the whole hood, back, etc. They were very easy to deal with and offered up several suggestions on what areas to cover and painstakingly applied the film beautifully to many areas of the car. They easily spent 7 hours working on my car and the results show their care. Ross and Cheryl were great to work with and even took the time to follow up after the application to ensure everything was okay.
While the office address is on Polk, the actual garage where they do the work is at Lake and Des Plaines. When you make your appointment, they will give you the directions on how to drop off your car, etc.
The cost is reasonable, given what we all pay for a car today. All in for the entire hood, fenders, bumpers, side mirrors, door guards and trunk ledge, my total bill was only about $ 1400. And this has a lifetime warranty.
I am not a car fanatic but I do appreciate the beauty of a new car no matter whether it’s a luxury car or basic transportation. You can keep yours looking better longer with this service. If this product works as well for me as it has for my friends, I can easily see this becoming a 5 star review in the future.
