On January 17th. When we arrived, the environment was a fun and friendly atmosphere. The DJ was awesome, and the crowd was wildly incredible. However, our experience with the very evil, rude and racist bartender ruined my opinion of the establishment. At around 2:30 am, my friends, and I ordered a round of shots and received service from a man who identified his name as «Steve». My friend explained that he received the wrong drink, and that’s when the Bartender aka«Steve» cursed us out and said, STEVE: «You Mother Fucking People always up in here trying to change shit, drink what the fuck you ordered.» I explained that it must be a mistake and asked him to please being so disrespectful and he said«FUCKYOUBITCH» You can get the FUCK Outta here and refused to give us our change. We paid 40 dollars for two drinks that were 10 dollars each. So not only did he disrespect us, he stole from us as well.

Over price and guy at the door was rude. I left card at the bar when they rushed us out at the need of bar crawl and went to ask for it back, bouncer was so rude and told me it was impossible for card to be there. Long story short the manager had to go and get my card. Don’t go there ever

This place is awesome! Came here for Halloween and what a fun atmosphere. There were a lot of people in groups but I was just with my best friend and we had a great time. If they’re still serving them definitely get the mojito

Gate The guy at the gate has his own rules. Sometimes admission is free sometime they charge. Some people are charged and some are not charged at all. Even for girls, if you are pretty you are free to enter with not charge, and if not, then the charges vary. Atmosphere I saw guys dancing more than girls. Not what I wanted. Crappy service from crappy bartenders.

I went here for a friends birthday. I had never been and he reserved an area for us. Upon arriving I could already tell it was my style. Everyone looked so good, environment was cute and the staff was extremely nice and accommodating. I absolutely loved my experience. The music was diverse, which is really important. I danced the whole night and met incredible people. Looking forward to going back.

Waste of space. Weak drinks, terrible food, pathetic customer service. Best anecdote: Ordered tuna carpaccio and it came out smelling like rotten garbage. I told the waitress it didn’t smell fresh and she gave me an uncomfortable, awkward smirk like she was thinking, «Yeahhhh it’s kind of a problem here, but I’m not going to do anything more to fix the problem,» and then asked if I wanted another drink. Don’t bother. Just another characterless sh*thole in River North.

Clubbing/barhopping is a difficult to judge. There are so many things that can affect a consumer’s experience that are completely out of the venue’s control. For this reason, I will try to rate this joint to the best of my ability on things that I feel they accomplish as a venue. Music: Great mix. Not all house or trance thank goodness. I love me a mix of unce unce music but you just can’t dance to it like hip hop. Drinks: Standard price in downtown. Don’t expect college bar prices or vegas prices, more so in the middle. Space: Has two spaces with three bars. Pretty spacious overall. Only cons are that it is sort of far down Hubbard away from everything else and that it is too loud. Very difficult to carry on a conversation unless you are directly facing the other person’s ear.

I went here for a day party this weekend. I am reading the reviews and they are pretty bad. ***I did not eat here… this review is for the bar and the décor. The inside of this place is super cute! I did not feel like I was in boring Chicago, it reminded me a bit of Miami. The drinks were perfect and not watered down. I would recommend for late night drinks, because of the atmosphere and lighting.

My friends and I went here for a birthday party. Got there around midnight and there was a crowd. I’m no stranger to waiting in line, but this place needs to get it together. People are on either side of the entrance and then you have people hanging out in the front. Where is the line? Highly disorganized. You have one door guy telling you that the list is closed for a party but it’s not. No communication. One of the guys at the door was a douche. Stood in line and I thought, «This place better be worth the wait.» Nope. Drinks were average. Music was less than. The DJ kept mixing genres too quickly. Stick with one for more than 30 seconds. First, it’s hip hop, then it’s Top 40, then alternative. Huh? Confusing. I don’t plan on returning to Mercer 113.

Definitely one of those places you end the night. We’ve had many an interesting evening at this place for dancing and ridiculousness. Sometimes the people here can get a little feisty and the drinks are average and customer service ok. If you’re looking for a place that plays some current trance type club music, it’s the place to go, people watch, meet and dance with people who like to party. We had reservations for a group and they did a great job of getting us in and taking care of the folks involved. Otherwise, it’s not so much a place to begin the evening. This is one of those places where the next day you wonder what happened the night before and always makes for a good story for locals.(But you’re not missing anything if you don’t make it here if you’re visiting Chicago).

I had friends in from out of town and they had heard of all these beautiful clubs in Chicago that they wanted to go to. Mercer was one of them. After call on Thursday and speaking with someone on the phone that we would be fine. We get there and the door guy is a total bigoted twit. I stood there while a large group of women with less pifment walked up and just asked to go in and he said yes i said can we go in. His reply to me sorry no reservations no entry. After watching this happen several times we just left.

I’ve never written a Unilocal review but I feel so strongly about my terrible experience here tonight that I feel it’s necessary. To start with; $ 20 cover, and the bouncer was extremely rude. I couldn’t be paid $ 20 to come here again. Ultimately my friend and I went to the bar and ordered two drinks — gave the bartender our credit card(she was pretty drunk and was stumbling around the bar– tall brunette, you might recognize her) and never got the card back. Never got an explanation for why, and when we asked for the card back for the second time, she had two of the security guys take us out of the bar. After talking to the manager outside, he gave us his card and told him to text him later on and said he’d «hook us up» — when we did, he seemed like he didn’t understand the situation and told us to call the office. I would only understand losing a card if a tab was open — but no tab was open, and we were at the bar the entire the time. Two simple drinks. The bartender was just too drunk/incompetent to do her job, and when she realized she made a mistake, she resorted to removing two sober paying customers from the bar for speaking up. Not only is this place a waste of time and money, but their employees are thieves and liars. It wasn’t fun while we were there either, If I’m being honest. I will never be coming back to this bar again, and I recommend anyone else who is considering coming here to think twice unless they want to be treated like garbage and have their cards stolen.

I partied like there was no tomorrow here. My friends and I were heading there for one of my friend’s birthday. There is a dress code to get into the bar. It makes sense though. The bar is nicer than you average bar. There also wasn’t any cover. I guess they know you’re going to pay a lot at the bar. Inside it was spacious and it was very easy to get a drink. We came on a Saturday night and it wasn’t that crowded. I love that about this bar. It also has a very unique look to its setup. It just makes you feel like you’re in an exclusive bar, even though anyone can get on as long as they dress nice.

Drinks were awful. For $ 14 each I expect something better– bf and I couldn’t even drink them they were that bad. It’s a red flag when the bar back is making whiskey drinks. Taste your drinks before you pay. I regret tipping for garbage. The space is actually good for an event as it’s not too small. Music was ok. Crowd was fine. Won’t waste my money here again.

I didn’t try the food, but others said it was good. I attended an event at Mercer 113 and it was a great place. The décor is modern and clean. They have a large area for seating and the bar is big enough to accommodate a large group. The bartenders on the other hand get overwhelmed very quickly when a large crowd is around. People aren’t being rude they are just waiting for their turn, so theres no reason for the bartenders to look like they are pissed off at everyone. *shrugs* No one told you to be a bartender if you don’t like people. Go grab your sweater and car keys and leave if you don’t want to serve people! Other than bartenders who look like they don’t want to be bothered with so many people it’s a cool spot to hang out. Yes, the music is loud, but what’s wrong with leaning in to talk, nothing right? Bring your gum, or breath mints, because the only way you are going to be heard in this place is if you are comfortable talking in someones ear.

We had an absolute BLAST at Mercer this past weekend. It was like a family party. Literally. M was bouncing around in circles(occasionally bumping into people). Friend Jon bounce danced too but he also ran Red Bull and vodka back and forth between the bar and our table, paying for it each time. And then there was more. At first we patted ourselves on the back for snagging a table, but then that hot server girl from Miami introduced herself and curtly told us that we would need to order from her if we wanted to use the table. Whatevs. She was rarely there. In fact, I don’t know what she brought us other than $ 5 bottles of Voss water and one laughable rendition of a Manhattan for M. M was stupid drunk after 2:00AM and delightedly said, «Oh! Seventy five dollars?! I expected her to screw us over!» That’s right. A sober person(like myself) would have realized that $ 75 was incredulous. Later we even discussed a run down of what we ordered from the hot Miami server girl and(besides what I listed previously) came up dry. Today we noticed that there wasn’t one $ 95.52($ 75 with a $ 20 tip) charge but two! One for $ 95.52 and one for $ 69.82! What the hey??? The $ 75 charge wasn’t even kosher, but we were willing to go along with it. That extra pocket gouging was just too much. Okay okay. Enough of that. We’re going to dispute that charge and write this review giving them the one star they deserve for that underhanded move. We had a great time. I don’t know if anyone else had a great time because our group of six along with two newly recruited friends were the only ones dancing even though there was no dance floor. The music was familiar and exciting to us. However, we agreed that the fun of the evening was because of the company and not because of Mercer.
