A late night Cabbie-type of dive. Paki food. Although it’s notable that of my two visits, I’d never seen cabbies in there.(Note:) If you see cabbies(Cab drivers), you have some comfort in knowing that there is a crew of people that enjoy the food enough to have it at any time. But with a lack thereof, one could use that as a sign. Well, at least at the dives found East of Western avenue. This place is a dump. If you are a foodie, you have no business here so don’t bother. That isn’t a request, it’s a warning from one to another. And I’m no «foo-foo» foodie, but I know enough about food to know what’s reheated and old, versus made to order and fresh. The stuff served is microwaved in a bowl. The contents scooped from a large vat that was prepared previously in the week.(You know microwaved food because of the way a bowl of soup or curry doesn’t get uniformly heated. A person needs to stir the bowl and reheat again. Which doesn’t happen) Their biryani as well, blows. It’s rice mixed with a little meat and biryani mixture. Boooooring, but the meals are affordable. My first visit was with a West coast Unilocal-friend interested in checking out the late night Indian food scene. When I mentioned grabbing«Devon Indian food» for our late-night-post-booze-fueled grub, my buddy was all too eager. My usual go-to, had closed, unfortunately. But, that’s the usual story this side of Western avenue. We happened on this dumpy place and decided to order.(Actually, we walked into Clifton grill on the previous block, but couldn’t find anyone working the counter so we left and jetted back here.) The tables were sticky, always a bad sign but it was(comfortable temperature inside during cold season) warm enough to eat. Part of the experience was marred due to some unruly patrons. Young, shithead Paki-kids that were trying to act like gangsters, doling us «dirty looks» and shit talk in Urdu /Hindi. I’ve heard stories from people that have experienced the same from said, shitheads. During the late night, these sorts of shenanigans can happen. The guys manning the restaurant were MIA in dealing with the unscrupulous lot.

I’m glad I gave this Resturant a try! This place had great chicken 65. Chicken boti was also delicious. I was splendidly surprised…, chicken 65 was like $ 5.00 bucks, I got the chicken boti meal which was $ 8.00 bucks, it included two pieces of bread, rice, daal…
