Dropped off my sons pea coat to have dry cleaned &2 buttons sewn on. Pre-paid $ 21. Went to pick it up with the receipt & clerk said someone else picked it up w/o a receipt. She claimed that if the coat wasn’t in the store then we must have picked it up. She refused to reimburse for the prepaid amount or the coat. She even refused to engage in conversation regarding the coat. Manor dry cleaner is irresponsible & shouldn’t be trusted.

I have mixed feelings about this cleaner. I want to love them, but I just can’t. Manor cleaner is right across the street for me, and part of the small businesses in ravenswood, which is why I want to love/support them! The women working there are nice, and you can tell that they put their whole life into running that company. Unfortunately, they charge extremely unreasonable prices! On top of that it took a week for me to get my clothes back. I brought in two peacoats to be laundered & two pairs of jeans to be shortened. I was told it would take approx 5 days for the coats and same with the pants! I was confused, because the woman didn’t seem that busy(she was watching tv when I came in). When I came to pick up my items I was charged $ 68! My jaw hit the floor. I didn’t do the math in my head until I got across the street & back up to my apartment… I probably could go fight with her about the price, but it’s not worth it. On a positive note– my jeans were hemmed perfectly, and my peacoats lost most of the dog hair covering.

I have been using this place for the eight years I’ve lived in the hood. They are super friendly and treat customers well. Are they perfect? No, it is a small operation. But they always make things right and their hours and location are awesome.

I’ve generally been happy with Manor Cleaners. The prices are fair and the mother and daughter who are there are incredibly friendly. They’ve always had our cleaning done on-time. The one or two times where something didn’t come back perfectly clean, they offered to re do it. There have also been two or three times when a zipper came back damaged, though, and we had to pay to have it replaced.

Convenient but they often would not remove stains from ties and shirts. I switched to Ruby Cleaners on Montrose. Much better.

Uh oh! Smackdown at Manor Cleaner! My otherwise calm, cool and collected better half went there today to pick up my down coat and to find out WHY the hell it cost $ 30 to sew a 3 inch unraveled coat zipper. And according to my beloved(«B»), well, it wasn’t pretty… The young — I mean, really young — girl who works there gave B a really hard time when all B wanted to know was what cost so much. Just as we surmised — they dry cleaned the damn thing when she said NOT to — I just needed the rip/hole sewed. B said«I am not paying for a dry cleaning I didn’t ask for» and the young twit calls her mom who I guess is the manager or something and then the heavily accented foreign mom was screaming so loud over the phone that B could hear her yadda yadda ya… The girl got snotty — the mom was a lunatic — B stuck to her guns — B had to pay $ 25 instead of $ 30 to remove my coat from what could have potentially turned into a hostage coat situation. B was SO pissed off she said she slapped her hand down on the counter and said«if your mother was here, I would rip her throat out at how you’ve handled this and treated me.» Whoa! My girlie has grown some OVARIES! I would like to personally thank Manor Cleaner for turning my normally sweet, soft-spoken, kind and non-confrontational non-assertive partner into a no-holds barred don’t-fuck-with-me Amazon. Manor Cleaner — ten thumbs down.
