Yummy, fresh made Mexican food in the middle of the Maxwell St. Market on Sundays. Take a break from browsing through stuff you probably don’t need to get some of the best tacos in Chicago. Homemade tortillas, fresh meat and delicious toppings. My mom doesn’t like Mexican food and she thought they were delicious. I can’t wait to try them again.

I recently made another visit to Maxwell Street Market and ate here. Still 5 stars. The prices are excellent, and the food is delicious and cooked fast right in front of you when you order. When I have visitors coming from outside of Chicago, I bring them to eat at Manolo’s Taqueria to show them what is great about this city.

Where is the restaurant & what is the phone number? How do you find them the other six days of the week? I have eaten there a million times but can’t find the business.

The homemade tortillas pretty much says it all. While you wind your way through the line to the front, you watch the family members assemble the food — with one person assigned to make the tortillas… and it is all she can do just to keep up. Great tacos at a little stop along the Maxwell Street Market. This place is worth the try. We had a steak taco and it was just perfect. Nice tender steak and red onions in the homemade tortilla. As fresh as it comes. We will give nearby Rubi’s a try, but as far as we are concerned Manolo’s holds it own and doesn’t make you wait in a line a block long. Go Manolo’s Taqueria.

Manolo’s is good… but Rubi’s is better. Went to MSM to check this place about specifically because Unilocalers said it ‘might’ be better than Rubi’s. I thought, wow, this is going to be amazing. I have to say, yes, its good and a much shorter line than Rubi’s, but my heart still belongs to her. RUBI’s WINS! I guess I am a lesbian inside.

Seriously best tacos I have ever had. I had steak and it was so delish’ the handmade tortillas were great too. Only problem is it’s far away from where I live and we don’t get down here very often.

$ 2 steak taco’s with hand-pressed masa tortillas? This is a better deal than the 10-lb box of Del Monte bananas you’re thinking about buying. Everything here is fresh. The meats are quality cuts of beef — the wait may take 10 – 20 minutes, so feel free to stand next to the grillmaster and watch the flank steaks curl up in the smoker. Enjoy it with a bottle of Mexican cola and you just might forget about a few of the worries you came here with. What a gem. It alone is worth the Sunday stroll to Maxwell’s Street.

All the food here is great, their homemade hot sauce puts it over the top. It’s the busiest shack at Maxwell St., but for good reason. My Mexican friend(Fredy) said the fungus is great. The Al pastor tacos/quesadillas are awesome.

Best quesadillas ever! If you aren’t a fan of cheese, then best tacos ever! :) Enchilada’s aren’t bad, but a little hard to eat, so I think I’ll go with huaraches next time. I’ve had their steak tacos with cilantro/onion which were great. The chorizo quesadilla was really really good, and had a spicy kick to it. They have really delicious food, and every time I try anything new here, I end up thinking it tastes pretty damn good. They only exist during Maxwell street, I’ve been going here for about a year every few weeks. :P And they are consistently awesome.
