I’m very disappointed and still quite hungry as I will not be finishing my dinner. I ordered a steak taco dinner. It was quite bland and comprised mainly of fat. I’m not entirely sure how this place is open with all of these other competing restaurants right nearby. I will most certainly not be returning.

Went today and the food was bad and expensive … Never again … the one on 26st is way better … the meat was chewy by that I mean like gum and the chicken was dry in the tacos … the only thing was the beans that was good and the rice was horrible had to mix it with the beans to even eat it…

One of my favorite things about this place is the«Carne en su jugo». This soup has bacon, beans, peaces of stake. The fact is the it’s addictive. We ordered a large bucket of the soup to go and it comes with only package of tortillas. You also get pepper, lime, onion, radish and avocado. Our avocados where a bit old and I wish we got a little more tortillas. People here are very friendly and nice. We didn’t get to wait that long for our food. If you havd never had carne en su jugo you should definitely try it. Definitely recommend this place. I will come back again.

I love los gallos! Always great service and food. The carne en su Jugo and tacos al pastor are the best. Also they have fresh orange juice and carrot juice pretty good. Always clean and they never messed up your order like other restaurants in the area. I recommend this place 90% for the food. the only bad part is that they only take cash but it’s worth it get a carne en su jugo and ask for the oil chile.

The carne en su jugo is right on point! Delicious, the service is not the greatest but the food takes the 5 stars

I’m very disappointed went for dinner and since I forgot to get cash before going, they only accept cash. I decided to use the ATM located as soon as ur enter and of course it wasn’t working. So I told the girl working that it wasn’t working and she just shrugged her shoulders and said oh I guess it has no money… Good thing Husband had some cash on him… So I ordered a tostada of ceviche then she comes back and tells me that they don’t have it because the ceviche needs a lot lime and they don’t have limes. Very, very disappointed won’t be going back!!!

I had carne en su jugo for the first time here and it was the first of many. It was served hot with plenty of fresh cilantro and onion. The meat was very tasty but I could have done without the beans. I added some of the spicy pickles veggies from the container on the table which made it even better. The soup is served with warm corn tortillas that apparently you’re supposed to soak in the broth. We also tried the lengua, al pastor, and tripe tacos. Lengua and al pastor were the bomb but the tripe was not so great – it tasted like salted crispy fried metal to me. I have also had the shrimp cocktail which seems a little pricy for the amount but it was still good. Avocados are served with just about everything and they’re really fresh and good! The place is cash only but there’s an ATM inside. Service is super fast!!!

Carne en su jugo is definitely the specialty at this place. You can never go wrong with it. Being a regular here, I would definitely recommend getting the meat in it «well done» or «doradita» and adding salsa and lime. And nothing like the house’s horchata to accompany your meal. If you’re not into soup or whatever, I definitely also recommend the tacos de tripitas or pastor. Not a fan of the barbacoa to be honest. The service is nice and very attentive. The owner is always there during the day and is very friendly and likes to joke with the customers, making the restaurant a home-y environment. All in all I def recommend it. And the fact that it’s open pretty late makes it all the more convenient. Just a tip: it’s cash only. They have an atm tho

I love their carne en su jugo and the fact that they put cinnamon in their coffee. I always have at least three cups. Friendly and good service too.

Carne en su jugo is this place’s moneymaker and it’s evident– almost everybody in this joint is chowing down on this stuff. Other good stuff– chorizo tacos(skip al pastor and steak) and horchata. Good service, amazing chili paste for the table, and cheap as can be. Nom.

this place was walking distance from a friend of mine. got hungry and they suggested this place. once i got in there i was greeted. the workers here are friendly. i was curious of a drink after i placed my order and the lady pulled out a cup and let me tried some! now that is cool! anyways… i ordered. –steak taco– has cilantro and onions and the steak was tender for the most part. there was a few chewy pieces –al pastor taco– has cilantro and onions and it was flavorfull. i liked it a lot –breaded steak torta– it was alright. not the best but it was still pretty good. the toppings on it was fresh –jamicia drank– it wasnt overly sweet like a lot of places which is a plus for me!

The only reason I dine here is for their carne en su jugo. It is the best I’ve had so far and it’s your perfect hangover/cruda cure. Make sure you get the full works with the dish as it comes with pieces of steak, beans, onions, cilantro, radishes, and slices of avocado. They also give you corn tortillas that you can have with a spicy chile de arbol sauce that they make«molcajete» style but beware because it is very spicy. FYI cash only no credit cards accepted.

The carne en su jugo is excellent, and so is the menudo. I also really enjoy the tortas(the bread they use is the best!). My only complaint is that the steak meat they use is sometimes tough and grisly.

I love their Carne en sen Yougo.(spelling) Still I have and will go back. It’s far away from my House. Still worth the drive. We has Taco’s and soup. It can’t be good for You ’cause it tastes soooo good. Worth the drive. If You live close Lucky You!

CARNEENSUJUGO, people. That’s the specialty here, and that what everyone should try. Tortas I like, tacos are alright, burritos are okay. But the Carne en su jugo is where it’s at! The menudo on Sundays is bomb as well. In fact, my favorite menudo. Come for the specialty soups here! Get tacos elsewhere, though I actually really like the tripitas if you ask for ‘em crunchy. A decent place for a torta, though.

A dive looking interior – clean, but with a cafeteria level décor – which is sometimes a good sign for taquerias. It didn’t pan out this time. I found the steak burrito meat very tough and overcooked, and even at $ 1.70, I’ve had much better tacos with fresher ingredients. They just threw in some cilantro and red sauce, which I found unflavorful – just some heat, but no pepper flavors. Given the number of options in the area, I don’t think I will come back.

Ordered the steak burrito and it was eh. Steak was overcooked and I think the tomato was too big of a slice. They should dice them. The red sauce was ok… had a bit of kick to it. Horchata was cinamonny(I know it’s not a real word, but you know what I mean!) I think there are way better options close by. Inside was clean and bright.

I’ve been getting carne en su jugo here for 15 years. It’s always been awesome. It’s my favorite cold cure and I swear that I spent an entire winter eating it and lost weight even though it’s pretty filling and kind of oily.(To solve this, stick it in the fridge, remove the oil once it’s done it’s thing — calories avoided.) My favorite thing to do is put everything in the soup — chilis(not all of them because you will die), radishes, onion, cilantro, avocado, and a bit of lime. Stir it up and then scoop out some non-fluid parts, put them in a tortilla, put some of that awesome red sauce on it, and eat it like a taco. Then eat the yummy broth which I’ve tried time and time again to duplicate, but never succeed. I have an idea why, but I’m not going to divulge secrets here. As far as other foodstuffs here go, the carne asada tacos and burritos here are just OK. Not as good as La Pasadita, but better than a lot of places(including a taqueria nearby that has consistently provided me with digestive distress). But go for the carne en su jugo. I’ve tried it other places in the city and so far this place is my fave — so much so that I make trips from Edgewater for it.
