Great local bar. Bartender was awsome… drinks were fast and cold… plus free pool! Great place

Parking… horrbile like others thought I would get mugged. Also while outside smoking by the back door there was a dog above my head. didn’t get pissed on but was waiting for it lol. Bar…Reminded me of a small town bar, which I like being from one. Loved that I could play the music I wanted to and not have to worry about others bitching. Pool table was well… a pool table! Beers seemed to be well priced. I didn’t pay my husband did but he wasn’t bitching. Overall I think if we lived closer we would be there all the time… probably a good thing we don’t.

I absolutely adore this place! The bartenders are fun, personable, and awesome!(especially Sterrin) I heard from a friend for awhile this was the place to go. I’m from a small town and hate big Wrigleyville type clubs. So, on a whim a friend and I stopped in and we had so much fun we ended up staying til close. Sterrin was such a fantastic bartender she even made up a drink for me, then invited me to her wedding reception! What other bar makes you feel so at home and welcome that you are invited to an actual life event? Check out the Liberty Lounge and you’ll see, besides the drinks are so cheap you won’t even have to pre-game before going ;-)

I thought this place was a great little bar. The bartender walked up and introduced herself and chatted us up. I like this place and ill be coming back soon

The Liberty Lounge is a great little dive off of Western Ave in Roscoe Village. It is a great place to grab a beer and a shot after a long day of work and mingle with the locals that flock this bar. The bar is old school with both Star Wars and Star Trek memorabilia hanging from the ceiling. The bartenders know their drinks and serve them with a smile. The jukebox has every song you could dream of hearing and the bathrooms are decently clean too. The prices are great, the beer choices are sparse, but there are great options. Hacker-Pschorr and Delirium Tremens to Miller Lite and Mike’s Hard Lemonade the selection is quite diverse. The shelves are filled with every kind of liquor you can imagine and there are even pork rinds to help with that late night hunger pangs. As you can see The Liberty Lounge is nothing too fancy, it’s just a straight up dive where you can drown your sorrows after a long rough day at work.

This is a hole in the wall bar. It is really small and has limited beer selections where you can find elsewhere. A very tiny bar that is easy to miss over on Western Avenue.

Pretty amazing. I love dives and this hidden gem fit the bill. The staff was super friendly, they’ve got a great jukebox, and the prices are hard to beat. Brooklyn Lager for $ 3? Yes, please! Their pizzas also make for a great late night snack! Love Liberty, we’ll definitely be back for more!

Great beer selection and prices for a hole-in-the-wall type bar. I think most people drive past this place their whole lives and never notice it because it’s hidden by the viaduct. The bartender is awesome and super friendly. They got a pool table and also a back porch. Drinks are poured nice and stiff here and I like my drinks stiff!

This is the home for the best night cap after a night on the town. The Liberty Lounge is one of my favorite dive bars in the city. The main reson I go to this spot is the super nice staff and the friendly neighborhood folks that go there. They also have a great beer selection and they pour there drinks nice and strong. The pool table is a big plus for me. All around super cool bar.

I live right down the street and Liberty Lounge is a perfectly small dive that has become my neighborhood bar, filled with friendly folks and reasonably-priced drinks. On any given night you’ll find a blue collar grandpa next to a disillusioned hipster both sipping whiskey that the bartender probably comped them for. You’ll also find a good pool table, juke box and — oh yeah — loads of Star Wars memorabilia hanging from the ceiling. Pretty darn cool. Not sure what the fears are over a «shady parking lot» business is. You live in Chicago, it’s called Western Avenue. The POLICESTATION and a TOYS R US are across the street. Also, you should venture elsewhere if you don’t like hanging out with regular folks from the neighborhood.

Wow – What a cast of characters in this Joint is about all I have to say! Standard DIVE complete with a plastic plant in the front window as well as Star Wars shit hanging from above the bar. It’s Cheap/Patrons are shady/bartenders are hilarious! Definitely something to witness, that’s for sure! LOUDJUKEBOX! GTFJD

Good neighborhood bar where you have the good usual suspects. Beer, small Craft Beer selection, liquor, pool table, jukebox, snacks, and good bar tenders. Good people watching with locals and people from all sides of the city coming in here for a beer or two any given day or night.

After living in the neighborhood for three years, and walking past this place many times, we finally went inside last night. It’s really cute for a dive bar. All kinds of bizarre collectibles on the shelves, starwars toys hanging by the door, etc. The bartender was super friendly, and when we started singing along to «the devil went down to Georgia» regulars in the bar smiled at us. The drinks were fairly reasonably priced — nothing outrageous for Chicago. We left around 11pm and there were only about 6 other people in there, but it seemed like the late night crowed was just starting to file in. We would definitely go back.

It is not really a dive bar-I do like me some dives-fun experiences can be had at them, with all the varying characters in them. I did expect it from the outside and from the sketchy parking lot, but once inside I realized what it really was: a façade. Oh and by the way you can drink something besides a MGD or PBR and still be cool.

«Are you guys freaking kidding me?» That phrase I said when I realized that my friends actually came here. WHY? Do I really want to hang out with the hil-jack locals? Do I want to chat with the local drunk guy who everyone laughs at when he makes obscene comments instead of throwing him out? HELLNO. No thanks. The parking area looks super shady and is a perfect placed to get mugged. The pool table seriously needs to be leveled. There is no room to even shoot without having your stick bang into the narrow walls. I dont even think that this«bar» is even a full bar. They don’t serve food, the location sucks, the employees are rude. Word to the wise… STAYTHEFAWKOUTTAHERE! ps. I think the reviews prior to mine… are fake… and done by the business to boost thier crappy«bar»

this has become my home away from home. everyone is super friendly and the drinks are cheap! i have won(and lost) many a game on their pool table. the parking is the best. they have an awesome beer selection. 3 kinds of leines, arcadia witsun ale, dogfish head(the 60 and the 90), delirium tremens to name just a few. its def a hillbilly spot by day, watch out for the moonshine and they’ll kick your butt in pool. but at night its just a fun, chill place to go with friends. and just as a p. s. — «tell me when to go» IS on the jukebox and has actually become the last call anthem!

Certainly not a bad place to have a drink by your lonesome. Not that I’d know or anything. Some sort of drink special most nights, Boba Fett’s spaceship at one point hung upside down from the ceiling, and for some mysterious reason it’s easy to play a pretty decent game of pool on their pool table, despite having little to no skill at pool. Magic.

i can see why you might not immediately pull your car into the lot of the liberty as you drive down western… i can see why you might not call all your friends and say«hey check out this hotspot»…i can even see why you might stroll right past on your way to underbar… but if you manage make the turn and walk in on a sunday you’ll find free pool, $ 3 bloody marys and a phenomenal jukebox. while liberty does have that dive-y feel to it, don’t be fooled… you don’t have to order coors light, they’ve got grey goose. and while they do have some snacky foods — nuts and pizza etc, they’ll also be just as happy to let you order in, and can even tell you which places deliver fastest. and the only thing that stops me from adding that fifth star… i’m afraid i’ll lose my parking spot!

I’m probably taking some street-cred from Liberty Lounge just by reviewing it here(or you can probably call it ‘Da El-El — if you don’t already call it that you should start calling it that). I believe this is the essence of the faux-dive establishment. It’s a dingy little joint with a pool table and a bunch ‘a chairs and a bar. It wasn’t very hoppin’ until a few of us came over from another place — we stayed ’til last call and the bar tender was super-nice, chatting everyone up and being really friendly-like. Apparently you can get little pizzas there — I saw someone eating one but unfortunately I can’t taste with my eyes so I don’t know how it tastes. 8 bux for a large: smelled good. Anyway, I really liked this place. I’ll go back next time I am in Roscoe and I feel like ending the night in a chill fashion. Minus one star only because we couldn’t find the fabulous«Tell Me When to Go» by the stellar E-40 on the jukebox. BUT… PROTIP: At first it looks like there are no good songs on the jukebox, but if you touch«Super Song Selection», it takes you to a screen where you can retrieve a song by pretty much any group you want.
