$$$$NOWCLOSED$$$$$$ This place was a lot better when Matt owned/ran it. Reason being I have tried to stop in a few times in the evening recently and it has been closed. The new bartender is pretty cool but I really get annoyed when I walk somewhere for food and a beer and they are closed for no reason. There is a really cool patio in back which is awesome in the summer.

This is the same space as Parlor used to be and it doesn’t look any different as far as I can tell. Then again, I was on the birthday party circuit when I went there last night, and I could very well have been temporarily blinded from all the cheap vodka I had at Rebel bar right before I got there. Here’s the good part: A. The staff graciously permitted a dance off to occur in the middle of the bar. B. I went outside and this Italian fellow told me I looked Italian. I told him I was, in fact, a Jewish American, and even if I wanted to be Italian, I’m too fat. So he proceeded to feel my stomach and told me I was wrong, I was perfect and could easily be Italian at my weight.(You hear that, Krsna? Stop calling me fat, you self-absorbed waste of an embryo.) We said our Ciaos and went our separate ways. Pretty sure I could have hit that. The bad: A. I ordered 3 shots of Jamo, and none of the 3 of us who took them thought they were Jameson. I’m not making any accusations, but these shots did not go down well. B. The dance off I mentioned occurred as a result of an urban tough with sunglasses on issuing me a dance challenge. Imagine that, wearing sunglasses at night!!!

This place was cool — grabbed a glass of wine and an appetizer here. Service was fast, food was good. All in all — pretty good experience. We sat outside — it was a nice evening — Patio is a little cramped but, hey, everyone wants to sit outside when it’s nice — I can relate!

Love the space — very clean and modern with exposed brick, cool lighting and a very inviting looking patio(which we were unable to utilize since it was raining that day). Appetizers were on special that night so Andy M got the cheese curds(I didnt like them but after all I am spoiled from the Wisconsin State Fair) and I got the grilled chicken tenders. Those turned out to be a seasoned chicken breast cut up and served with a sauce. Pretty good I thought. I then had a salad which was a rather large portion, served with your choice of dressing. Service was quite prompt and efficient, but there were only two other people in the place besides us so I definitely would have expected nothing less. This is upscale bar food in an upscale looking place. I enjoyed it and would come back if I was in the area.

The Ledge offers some of the better Bar food that I have had in Chicago. They had a Miller light and½ off appetizer special the night we went. We had the Grilled Chicken Tenders and Cheese Curds as appetizers. Both were quite tasty. The Burger that I had for my entrée was pretty darn good as well. The interior is a beautiful modern, Brick design. The Bar had a very cozy feel to it. Our server was quite nice and prompt. I’m not sure that this is a place that I would go out of my way to visit again, but I did enjoy my night at the Ledge.

This was our first time at The Ledge. We read Metromix and silly me thought having 25 star ratings was good enough to check this place out. To be fair I will say this place is just that — fair. The interior décor is tired, the outdoor patio that folks have enjoyed, is nothing more than a dirty wood fenced-in patio on an alley, no greenery, plants or container gardens to spiff up the place. The food was average. I was with a couple of vegetarians and they were out of the Falafel dinner plate, and they were out of one of the few beers they had on the menu. The garden burger, was good. The burgers they are so famous for are average. I would not go back.

I’m going to preface this by saying that I am a newly licensed attorney and I still get flustered when I have to file things in Chancery at the Circuit Court. That being said, getting your check at the Lodge appears to be the most complicated, red taped, triplicate, convoluted, complex system since the common law writ system. O.K. let’s back up and start at the beginning-the Battle of Hastings in 1066… ok So the Ledge is really new right? OK, so I know things won’t run that smoothly so we get it but things can’t go this badly either. The food took about 40 min. The kitchen staff appears to be only two people and they had to keep running downstairs to get the food(frozen fries etc) our waitress totally f*** up our order but we were too damn hungry to even bother. Boiling points reached a rapid boil when it came time for the check. Its a small space so I could see our waitress for fifteen min. after we asked for it sift through piles of tiny pieces of paper… and sift through these tiny pieces of paper over and over again. And after twenty min, she still hadn’t located the holy grail located on the tiny pieces of paper. My husband thinks all the paper is b/c the place has a two tab system so the server has to match the bar tabs w/the food tabs… every time. So I don’t fault our server 100%-its the system. Also, I think the other staff clearly witnessed our waitress overwhelmed and it would have been nice to see the other staff throw her a bone and help her out. Seriously, placing an order and ringing up the tab should not ever reflect filing a lawsuit… ever.

Went here on Mother’s Day… a cool, sleek yet inviting new bar and grill. Had the buffalo chicken sandwich and a pretty good salad. They have a fairly small selections of beverages, but some good beer choices on the menu. I had a Duvel in the bottle and my mom had a bloody mary that had just enough kick. Their burger is their specialty, although none of us had it that day. I hear they bring in the meat from a Greek butcher somewhere on the southside. So, I’d like to hear someone else’s experience with the burger for sure! Great patio for a nice summer day or night and lots of hd flatscreens around the joint for excellent sports viewing. Staff was nice and very down-to-earth. Place has lots of potential, that’s for sure.

Lets see, first to review, it’s new and it was a busy night so I will be nice. Great space, Exposed Brick, great looking bar, open Kitchen so you can watch them make your food, 4 Screens to watch the games, and a Patio out back. The FOH staff was ultra helpful with seating and managed to get us a table quickly. Our waitress came right over to take our drink orders and get us Menu’s. Starting off on a good note. Unfortunately the poor girl seemed to be the only waitress on a busy evening tending the inside and out so service was a little slow. We had the Wings to start and was a little underwhelmed. Hot wings are supposed to be hot with flavour not just hot. Burgers on the other hand were pretty tasty. Tasty enough that I will be back.
