Lalich is a great Serbian deli in Albany Park. The best items to try are the fresh homemade cevapi and the two foot long sausages(hot and mild). Suvi Vrat is very good here as well. Other items such as fresh lepinje bread, imported coffee, pickles, ajvar, sweets, baking ingredients, etc. The owner is a very friendly lady and will offer samples if you ask. One of the special little gems in the neighborhood for sure.

I have to give this place props for not shoving my husband out the door when he came in here last weekend. We saw this shop when driving to lunch and the sign in the window said«bakery» so, of course, he wants to stop because he is thinking sweets and donuts. I waited in the car. He apparently went in and no one spoke much english and he asked if they had polish sausage! WTF? Where he came up with this, I have no idea, but the woman told him«we are Serbian» and he got a loaf of bread for $ 3. We joked that serbs probably pay 25 cents for the same loaf and his blunder got him charged more. Next time I will do the research and come prepared– and make him wait in the car!

After DSD(another Serbian deli on Lawrence) closed down, I came here to get some dried kobasice for me and the family. This is now our go to deli. Haven’t been here in a while and I can’t now because I’m fasting for Easter, but I definitely plan on buying some suvi vrat after I’m done. Meat-eaters rejoice, this will be your favorite place to go to, so do it. Buy some dried meats and eat the Serbian way.

Stopped in to see Vera(owner) and order a 50 pc Cevapi(uncooked) and some dried sausage for apps. My grama ordered freshly ground Serbian coffee. We chatted with Vera while we waited — this place is an old school gem. They will cook up a roasted piggy or lamb for you pre-ordered. A must try for any meat lover.

If you need authentic Serbian food in the area this is the place to go. The sausages and other meats are consistently the best cuts and quality you can hope for, the service is personable and great, and the place is clean and well organized. Patronize them and their other location in Niles off of Milwaukee when you can.

This quaint clean and tidy Serbian Deli has the best cevapcici in town! Cevapcici are wonderful Serbian sausages that are grilled to perfection, they’re great! …Also Roast pigs! Wonderful loaves of Serbian bread and lots of interesting goodies! Wonderful find and friendly service… Check it out!
