Perhaps I am just excited to find they still exist in the Loop. They are at Wabash and Madison inside this odd food court along with a Gyro place and a Popeyes if that helps locate. on the southeast corner. The food still tastes the same. I found that if you order a regular burrito, its a better value than a value meal if you dont need the drink. So for 7 bucks i get a massive burrito. Great for vegetarians and those looking for a very small bite like $ 2 tacos and chips and guac for $ 2. 5 bucks and you’re satisfied.

Love this place! Good quality ingredients, authentically prepared, pretty darn cheap for a downtown joint! Breakfast tacos really hit the spot! Small menu, but everything they have is pretty tasty. Nice people too. Hit this place up in your in the area.

This place has the most amazing breakfast tacos at a price you CANNOT beat anywhere in the downtown area. Before discovering their breakfast tacos, I had been going to DD for morning wraps. They are incomparable. These tacos are HUGE! Whatever meat and egg you choose, they also add potato and cheese. After my first time going in and ordering and having to wait, because they were so busy, I started calling my order in. I’ve never had a problem with their food, or service, I definitely recommend you try their breakfast tacos if you are in the area. I can’t really rate them on their lunch/dinner food, but I know they run a $ 1.25 beef taco special on Tues and Thurs and the lines is always really long… again, CALLAHEAD! :-)

Same food that I remembered from U of I and other locations! Same salsa and same guys cooking the burrito. Do your part to eat here so this location stays open.

I am so disappointed. I was craving that scrumptious salsa I remember so fondly from my college days at SIU. I had visited the other La Bambas location in the Loop before it closed and was thrilled to see it reincarnated! Not so much. Without thinking that the recipes could have changed, I ordered a cup of salsa to go. It was $ 5.00 for the smallest size. This concoction of chile de arbol(and who knows what else) was NOT the vibrant cilantro laced sauce that I had been dreaming about. Maybe I was supposed to ask for the«green» salsa, but I don’t recall their being different hot sauces. By the time I realized that this is not what I had wanted, I was back at my office and did not have time to return. The space this restaurant is located in is under renovation, presumably. It was so hot in there. Plus, the taco and tamale were unremarkable at best. I’m pissed.

So when this place opened again a few months back I heard the cashier say that if you spent 5 dollars or more you would get a free small drink. well so today is maybe my 20th time eating here. And all of the sudden the lady at the cashier charges me 2 dollars for it. After she had charge me for my tacos !!! Mmmmmmm maybe she was a bad mood … But because of that I’m not coming back here ever again ! I don’t mind paying for it. But be clear and equal to all your customers up front ! Ps. Food is not that great.
