Authentic Korean Ox bone soup restaurant. I love Korean Seolleongtang ox bone soup. This place mainly makes the soup. People come here for the ox bone soup. I’m glad that I found this restaurant. I don’t think the store is not interested to attract American customer. The menu is in Korean. I can’t read Korean but my boy friend can read it and translated it for me. We will go back there again.

Boyfriend and I decided to be adventurous and try this restaurant! Admittedly it was a little awkward to go in and find that we were the only customers on a Saturday night, but I would not let that deter you from going in. We were not handed menus, and instead, my boyfriend ordered from the Korean menu on the wall. I did sneak a peek at the counter and see menus available, so I’m not quite sure if they just limited their options and were not making other menu items(which were more variable AND in English) or if they thought we were just interested in what was available on the wall. I would say that this should not deter you, however. The person serving us was very friendly and I’m certain she would be very happy to help explain what is on the menu.(I also have a feeling she just forgot to give us the menu) Either way, I will say that the food is great. You can tell they know what they’re doing. Traditional side dishes were very well prepared and the kimchi was yummy! :) We had a calamari, stir-fried squid dish(ojingeo-bokkeum), and for someone who honestly dislikes calamari unless it’s fried, the dish and flavor was surprisingly delicious! Now, the main reason I am writing this review, however, is to say that this place serves ox tail beef soup(sul lung tang/seolleongtang). After Han Bat closed, I needed to find a new go to, and I HAVEFOUNDIT. It isn’t as flavorful as my memory remembers the sul lung tang from Han Bat being, but it definitely comes close, and provided the difficulty in preparing this dish, I am happy to say that I will be coming back, if not to see if other menu items are available, then at least for my sul lung tang cravings!!!

There’s no shortage of good, small, authentic Korean restaurants around here, but this one’s my favorite. Parking is easy out in front on the street, and the big windows facing Bryn Mawr make the place friendly and sunny during the day. No one in here speaks much English, but you’re not in there for the conversation. The interior is sparkling clean, casual, but tasteful, and you can watch Korean soap operas on television while you wait. By the way, Korean soap operas seem pretty similar to American or Spanish language soap operas, and I don’t understand why otherwise diverse cultures all like the same strange soap opera plots and characters, but that’s a tangent I’ll have to explore elsewhere. This place has a yummy Korean style omelet(rice on the inside), delicious noodle soups, and the best bibimbop. It’s cheap, well worth it, I’ve eaten everything on the menu and liked it, including two items not on the(poorly translated) English menu but listed up on the wall in Korean(once because a Korean friend ordered it, another time because I just had to know and the server was unable to explain in English). You’re not going to be disappointed, unless that is, if you’re the sort of person who is always disappointed. In that case, this will just be another disappointment.
