King’s Chop Suey

Food is normal Chop Suey grease spoon but I like it…
Place is ugly and the wait is horrendous.
Close to were I commute to and from and a good fill of grease when I’m in the mood.
Don’t recommend unless your starving

I haven’tbeen to this place in a while because its hit or miss with some menu items. However the salt and. pepper shrimp is pretty dam good.

I would give a zero if I could. Food was beyond horrible. I ate a few bites and threw the rest away. Chicken had the poultry smell. Felt like I was going to throw up. Please please please do yourself a favor and skip this joint. Prices are good & portions are good, but you will not be able to eat the food. Panda Express is 100 times better than this place.

I am a Chinese food enthusiast. I love to visit new Chinese food spot around Chicago. Just when I thought I find my favorite, I come across a hidden gem in my back yard. Their orange chicken is the best I’ve tasted. Rice not the best but the orange chicken definitely makes up for that.

Best Chinese Food on the Planet! I love to come here for a treat and it’s great to feed all my family on a budget!

I’ve ordered from this place about a dozen times in the last year. The food itself is your standard Chinese-​American fast food. I usually get a combo plate which includes shrimp friend rice, a main entrée and a egg roll.
PROS: Inexpensive, fast pick up times and large portions.
CONS: One particular day I had to wait 2 hours for my food to be delivered and they didn’t even offer me a discount or a waiver. Some options are worse than others. For example, last time I ordered the beef with broccoli combo and it was terrible. The beef tasted like it was microwaved and I was honestly disappointed. I would suggest to stay with the orange/tsuo’s chicken options.
Overall it’s mediocre and it will continue to be unless it gets competition. There is the buffet on 71^st Pulaski and New China Tea on 55^th, but they are too far.

Warning this place is not safe to eat at, worst quality food ever. My orange chicken was brown on the inside. it tasted more like pork, i took only 1 bite and was disgusted. so then i had to settle for the shrimp fried rice which had absolutely no flavor. i had a gut feeling to just run away once i walked through the door but wanted to give them a chance, i wish i hadn’t wasted my money here. trust me once you walk through the door you’ll have the same feeling that this place is a dump just from appearances. anyone giving this place a good review either works there or are being paid to say so. worst Chinese food i ever ate, i would not recommend even to my enemies. after eating here i had immediate diarrhea.

finally discovered a good place… For years our place was 1^st Chop Suey… but after many times stop ordering from there…
We were told about this place from a friend who orders from them. Ordered from them several times and normally the entrees are good.
Fried rice is fried, egg rolls good as well. Seasame chicken is a but bland…
They also DELIVER!!!

My transplanted barber’s shop is across the street from Kings and he said the food was good and cheap. It certainly was and is. They have an amazing 12 item Super Value Lunch for only $ 4.50 (³⁄₁₂) and includes a fried rice side, it was enough for 2 people! This is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., egg rolls were not included but were good.
They will charge a little extra for adding spice and I had to do this with the beef/​green pepper chop suey which I found a little bland. They were fairly quick preparing my order and I had a short wait for my take out meal and also ordered ahead of which they were on time. The vegetables are almost always crisp and fresh, not wilty or old. Convient off street parking in front of their shop.

My coworker orders this once a week. Most of the food isn’t really good at all. There’s only one safe item I have. No. 12 Hunan Chicken. Otherwise, I’ve ordered some of the Sesame Chicken and it was undercooked. Other coworkers have had the same problem. But we have the one who always orders from there who loves it.
But IMO, go to another Chinese food restaurant. They under cook the food and that’s why some of it isn’t very good. The Hunan Chicken is the safe one because it’s not breaded and you can tell if it’s cooked or not. Lots of sauce and it’ll cook it afterwards.

GOOD FOOD!
This place is a good hole in the wall. The décor is blah, and the prices are a bit high, but the food is good. A great place to call ahead or have deliver. The price is high but you do get A LOT of food. I had it for dinner, and lunch the next day. Gotta love leftovers.
I know a lot of people that eat here, and no complaints from them either. No hurt stomach after Chinese food is a plus. you know what i mean.
