So delicious! My absolute favorite is the papaya salad-crunchy, tangy, and spicy. We order it every time. Never disappoints. Tonight we also ordered the curry noodle soup which tasted a bit like khao soi and was just so tasty. Oh and for dessert we got the fried banana and it was heavenly. I can’t wait to try everything on the menu.

Great place, excellent food. I went there with a couple of Thai friends and they had a very positive opinion of the taste. The owner(and cooker) is from Thailand as well so you can trust the place. The location if very nice with a very kind of romantic outdoor tables. Try the pad ka-prao.

I’m really on the hunt for good Thai food in Chicago — curry that tastes better than diluted paste. The portions here were really large! My fiancé got the seafood soup and could barely eat half and I got the green curry and same story. I had requested mine mild but it was still very spicy. We could see they were preparing everything fresh to order — that was the highlight! I’d want to try a curry without killing my taste buds before I can comment on the flavors. It was good enough for me to want to return!

Fresher food than Thai bowl, but our food was 20 minutes late, the phone was busy when I tried to called, and the food we asked for not spicy is hot and the spicy food is bland. The pad see eiw was not cooked together or something — crunchy non sauced broccoli, bland tofu but sauce on the noodles. Guess we’ll go back to Ma and I or Opart Thai. Disappointed since we are 4 blocks away.

Excellent food and service. Can’t go wrong with anything you order– best Thai on Taylor street– by far!

I am sad to give them 2 stars because the customer service is very good but we were very disappointed with the pat see ew. The place was very clean and the servers were super friendly. I was hoping to make this my go to place for Thai food but I don’t think I can come back after this. In short: great customer service but bad food quality :(

Great food! We’ve eaten in a lot of Thai places, and trust us this is one of the best. The food was spicy and authentically tasty. The ambiance and staff was also very nice as well. The catfish and Tom kha Kai were delicious! Would have given 5 stars, however the wait is slightly long. If you have some time, and want a great meal this better than the other Thai places in Taylor street

Great, clean décor… And none of the heavy food smell that lingers on your clothes after you leave. Service was prompt and courteous and answered all of our questions. Loved that the music was set at a decent volume that you can talk over.

Update: customer service is great. I called to let them know specifically about the basil fried rice not having any basil, and they sent their delivery person back to refund the cost of that dish. I still can’t recommend their food at all, but service definitely deserves credit here.

There are a few Thai places on Taylor street and khaosanandtaylor is the best of all! There’s no comparison. Prices are very reasonable and the food is great! Service is great too and it’s BYOB! Don’t bother with the others, trust me, go here! I ordered pad se ew, pad Thai, red curry with pork, green curry with chicken, another beef dish and some egg rolls! Everything was pretty good. Pad Thai is the best I’ve had in a long while. Husband loved the curry in green sauce. Bought the red bc of the reviews but I think I’d agree with my husband that the green was a bit tastier. Think it just depends how spicy you like it. Red is definitely more spicy. Looking forward to going back!

I have done a huge injustice telling many people that the best Thai restaurant on Taylor(in Little Italy) is Golden Thai. This place opened a couple months ago and I had never heard of it. I went and it was the best Thai Food I’ve had in years — and by far the best in Chicago. The red curry was incredible. The plating, presentation, ambience and atmosphere was lovely. Do try this place out!

Décor is way better than Thai Bowl. Upon arrival, I noticed a 15% off student discount and I was glad that I had my UICID on me and was able to receive that deal on my carry out, which is another plus compared to Thai Bowl because it was dine in only and I think they took that option away too. Had the Thai iced tea and it was AMAZING. Some might think it’s a little bit on the sweet side but I would prefer it that way. Also had the pad kee mao with beef and medium and spicy my too bad. I just wished the veggies were softer. Can’t wait to try other things on the menu.

Was craving stir fried vegetables and this place fit the bill at the moment. I got the pad cashew and I’m very pleased. The menu wasn’t clear if I can get meat with this but the waiter did ask if I wanted a meat but I asked for more vegetables. I love Thai food. Service was pretty good.

Big important tip: if you are sensitive to spicy, tell them and they will be honest about what kind of punch it packs. Everything we got was delicious. Highly recommend the moo ping, pad see ew was amazing, my green curry was too spicy for my taste but they happily traded it for something based on my tastes(Tom khai khai) and it was delicious. Top notch service and great food, I will be back.

Whatever you’re doing right now, stop it and go get Thai food instead. This is easily the best Thai food place I’ve been to in the city or suburbs. And it’s BYOB. Tom Kha(sp?) soup: chicken, spicy, creamy, amazing. Normally I don’t eat any of the soup when my wife orders it. I almost finished her bowl for her. Very filling too. Spicy Papaya Salad: other than the fact that it came with those creepy little itty bitty shrimp this was fantastic. Perfect blend of spicy and sweet and refreshing on a summer day. Pad See Ew: I ate until it hurt. And I will do so again in the future. Drunken Noodle: nice savory flavor. Good veggies. Chicken cooked to perfection. Summary: I just finished my meal and I want more. A+

– Delivery 1 hour and 5 minutes late. – when delivery person arrived and I said he was an hour and 5 minutes late, he replied«oh» and then laughed.(The correct response was«I’m so sorry.») – call to restaurant for update on delivery unanswered – beef dish inedible. Thrown out. Pure fat. 1 star because zero stars not an option.

Taste: 3.5 Location: 4 Cleanliness: 4 Ambience: 3 Value: 3.5 Service: 3.5 OVERALL = 3.58 * Out of a 5-point scale My friends and I decided to check this place out and to give it a try after seeing the 5-star rating from just about 16 reviews. This place used to be Thai Wok, which honestly I liked. Too bad they had to close the business down. I think Khaosan & Taylor took over this place pretty recently. Honestly I wasn’t really hungry so I only ordered 1 dish — the Thai Fried Rice with Beef. I liked how it had Kai-Lan(Chinese Kale/Broccoli) in the fried rice. It was decent, although it wasn’t exceptional either. My friend ordered the Khao-Moo-Dang(Thai-style BBQ Pork) and told me that the BBQ Pork was pretty good. Although he was a bit disappointed because the menu clearly says that it comes with Hainanese Rice but instead he only got regular white rice. And the rice was kinda cold as well. Another friend ordered the Penang Curry and he seemed to enjoy it. This is not a comprehensive review in any way and I will update it again once I give this place another shot and try their other more authentic/unique dishes. The place has a cute patio with hanging light bulbs and pretty flowers by the windows. I’ve tried so many Thai Restaurants in Chicago and so I know which ones are good and which ones are okay. I will give this restaurant a 2nd shot and hopefully they can impress me this time. But so far, based on this first visit, there’s still a lot of work to be done if they really want to compete with the plethora of Thai Restaurants in Chicago.

Service: Excellent — fast and attentive. Good dishes: Som Tum was delicious. I also liked the steamed fish in coconut. Ok dishes: Pad Thai was meh. Laab could have used more acidity, spice and tasted rice. Tips: Portions are generous and the restaurant is BYOB. Prices: Extremely cheap!

I really enjoyed my meal. The restaurant is relatively new. Service was excellent. I ordered the papaya salad. The flavor is legit and the portion is ginormous. The papaya salad was tossed with green beans. It was topped with a generous scattering of peanuts and two huge, plump shrimp. I’m not Thai and I’m no Thai food connoisseur but I think it may have been Isaan-style. The dish tasted savory, pungent, and kickass. It’s the kind of dish that grows on you while you’re eating it. The server told me they may start assembling the papaya salad tableside. I also ordered a green curry with extra vegetables. It was delicious and hit the spot. I wish I lived in Chicago so that I could visit again!
