A good night with friends often ends here. You should start at Yeowoosai and drink as much soju as possible. Once you’ve built up enough liquid courage from all the soju, head over to this place right next door and be prepared to sing your heart out until the wee hours of the morning. We usually go around 1 or 2 in the morning and have never had issues getting a room without a reservation(but you can call ahead.) The rooms here are okay. Decent sized, clean enough, but definitely have seen better days. Same with the karaōke system and song catalogs; a lot of the songs listed in the catalog are from 2005-ish or earlier. The system itself might be updated(because I think I’ve stumbled upon songs accidentally that weren’t in the catalog) but the catalogs definitely aren’t. Still a good variety of songs regardless, so you definitely can find something to sing along to! They also have a full bar and the prices are okay if you do decide you need more to drink. Whether you know it as Sing Sing, Karaōke Restaurant, or whatever else it goes by, if you like late-night karaōke at reasonable prices, this is definitely someplace you should check out! Also, not sure if it’s just me but I NEVER have any cell phone service(I use Verizon) while I’m at this place. It’s weird because when I’m at Yeowoosai, literally a couple of feet away, it’s fine. Super minor thing but just something to be aware of. I’ve killed my phone’s battery many times because of this without even noticing until it’s too late.

This place is great. It’s nice, has lots of rooms, and has tons of music selections. You have to know how to use the remote because that’s where most of your music will come from – the books do not contain the karaōke’s entire selection of songs. There’s tons of sitting room and the karaōke offers food and drinks. It’s nice and clean, adorned with tambourines so your friends can cheer you on as you sing. I loved the atmosphere and how it is next to Yeowoosai, so after a good dinner you can continue your festivities by belting a few tunes with your party. We had a blast here and highly reccommend Karaōke Restaurant!

I wanted to organize a karaōke night at Lincoln Karaōke but there were no rooms available. so I searched the web for an alternative and found this place. It’s basically a few notches down from LK in every aspect: dodgier, smellier, they don’t serve pitchers, the food doesn’t smell too good. however I assume you’re going for private-room karaōke, and in that respect the experience is pretty much the same as LK — that is to say, a lot of FUN!!! Yes, the remote is in Korean, but they explain you what to do; yes, some newer songs are not available — but it’s not as bad as I thought from reading previous review. We sang our hearts out for like 4 hours and had a blast! one thing that LK doesn’t have is that you get a «score» after each song based on your rhythm and pitch(I think?). it was fun, although it did seem pretty random: D Otherwise the karaōke system works the same(including some hilarious random background images). I think price-wise is pretty similar to LK(I hoped it would be a bit cheaper.). Overall a good alternative to LK, if you don’t mind the shady look.

This place is a real dive. It almost has the feel of a brothel. But, it is a lot of fun. The keyboard to select songs in our private room was in all Korean, but we were able to figure it out. The bartender wasn’t very skilled, so we had beer. And thankfully we ate first because the menu wasn’t very appealing. However, despite all of that, we had a lot of fun.

Good place to get your karaōke fix, especially because they’re open super late on weekends. HOWEVER, prices are not optimal and the songs haven’t been updated in a long time and overall quality could be better. I came here with 2 friends(so 3 people total) and we sang for 1 hour 20 mins and each got a bottle of water(for 2 bucks each so don’t get water here) and each wound up paying about 15 bucks each, which I thought was a bit on the higher side. The room was okay but the system was a bit hard to use and the songs were at least a year to a year and a half old — they definitely need to be updated. Overall it’s a fun place to go with friends though and I liked that they had a bar for people who didn’t want to be constantly singing the whole time.

Recently, for my birthday, we came to Karaōke Restaurant. This was my second time, the first being about a year ago. Overall, a good experience. The only kicker: the song selection is a bit limited. I suspect they bought a bunch of stuff when they opened, so you will see a lot of what was popular maybe in the early ’00’s, but they are missing some«karaōke classics». –It made the night a bit awkward, as people would request, «Tina Turner!» Not one song of hers. «Cher!» Only«Believe.» Ironically, they had a bunch of Madonna songs(including some obscure ones), but not«Holiday», one of her biggest hits. They also had a bunch of T-Pain, which I thought was funny for a karaōke(singing) place. The self controlled remote in the room is in a different language so you have to remember what buttons to push to select your song. This was a bit stressful, as it took a bit to figure out and then try to accommodate people’s requests, only to tell them, «They don’t have that song.» Also, no Jimmy Buffet(COMEON???) So, overall, a pleasant experience if you are open to whatever selection they have. It is nice to have your own room with your friends and it ends up being pretty cheap($ 5 per person /per hour). However, if you are a karaōke aficionado(like I am) and you have specific songs you like to sing, you might want to opt for a location with a more extensive selection.

Generic«Karaōke Restaurant» BKA Gooti to us old school attenders. I’m reminded of going to Yewosaii in highschool & college then heading next door to Gooti after peeking into who was hanging at the PC Bang. Back in the day, every single room was full, you’d see your friends in every room, you could record your singing with a cassette tape then play it in the car when you left. AHHHH, am I showing my age?! :) Gooti has gotten a makeover and you won’t see any remnants of what it once was except the bathrooms still like they did 15 years ago! That being said, the makeover was a good one. Everything is all fancy now and they even have a bar you can belly up to which is fancy indeed! A fridge is full of beer for the ordering when you’re in your nohraebang. That being said, those days of this being the hot spot seem to be long over. Not sure what’s up with that! I know, I know, there are some ‘better’ karaōke spots but you can come here on a weekend night and get a room right away with no wait. That has to be worth something! I do think they need some updating of their songs. It’s as if no new songs have been added in 3 years. I’m talking both American and Korean songs… the music catalog just generally needs some updating, please. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy singing my 90s Kpop 1Tym and SES, along with the few Eminem hits they have in the books… but really they need a more broad selection. I’m not going to name names but they have a run for their money in that department against other nohraebangs! So my pale faced friends, just for clarification Nohrae = Singing and Bang = Room… so this is a Korean style Karaōke place. You won’t be getting up sloppy drunk and embarrassing yourself in front of a room full of strangers belting out Eric Carmen’s power ballad All By Myself(What Celine Dion didn’t originate that song??? No, teenie boppers. Facepalm). But you will get to sing & dance party sloppy drunk in front of your select group of friends privately. You press a doorbell looking button and it will call the attendant into your room so you can order beverages & food. If you want a true Hanguk Nohraebang experience, get yourself a bottle of soju and chug away. Rock on, kiddos.

Been coming here for years. For the most part, it’s retained its charm and appeal. Can’t believe we used to sing our lungs out until the break of dawn after gorging ourselves on popcorn chicken from Yeowoosai next door. The parking lot’s still kind of a nightmare, but I learned to just park on California to avoid the hassle of getting my car out for some idiot who doesn’t know how to park or getting a ding in my door. If you’ve had dinner at Kogi, drinks at Yeowoosai, and STILL aren’t ready to call it a night, then this is just the place.

We came here at 12:30 am on a Saturday night(technically, Sunday morning) because it was the only karaōke bar that had an open room that wasn’t reserved. This place delivers a great Asian karaōke experience(private rooms with own song book). Overall, the quality of the room, service and food was pretty good. For $ 25/room for 5 people, this place is pretty good value. The karaōke system could be a little bit easier to use. The location is not very convenient if you don’t have a car though. However, if you do have a car, they have a parking lot which makes it nice! The songbooks are outdated in that there are newer songs that you can access via the hard-to-use remote control that aren’t listed in the books. The books have songs that were released up to 2000 and a few songs released after that. We also ordered seafood pancake which was delicious at 1am. I am still craving it as I’m writing this review. Overall, I would definitely come back here again!

We came here for my cousins birthday get together. We had about 50 people that came out. So we needed a place for our loud and crazy familia to have them sing and laughing out loud without getting kicked out lol! The place is located in a stripmall. The parking lot is small but they do have street parking. It’s a Korean bar with multiple private rooms for karaōke. The rooms look like your hanging out in your grandmothers basement with out dated furniture and tacky wallpaper. They only have two wireless microphones per room. They have a wide selections of music with videos that just doesn’t make sense funny and weird but you just keep singing. The rooms has strobe lighting and you might find a tambourine to play with. They are open until 2am. At the main bar it’s lit with a blue color light, pretty cool. The drinks can get a bit expensive when you’re singing. Its NOT a BYOB place, however you can order food in the Korean restaurant next door. If you bring your own drinks you will end up paying their full bar price so beware! We haven’t tried their food yet so next time. Overall, it was an ok experience for our first time going to an actual karaōke bar instead of my auntie’s house lol!

Get your American Idol on at this joint. From the song selection to the variety of room sizes, this place is spot on. I always call in ahead of time and ask if they can accommodate my group of 3, 5, etc. and they never disappoint. You are placed in a room fit for the size of your group. A room for 3 – 5 people runs for about $ 30 give or take. The song selection is wonderful. They have a list of «hits» that is always our go-to and updated often. The rest of the(English) songs are organized by Artist and also by song so you can search for that specific song to make you shine. Best part about this place? They are open super late and are a great place to head to if you don’t know what to do with your group of friends at 3am in the morning.

Solid joint. Open late. Good song selection with a list of «newer songs» in a separate section which is a convenient little touch. We had some issues with our microphone, but when we asked for assistance it was resolved quickly. Including the strangely amusing ethnic videos that play in the background while you sing and having exactly zero relevance to the song being played, this place is a legit late night karaōke spot. Will probably be back for future, late-night belting sessions with the cousins. The name could be slightly more original as to avoid generic confusion, but I’m not taking any points off for lack of creativity. The host was also friendly which can sometimes be a rarity at this type of establishment.

I’ve only been here once and it was YEARS ago, but I still always remember this place. ITIS A BLAST! great place to get a private room with a bunch of friends and get silly drunk! at least that’s how we did it :) we weren’t planning on being there for more than a couple of hours, but before we knew it was 5AM and we literally had to FORCE ourselves to leave only because we were running out of money! I“ve been really meaning to come back here for years, and just unfortunately haven’t :(don’t be lazy like me, and go check this place out!

This isn’t a first date destination or a venue in which to impress your girlfriend with your sweet vocal stylings. No, this is the place to come with a group of friends to let your music geek flag fly and sing some cheesy songs at the top of your lungs! Pretty large songbook, nice private rooms, VERY loud sound systems, and a delicious array of beer and cocktails. Plus, at about $ 5/person for an hour in a private room, it’s a fairly cheap way to spend a fun night. This was my first karaōke experience since moving to Chicago but I’d say it satisfied my singing needs just fine.

A place so nice it’s named thrice! Whether you know this joint as Sing Sing Karaōke, Karaōke Restaurant or Kutti Karaōke, it’s all the same and it’s all to glorify your singing fame. The private room is the star here and takes away all the apprehension and awkwardness about performing in front of a crowd. Gotta say, this was the key to awakening the light in my karaōke fire. I’ve never been one to grab the mic and attempt a warbling of Mariah Carey’s ‘Hero’ to the masses, but when armed with nothing but four walls, clutch mood lighting, a comfy banquette, a few of my nearest and dearest and a slowly moving disco ball… well, my inner Bonnie Tyler came alive. As did my inner Whitney Houston, my inner Bön Jovi, my inner Kanye West, my inner Dolly Parton and, my inner John Denver. Ok, that last one stung us all a bit. Point being: I. HAD. A. SINGY. BLAST. Not sure what all the Unilocal-hooplah is about regarding their pricing, our room accommodating 10 singing for a little over 3 hours garnered us each a $ 20 bill. No joke. Add in the booze — which you purchase via a cooler full of beer products — and you actually have a legitimately inexpensive evening full of hours of pitchy pleasure. Rooms are available on a walk-in basis, but reservations are recommended.

I have been coming here since high school(which is gettin’ close to 15 years for whomever’s counting at home) — and STILL love the sh*t out of this place. Super reasonable pricing, HILARIOUS background videos while you sing, and you get a private room with your friends. Which those of you non-exhibitionist types, could be more comfortable. Also they serve booze! If you’re a water-a-holic like me(don’t worry, I drink too) — I recommend bringing a Sigg water bottle, because they only have water for sale, no tap water provided. That is my ONLY complaint.(Oh, well — also you get bad cell service in there and the parking lot gets crazy… but those things are super minor, in my book). Super nice, friendly — they just let a group of us split a bunch of credit cards to pay last night and were super cool about it. Thank you!

I have been coming here for years and decided it is about time I review this crazy place. Some people like going to crowded bars on karaōke nights and fighting to try and get one or two songs to sing with their friends the whole night. I, on the other hand, prefer the private rooms of Karaōke Restaurant, meaning I can sing as many songs as I want all night long… and nobody will mind my voice since I have surrounded myself with my closest friends! Easy access karaōke… I get a large group of friends together walk in to our private karaōke room, start selecting songs from their very large books, and let the fun happen. They serve alcohol here too, what’s not to like?! You will have to thumb through several binders to look at the selection of songs, and not mind the language you may not be able to read, but you will find what you are looking for, in my experience. They have a pretty good assortment of songs of all different genres here. It is a tish bizarre in the sense that the rooms are kind of crazy looking with the lights on, but I guess I never really noticed except when looking back on the pics. That is no matter anyways, if you come here with a nice group of friends I don’t know how you could not enjoy yourself!

Not as awesome as Lincoln Karaōke. If I hadn’t been there first, I might love this place. Karaōke Restaurant lacks some of the fun, welcoming atmosphere I feel each time at Lincoln Karaōke. I think it’s more than the absence of the easily accessible bars — see reviews about splitting the tab issues — and maybe has more to do with the fact that there were no light up tambourines. I also didn’t love the windows into some of the rooms. I can’t pinpoint the difference, but I would go here again if Lincoln Karaōke was booked solid. Also, the food was very good.

A couple years ago, I had a birthday celebration here with about eight friends. We dined on Korean barbecue next door and went to Karaōke afterwards, around 8PM. We rented a private room for two hours, none of us having done private Karaōke before, and with a little help from the staff(and the libations we ordered,) proceeded to have a big old time. As my cousin Kay would say: «It was just a HOOT!» So two hours wasn’t enough as it turned out, when we discovered our endless knack for entertaining ourselves, singing and dancing like we were auditioning for American Idol, and comparing our scores. Yes, the recording system also rates your individual performance. We exited around 11PM and by that time there was quite a line of would-be Tom Joneses and Patsy Clines. So best to go early or maybe make a reservation ahead if you want to go late. So much fun I almost peed my pants.

At last! The asian karaōke experience is HERE for Chicago and it is aptly named– Karaōke Restaurant! No tom foolery here! Situated in Korea Town, which for y’all who don’t know– is really NOT that far from downtown or the northern neighborhoods(10 – 15 minutes from Logan Square via cab/car, right next to Little India) this is the real deal… private rooms with large booths & your own massive books of English, Korean, and Asian songs to sing to your hearts content! This could be one of the most fun group outings available in Chicago! But before you book that room– ANIMPORTANTTIP! You’ll probably have a large group with you, have drinks flowing into the room, and you’ll probably not be in the clearest of mathematical talents at the end of the night, so I suggest you’ll want to determine the splitting of the check methodology PRE– intoxicated singing. I recommend everyone splits the room bill(whether they sing or watch), and then have everyone count what they drink and pay their own. Rock on. Sing out. and show us what you’re workin with!

I wish I could give more stars because my friends and I had a really great time here last night, but in retrospect there are some pretty big negatives about the place. I will start off saying that the employees were helpful and allowed us to change our reservation from the larger room to a smaller one after several people canceled on the group. They also came by on the regular to take drink orders and gave us a new mic when one friend got carried away and stepped on the cord, yanking it from the handset. The seating was pretty comfortable too. But the song selection was less than amazing and the lists of available songs were in alphabetical order by SONGTITLE, not artist. This made it difficult for me to find what I was looking for because my powers of memory do not do well with song titles. Also, it got very warm in our room by the end of our reserved time(probably because we were all dancing around like fools) so ventilation could be improved. The remote to queue your song requests was also strange and a challenge to use. It would also be nice if they offered pitchers of beer or a bucket or something conducive to group drinking. I recommend to pre-game either at home or nearby because the beers did seem pretty steep — and most of us need a little Liquid Courage to karaōke. I do, at least.

So there are times I make promises that are nearly impossible to keep. I promised my late night karaōke friend a night on the microphone. Then other things came up and we ended up at a party until 1:45. Our usual haunt, Christina’s Place, was still open when we left the party; but by this point we were both overwhelmed with the urge not to share the mic with untalented strangers at the end of the night. We barely found the singing portion of this place through a darkened door after first stopping in the eating portion and seeing no karaōke(it should maybe be called Karaōke/Restaurant); but the staff let us in and the impossible promise — uninterrupted karaōke at 3:45 a.m. was kept(apparently it was a slow Saturday night or they changed the hours; they closed at 5:00 a.m.). This was a perfect place. Karaōke until almost the time the sun arises in private rooms(our smaller room was $ 28.00 at this point in the night and worth every penny). The amount of privacy that was actually provided let us both rip free of any inhibitions about song choice(there may have been a falsetto version of «Since U Been Gone» by Kelly Clarkson involved, but it was late so I may be halucinating this). This place has plenty of both great and«great» song choices to choose from. I was amazed at how up to date both of their English catalogs were. There were some songs we were looking for missing(including some big karaōke hits), but there was also more hip-hop and indie than I’ve seen at any other place. And it’s one of those karaōke bars with cheesy music videos playing behind the lyrics for added effect. The rooms here may actually be a little too comfortable. I was there with a platonic female friend but I just kept thinking, I wonder how many couples have just gone at it in these rooms encouraged by alcohol and sexy duets. The suede couches in the rooms have porno figuratively written all over them. Especially at 4:00 a.m. on a Saturday.
