I’ve only been here twice, once in the early afternoon and again late evening. Their bloody marys and lavender g&t are pretty damn great. Their fish tacos were only sub par, unfortunately. The second time I went in was for a lighter lunch and was less upset about their mediocre fish tacos. I can see this being a good spot for me after work. Service 5⁄5 for sure!

Love this bar! If you’re looking for an affordable and chill place to hang out w/friends, this is your place. They have amazing happy hour deals(the best I’ve seen in Chicago) AND a jukebox(um just my favorite thing ever). Perfect in the summer too when the windows are up!

Strictly a little neighborhood joint as it is pretty much tucked away in a residential area on a dead end street. Not sure if I would have know of its existence had me and my buddy were not walking around after dinner @ Gus’ Chicken. We stopped in for a quick drink or few and it was pretty cool. I had a couple of Hacker Pschorr beers and a filthy dirty martini in which my server Miguel made sure was done the right way. Everyone here seemed to be having a great time and the music was rocking as they had one of those digital jukeboxes. My highlight of my experience here was some drunk patron selecting«Still A Bitch» — Lil Troy(from«Wanna Be a Baller» fame). I assume he was sending his ex a message LOL. I would definitely stop in here if nearby… cool spot!

I’m really bored with chicken but the lemon wine and capers chicken has got to be the best chicken dish I’ve had since I can remember, and I am an old dude. The waitress was a real gem. The cook was grumpy but all good cooks are grumpy.

This bar is one of the best local gems in the neighborhood. Wine-sday Wednesdays(I think that’s what they call it) is the best — the will let you take the rest of the bottle of wine home with their custom wine stopper. The food is always well-made and the service always so warm and friendly. I will always come here when I need a little slice of humble homefries.

I absolutely love this bar and it is definitely my favorite in Chicago. I came to know of the bar while living nearby. I have since moved away out-of-state, and every time I go home to Chicago, I must stop by Jtap. Great service. Amazing food no matter what time of day. It probably does have the best bar food in my opinion. Can’t get enough of the waffle fries, tots and wings(with the sweet /spicy sauce).

Favorite neighborhood bar ever. Great food and drinks in a cool place. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The wings are some of the best and the Chihuahua burrito is awesome.

Not great, it’s your average bar has a cool feel to the place. Food was what you would expect from a bar, drinks the same. Service was only ok. I really want to say something good about this place but it leaves you walking away just saying«meh that was ok don’t know if I would go back». I believe a community of people call this place home and that’s why it stays in good graces.

I went to this bar to meet a friend. It ended up being a great neighborhood meetup spot, and met some solid business contacts just hanging out there. The prices were reasonable, and the service was quick.

Right down the street from me, so convenient place to go grab a beer after work or while heading out somewhere else on a weekend. So-so beer list — usually have 1IPA on tap, 1 stout on tap, 1 porter on tap and a few lagers. Decent selections, but nothing I can’t find elsewhere. A few more choices in bottles. Food is pretty standard bar fare — I wouldn’t call it a gastropub — decent nachos, etc., about what you would get at most bars. It’s a decent go-to as my local option, but I can walk two blocks further to Randolph and find some much more amazing places.

Bells rotational on tap, plus solid food. Great neighborhood bar if you’re close by and GREAT for sports, not too busy as its out the way a little so you can always get a table. The wait staff work their bums off, especially our Asian ‘Merican waitress always does. Good bar to make your regular watering hole #lovemylocalpub!

My girlfriend lives right next to this place so this is her usual spot. They have a patio, good drink specials, good food and all the staff is great! If you’re around the area you should defiantly stop in for an app and drinks!

This is a nice little neighborhood bar that my friend and I stumbled upon as we were waiting for his Amtrak train. This place has a really great sporty vibe that was enhanced by the continuous 90’s songs that played throughout the night. The crowd was small but everyone was mostly sitting at the bar and were having a good time chatting it up on a late Tuesday night. My friend and I split a burger and fries and while it wasn’t anything special, it was spot on and tasty. I would definitely come again if I was ever in the area and looking for a chill atmosphere to catch up with friends or grab a drink or two time waiting for the train.

I come here often. I like this place. Food is good for the most part, except the awful greasy tortilla chips. Yuck. But stuff like the pita pizza is good. Smaller selection of beers. It’s just a simple pace to hang and chill now and then.

Nice, fun, relaxing. We went here on a Friday after work and when I walked in, it was nice to see a number of tables. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. If you are looking for a relaxing, laid back evening that is not too loud, Jefferson Tap has it all.

A great little bar and restaurant tucked away from the madding crowds and the douchery of the Loop. It’s right around the corner from my office, so it has become a frequent destination for weekday lunches or quick happy hours. It’s also a good place to watch games, as there are plenty of TVs. That said, the TVs(or the fans watching them) don’t dominate the space. I even opted to bring my parents here one Friday night to watch a baseball game, after striking out at a few River North places that were filled with drunkenly loud young professionals and blaring techno music at 5 p.m. The menu offers standard pub fare — salads, burgers, sandwiches, fried pickles — but everything I’ve had has been above average. I particularly like the grilled cheese(you can pick your cheeses from a selection of six and add things like avocado or tomato) and the chicken avocado wrap, which is like the world’s tastiest quesadilla. Service is quick and casual, and the craft beers on tap change frequently for the beer snobs among us. They have decent happy-hour drink specials on wine, beer and booze, and their food prices aren’t too bad either, especially for downtown-adjacent. It’s a little hard to find(at a dead end, with no real sign), but I advise heading to the northernmost end of Jefferson to check out this unassuming and comfortable place.

Great neighborhood bar, West Loopers! Hubby and I went last Saturday and it was exactly what we needed. The menu had so many options and was very reasonably priced. The drinks were strong and good :) I loved the décor of the bar(very neighborhood-y) and it looks like it has a patio! Whoop! The dessert cookie was out of control. It was incredible. I wanted to eat it all, but I was able to take it home at least ! We’ll be back!

Really good, solid neighborhood bar. No pretention. Good strong cocktails and fine(though not gourmet) beer assortment. This is a really comfortable place and a great after work meeting place. Food is good — nothing special but above average bar food. I spend a lot of time in meetings at Conference Room J, since my office is right around the corner. Nothing like a 3pm meeting with a couple of beers to really get the creative juices flowing.
