I ordered the catfish dinner with French fries. The fish was fried golden brown and was very crisp and fresh. The wait time was short and the restaurant was clean. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Stopped by today to pick up some wings. The store only had one customer waiting. I thought I would be in and out. Unfortunately I was there longer than expected. When the lady who came in after me got her food first, I was a little irritated. When I inquired about my order the guy behind the counter was less than friendly. I was not happy about his reaction. My first thought was never again. When i got home I was shocked. The chicken wings were fantastic. They were seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. I can overlook the wait and the attitude for great food!!!

I’ve been coming here since forever and now they moved to a lot across from their old spot and it’s all high tech!
The new spot has large l.e.d. screens that showed the menu so nice and clear like. No more handwritten signs with the fluctuating price of catfish.
The service is great as usual, with the creepy man staring at me the whole time I’m there (I only come to this place once a year and the same man creepily stares at me every time). The fish is always fried just right, never overcooked, with just enough fries and bread… and my favorite, cole slaw. Mmmmmm, so happy to have a taste of this every time I come back to Chicago, but happy I can’t eat this fried food all the time!

J and J’s Fish is a pretty good fast fried food stand.
It offers fish and shrimp, along with wings and other such goodies. J and J’s is still going strong despite the closing of several of the local restaurants along Stony near 87th Street. It delivers a decent product with good portions.
J and J’s is good. It makes and serves good fish, shrimp and wings. It is one of a dwindling number of alternative places to find food near 87th and Stony Island.

Seriously, they have THE BEST chicken wings in the city! I will put them up against Harold’s any day of the week! The wings are reasonably priced and the service is super quick. Call ahead and if they tell you it will be ready in 10 minutes — it’s ready in 10 minutes.
