First and foremost. There food is excellent. Their food is superb. Good night it was so good! However. They only had jerk chicken. Nothing else. Customer service? Not sure they heard of it. But let me say. The food was very good. Very good. Rice was excellent. Service was not.

Went there last night 8−27−15. No Red Snapper No Jerk Tacos, No dark meat(Chicken) No greens, No bread with the orders(EVER) & diffinitly no good customer service. That same lady is so unpolite to all customers. It seems like she hates her job and does not want to work there, well why are you there taking orders and making ugly faces? Geezzzz Now that Kingston Jerk is closed on 95th in Beverly I have no choice but to go here, but never again, I’m sure they will be closing soon with the way they operate…

I’ve been here twice and both times they were out of what I wanted. The first time they were out of the jerk chicken salads, they had no greens, no yams and no jerk shrimp. The second time I went they were out of the greens, the jerk shrimp and jerk sauce. How can a jerk chicken restaurant run out of jerk sauce? The food I did get was good, however I will not be returning to this establishment.

I went there and I’ve been there several times for the stew oxtail dinner. First off let me say when I called in the lady was extremely rude and unprofessional and rush me off the phone second of they were really skimpy with the oxtails I think I had four or five and they were small I ate a that night and got really sick, stomach start hurting and hour later had to keep running to the bathroom would not be returning

Can almost feel the Caribbean breeze as I savor all the deliciousness. The late is a little long but the food is worth it.

Ridiculous! After 20 min, I will never return here. I walked out with NOFOOD because of these reasons: 1. Unilocal community patrons advised me to order 45 minutes +\~ for an order, yet there is no menu on Unilocal,no official website, nor a personal email of the the menu when asked. We’re new«potential» customers so how else should we place a pick-up order? 2. Why is there only one worker in the whole restaurant at lunch. She is the cashier, cook, and, server. Cool, but no one else is here and it’s busy. 3. It’s 11:45am on a Thursday and no more Catfish? Really??? 4. Okay, «May I have a beef patty($ 2.00)?» The response is «$ 2.50.» After IL tax, it is not that amount. I contested and was told, «this is how we sell it.» That’s illegal. I can do math! 5. After the horrible customer service, I took my $ and went to a nearby Uncle Joe on Vincennes and got a bomb arse jerk catfish lunch. I will try again, but«no» on that customer service and price adjustment.

The oxtail plate with sides of cabbage and red beans and rice = 5stsrs! Jerk chicken plate with sides of cabbage and plantain = 2.75. But I really like their way of cooking here, so 4/5stars.

Jerk is ok. I visited for the 1st time on a slow weekday to order the two piece chicken special that was advertised outside. The woman behind the counter told me nothing came with the chicken and was not courteous at all. The chicken skin was completely blackened. The sauce improved the taste. No bread slice given with the meat. Won’t be back. Mostly because their customer service was nonexistent.

We have been eating here since they first opened. The food is outstanding. And if you have to wait for your order it’s because the food is just that fresh.

This was my 1st visit and the food was amazing. I got the Jerk Tilapia it was seasoned just right along with the cabbage and yams… delicious…the only thing that I would change is that I called the order in and was told that it would be done in 30 minutes. My order was not even written up until I got there, what was the purpose of me calling. I had to wait an additional 40 minutes, not cool

To whom it my concern irie island does not intend to dis please any of its customers. Our customer service goal is first class or #1 to all customer, race, gender, cultures or national origin. we apologize to any dissatisfied customers. And if necessary we will give any disgruntled customer their food twice with evidence & truth to make them happy. Once again we stand behind our product and we intend to keep serving and pleasing our customers thank you!

This all occurred at about 815pm… Walked in… looked clean and the food area was darker than the rest of the place… hmmmm…I waited my turn in line and said«hello how are you» to the cashier and she just stared at me… ok…can I have a forth jerk lunch with with more cabbage than rice and peas… didn’t wait to long… got home and opened my container to a sad sad forth dark lunch with more peas and rice and more skin than chicken(ok my fault for not checking before I left… but hummm I’ve never checked my order before leaving a jerk chicken establishment!) Not returning!

If you love delicious Jamaican food and quality customer service, then Irie Island is definitely an establishment you want to visit. This is NOT a «fast food joint»… if you are a bit pressed for time, call ahead and place your order. Either way, the food will prove to be worth the wait. As soon as you walk in the door, the aroma of the food assures you that this location offers an island dining experience right here in Chicago. The jerk chicken is DEFINITELY authentic and the dinner portions are generous. When I order the jerk chicken dinner, I typically have enough for dinner and lunch the next day. The chicken is grilled to perfection(not dried out like some of the other establishments I’ve tried) and the jerk seasoning is comparable to what I experienced while dining in the islands… not just ‘hot seasonings’; the flavor profile is flavorful, spicy, and aromatic. The cabbage is very well seasoned and pairs well with the red beans and rice or the mac and cheese. My son(a mac & cheese connoisseur) LOVES their mac & cheese because it is creamy & savory. Also, if you like plantains, you will appreciate the fact that they don’t over cook the plantains. They offer a variety of jerk seafood, too. Thus far, I’ve tried the red snapper and it was quite satisfying. I look forward to trying the jerk shrimp & jerk catfish on a return visit. The ambiance is inviting…(considering the frigid weather, you can’t help but think about retreating to a tropical island once you step into this place.) The establishment is clean and contemporary. The food is fresh and the flavors are distinctive in a way that has converted me into a repeat customer. Thus far, I can attest to the consistency in the quality of the food and the service.

Stopped in one morning when they opened after visiting the nearby cleaners and being drawn into this restaurant by the aroma of Caribbean spices. The restaurant was very clean and the ambience was one of the best for Caribbean restaurants in Chicago area. We actually opted to dine in due to the comfort level and cleanliness. The food arrived piping hot. We ordered the jerk chicken wing lunch special. The wings were on the small side but the flavor was undeniably authentic and delicious. On my next visit I will order the jerk chicken and not the wings. The cabbage was so good I wanted to ask for the recipe. The owner was very personable and admitted when he first opened his cook didn’t represent him will but his new cook does him good. Agreed. Will definitely return. Praying for consistency as this was my first visit.
