This place is the best place ever. You have to ask how much hair exactly that you want cut off before you get it cut off though. I would ask for the hairstylist Miersa she’s a reallygood hairstylist and does my hair all the time. She cuts it very well and I shorthair so if she cut it badly it would show up. Fortunately with her this doesn’t happen. She has cut my hair many times and also died it sadly she doesn’t work here anymore so I would ask for Dora. I hope you enjoy this place also the reviews that aren’t good I would advise you to get a different cutter. I have been going here for years and I’ve never had anyone mess up or be rude to me. I think it might have just had a bad cutter. Overall I think this place is great and you should totally go here please me this is you as it is very true I’ve been going here for my entire life I’m sorry to say and I’m going to different place because Miersa moved and I had to go with her. But overall I would say that this is a great place and he should totally try it out!

Tim is amazing! I’ve been here twice, and will continue to come, to get my eyebrows threaded. Perfect every time.

I really wanted to like this place. They are very close to my future in-​laws home where we often get ready for large events. I had made an appointment for a mani-​pedi, updo, and makeup. Unfortunately I had to push back the time then cancel and just have them put me down as a walk in due to traffic getting into the city. They were very accommodating with this. My Original appointment was at 11:00am I told the person on the phone I needed to be out of there by 3pm so this was the time we set it at. I did walk in around 12:30 knowing that there probably would not be time for a pedicure and I was ok with that. However what I was not expecting was a manicure that took well over an hour. We did not finish the manicure until after 2pm which left less than an hour for an style for a formal event. I was also displease with the quality of the manicure that the polish did not cover my complete nail and there was no place to dry the polish so even after sitting and having my hair done I still somehow mess up my nails after I left because they were not completely dry.
The upside of this place is that I saw another stylist doing extensions while I was thre and those turned out AMAZING on the client she was working with. They also did not charge me full price for the mani and style.

Best haircut in Chicago! Been in Chicago for 2 years now, seen 6 different barbers and finally one who knows what he’s doing! Very friendly owner and very reasonable price. I will be coming back for sure!

Called to get a price, said I needed to come in. Drove over, sat down. The tech said she needed to talk to her boss They discuss the pricing literally five feet away from you! Then literally scuffed and laughed at my counter price when I said I didn’t think a color and cut would be so expensive! No thank you. Walked out.

I got my haircut today. ofcourse it’s good! I liked it. but overpriced.
She did shampoo my hair, she ddn’t ask me.
I had no clue it’s an extra charge, i thought it’s package.
So i said i just want trim and bangs. But she suggested if i want layers. I said yea why not.
To make the long story short,
The haircut was wonderful
PLUS: they don’t accept cards for payment! They havetheir own atm machine.
I ask why they don’t accept cards because before theydo. Then she just pointed out their atm machine that charge $ 2.50 per transaction.
Haircut she said $ 45. After I said «wow that’s a lot, are u sure?! «
After i withdrew some moneyfrom their atm machine she said «ok it’s $ 40. «then i said it’s okay. $ 5 is my tip.
OVERPRICEY!

My husband and I moved to Old Irving Park last summer and were looking for a new salon to get our hair cut at. Max discovered In Style on Unilocal and had a great experience and cut from Tim. I have been very happy with the cut and style I’ve gotten from Layla. They are both very nice and seem to enjoy what they do. We have both come back for cuts and would definitely recommend In Style.

I have crazy eyebrows, sometimes they have a mind of their own. Today, I needed to tame those crazy things, but all of the places I’ve gone to weren’t going to be open for hours and they were miles away. I decided to give this place a try because of the positive reviews and considering it’s in my neighborhood.
I’m so glad I did. For $ 9, I experienced pain free threading with no crying or sneezing. My eyebrows look perfect without me having to travel out of my way. I’m really happy with the service and although I’m not typically a «salon» type of person, I would consider finally getting a proper hair cut and some nail treatments for flip flop season.

I had been going all the way out to the ‘burbs to get my eyebrows threaded, and it needed to stop. It was just way too far to drive for something that only takes five minutes.
To find a place in my neighborhood, I of course got on Unilocal and did a search. Instyle Hair Studio is really close to my place, so I figured I would give it a try.
I went in on a Friday evening. It’s a nice lookin’ salon. It definitely had a modern, spa feel to it with natural stone finishes and clean lines.
There were no other customers, so I was helped right away. The guy who did my eyebrows was very friendly. I think he may have been the owner. He did a really thorough job on my eyebrows. Sometimes, you go to these places, and they are a little more relaxed and don’t get every single hair. Not this place!
I’m so glad I found a great salon in my neighborhood that does threading. I’ll be back!

I have gone to many I mean many different Types of hair salons in my life Cheap ones expensive ones if there is something I do a lot of other than sleeping is my hair whether it’s a haircut because of course I love it long or just a simple shampoo wash and style I go here see my wonderful Stylest Her name is Drea I started coming here only as a walk-​in searching for a new hair salon since the last shop I was at decided to chop my hair off like literally So my self-​esteem wasn’t quite up there Always having my hair in a bun or pulled back She gave me a nice deep conditioner with a wash blowdry and a so she calls blow out I felt like There is no way of me going home with my hair like this I’m going to have my husband take me out for dinner lol And the price they have is better than great If ever having a bad hair day just go to the salon ask for Drea The best decision I have made in a long time thanks Drea you’re the best

Used to go to a much more expensive salon and decided to try and find a more reasonable place. I called here on a Saturday afternoon and they got me in right away. Susan did a great job on my hair. Looks just as good or better than the place where I paid almost three times as much. Very happy and will continue to see Susan!

Mirsa has done a great job with my brows. The price is reasonable, and she’s a threading master. I’ve had her dye them twice, though once ended up too dark. I probably won’t dye them again, but she’s my go-​to for threading.

Drea is great with cut and color!!! Super happy I found this salon in my neighborhood!

Susan is a very talented stylist and makes the entire experience stress-​free and enjoyable. The prices are very fair.

I’m so glad that I found this place. Irving Park has a lot of barbershops, but not a lot of decent salons, and Instyle is a serious find. Clinton, my stylist, is incredibly good at what he does and a great deal of fun to talk to. I loved the haircut and the brow wax that he gave me and also appreciate that he took the time to answer my questions about some of the other services offered by the salon.
Service was very quick: My haircut (which included a shampoo and blowdry) and eyebrow wax took less than an hour. In addition, the grand total for my bill was only $ 45, reminding me of the advantages of living in Irving Park instead of some of the city’s more fashionable neighborhoods.
Highly recommended.

This studio was amazing! I was in a last minute pinch for a touch up and trim on a Sunday. Don’t ya just hate hair-​emergencies? I called InStyle and not only were they able to fit me in I have the most amazing color, cut, conditioning and eye brows! They are just amazing!
I was in an out in a timely fashion, which is a big deal for me and the price point shocked me — because it was so GREAT!
It’s a gorgeous space, the stylists are amazing, the price right — get in here today!

Very happy with this place. The place is very clean and modern. They were very thorough and gave me an excellent haircut. The price was very reasonable as well. They also have this card where your 7^th haircut is free. I am definitely going back here.

I feel like Debra Messing singing Natural Woman in a shiny new hair commercial. I am also astounded at how, well, bouncy my hair feels today. There is no other adjective as apt. I’ve always looked on with envy at those women with their pretty shiny hair, full of the right amount of movement, apparently brought on by their usage of Pantene, or some other brand. I am envious no longer!
After a not so great first experience, the owner, Layla, called me and very nicely asked me to give the salon another chance. I agreed and after explaining the issues I had with my first visit, I set an appointment. To be honest, I was still a little nervous, but holding on to the mantra «it’s just hair», I gave it a shot. I couldn’t be happier that I went back.
Layla was so great to work with, she listened to what I was asking for and made helpful suggestions regarding the color and highlights. She made sure that I knew what she was doing at each step which made it a much more relaxing experience. While shampooing my hair, she offered a deep conditioning treatment, and this is something I would absolutely opt for next time. My hair feels incredibly soft and healthy with a visible shine that I know wasn’t there previously. Also ladies, two words for you — Moroccan oil. Miracle? I think so.
At all stages of my appointment, I was made to feel welcome and as if my satisfaction was the biggest priority — and that was with other customers being assisted as well. One other thing I noted, apparently Layla has a great reputation for threading because 3 people came in during my appointment and requested the service. On a Monday night. In the rain.
While I haven’t tried out a hair cut yet, I would absolutely go back again for color. This salon is a welcome addition to the neighborhood and plans are in the works to offer more services beyond hair. Check it out!
