Love this place. We are regulars lol They have many options and also offer vegetarian dishes. You have to try their torta de Milaneza(steak) that is their signature dish. I love their carrots! Awesome service and lunch hours are usually packed but it’s worth the wait definitely a must try

Had the desayuno especial it was really good, the coffee wasn’t great but the place is extremely clean, tables and chairs are wiped out after each customer which is a big plus for me.

Delicious every time and they do mock meats for vegetarians. They don’t fry with lard so it literally is all veg friendly. I hear the steak is good too! The staff is friendly– always smiling.

I’ve been coming here for years. The food is great and the waitresses are friendly. The only reason I don’t give this place 5 stars is because when it gets packed the owner keeps looking around all serious to see if anyone will get up soon, so I feel a bit pressured to leave asap. Plus I’ve encountered many times when people get kicked out!

HOLYGUACAMOLE, BATMAN, INDIOISGREAT!!! I read reviews for this local restaurant and it intrigued me. So today, while out with my sister, we decided to stop by and try some vegan mexican food. It’s a Friday and Lent, so it was the perfect choice. But I didn’t know how perfect until our food arrived. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. He told us that the Torta Veggie Cubana was one of his favorites and he was right. I want to go back everyday and get some. Truly, one of the best sandwiches that I every ate and it’s VEGAN. I didn’t know that soy could taste so amazing. Major YUM factor. We also got Nopalitos con Panela. Delicious as well. Tasty cheese, black beans, rice and salad with the diced cactus and other veggies. We enjoyed the chips and salsa. My sister loved the roasted jalapeño peppers and pickled onions and carrots. I asked for a melon water without sugar. Sadly, it would have been better WITH sugar, but I am trying to do without. Altogether an delightful lunch. Can’t wait to return and taste many of the other terrific items on the menu. THANKYOU!!!

Pozole was amazing!!! Must try. Service was also excellent they let me try both the Mole and pozole before I ordered a full one. Orchata was good not great but the Jamaica was excellent. Fresh tortilla chips with good salsa. Highly recommend.

Nice little place to go for lunch or dinner. Service can be faster. Chips and dip are good but did not arrive in the 3 minute welcome window. Drinks did not arrive in the 10 minute welcome window. Food made it on time with in the 20 minute window. Great tasting milanesa and chicken. Staff is friendly. Will come back and recommend to others. 4 starts because of the welcome Windows expected.

We had breakfast on a Saturday morning, wait time was fast, service was excellent, prices are great. The menu has alot of options for lent, they have a good selection of vegetarian dishes. I was amazed that they have a drive thru and seemed very busy, I plan to drive thru in the future. Over all the food was great.

I like this place because they offer a wide variety of items on the menu for vegan and vegetarian people. I myself am a meat eater but my husband prefers to avoid meat. Their tufu food tacos are actually pretty good. They are on the average price range. If your trying to eat healthy they do have options like a bowl of fresh fruit cut up. They also offer special blended juices that have vegetables in them if you like that sort of drink. They also have a convenient drive thru order which is nice because you get your order right away. I have had some of the meatless options which turn out to be pretty good. I think in my opinion their meat options are better. But if you’re going with a group of people that cannot eat meat this is definitely a place to visit.

Why?! I loved this place, you guys! I really did. It’s hard finding good meatless options in the area and I was sure I’d struck gold. The soy tacos are great. Al Pastor, Tinga and Pollo were my personal favorites. Their agua de Jamaica was a little too sweet for my taste but watered down it was great. Also, the serving was huge so I felt like I had 64 ounces(with it being watered down; not complaining). It was all good until I got up to pay one day and I saw the busboy clear some tables and take the dishes behind the counter. No big deal! Then I saw him grab the the salsa that was just on the table and pour it into a big container. He did the same with the three little salsa containers(the black ones that they bring out with the chips) and left it on the prep table in the kitchen. Curious to see what was to be done with that leftover salsa, the one that the previous guests had JUST(double) dipped their chips into, I lingered around. I wasted time, made small talk with the cashier, inquired about their dessert options… That’s when I saw it! One of the taqueros reused the salsa and packed it in to-go containers. Other workers noticed my shocked and disgusted face and nudged the guy to take the big container of used salsa toward the back but the guy that did it smirked and walked away. The damage was done. Not even their great tasting tacos could save their total disregard for food sanitation. Listen, I’ve worked at a Mexican restaurant. I understand that many people don’t finish or just taste the salsa that’s brought to the table and leave it, meaning throwing it out is wasteful BUT saving it? That isn’t a way to run a restaurant. If you’re worried about that then don’t fill the containers to the brim. Bring smaller portions of salsa to the table and if the customer wants more than they can just ask. You wouldn’t lose money that way and you’d be following proper health regulations. So sadly, I won’t be back.

Love love love this place! I only go for their vegetarian food! Place is always clean. Friendly. Although the waitresses aren’t always around when you need them. At least they don’t give you attitude. First time I came here I was pregnant. In 2012 and the service wasn’t so great. But as usual the vegetarian food was soo good! I had ordered the veggie burger with sweet potato fries. It came with a side a fruit . The Second time I came here I had the soy tacos de asada! They were freaking delicious!.. I’ve also had the soy chicken torta. Very good. Love the cheese they put in it! The torta veggie cubana I would say is my favorite torta on the menu! That Chipotle sauce it comes is soo good! not too spicy. . A must try if you’re in the area! I’m fortunate to live close by! ;)

2 soy steak tacos + 1 superman drink + 1 generous slice of chocolate flan cake = $ 11 and a happy belly! What sets El Indio apart from the many mexican restaurants here in the Southwest side is that they offer a vegetarian menu and fresh juices! My favorite juice is the Superman made out of carrot, apple and red beet blended with orange juice… it is so delicious! They also offer these vegan cookies that has chia seeds in them and they tasted little dry(what do you expect from an egg-free cookie?) but yet yummy. I’m happy that this restaurant is more conscious of a population in the neighborhood who are vegan/vegetarian/juice freaks.

This place is friendly on my wallet and nice on my stomach! Love the vegetarian menu! Not to mention they have delicious fresh juices and drinks! I like to ask for a half and half of fresh squeeze orange juice and carrot juice! The waitress are always very friendly and aiming to please!
