In Style Hair Studio & Day Spa

Tried it today for the first time. Understand, I’ve been going to a salon in Michigan for about 5 years because they wonderful, but it’s a 5 hour drive .
I read the reviews, desperately needing a cut and color, I decided to give them a try. I was surprising pleased with the end result. Mayra was my stylist. Awesome! I have very curly hair and I like it straight. I like my color a certain way! She was able do both. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly.
I’ve been to many salons here in Chicago and hadn’t found a «home» for my hair, until today.

I came in for a haircut in high hopes. I’ve read the reviews and thought I should try it. Plus my brother got a haircut earlier in the week and his hair looked great. I’m a simple girl who just wanted a trim. One length haircut. Easiest style of haircuts. My stylist must have really f***** up because after blowing my hair she decided to cut my ends all crazy and randomly. Every girls hair is precious and I cannot begin to describe how upset I feel. It took me forever to grow my hair long and for someone to fuck it up and be charged $ 35. If I wanted a bad haircut I would of gone to a $ 5 haircut salon. Do not! I repeat do not get your haircut here.

Absolutely loving this salon! I decided to get a last minute trim, and brow for my birthday so I looked up the nearest salon. Very happy to have found this salon! Layla does an excellent job on hair, and eyebrows. She gave me a very clean shape for brows, and was considerate on how I wanted my hair. Unlike other stylists who ask you what you want, and do whatever THEY want. This woman works with grace, I highly recommend her. Plan to come back very often :) !!

Layla and Dora are the real MVPs! I came to her a few months ago with a terrible haircut and very low hopes of anyone being able to fix it (Really! My hair was a hot mess!) Anyway, Dora did an outstanding job and worked her magic, I left a very happy costumer.
I recommended this place to my mom as she was looking for a new hairstylist (she’s a very hard person to please when it comes to her hair) Dora gave her a wonderful haircut, my mom left feeling a million bucks! Thank you Dora for giving my mom a huge boost of confidence!
I went in again yesterday for a haircut and ombré. I loved it! From the cut to the color! Thank you so much Layla for taking the time to make me pretty!
These ladies really do take their time, I have never felt rushed, even when they’re super busy.
I would give a 6 star!

I have to give credit where it is due and Yesenia, one of the hair stylists at In Style, deserves it and more. I’ve been looking for a hair salon that doesn’t break the bank just for a haircut (ahem, Mario Tricocci) and came across In Style on Unilocal (where else?). I was glad I made an appointment because I can tell they can get busy when I got there. Yesenia greeted me warmly and she listened to what I wanted and did a great job with my haircut. I’m the type of girl that wouldn’t comb my hair if I can get away with it and so I’m not a fan of spending time blow drying or straightening my hair. Yesenia cut my hair so well that my hair falls just exactly the way I want it without applying much to it (basically just comb it). Oh yeah, she also waxed my eye brows and they looked great. I’m definitely going back and Yesenia will be my go-​to girl. One thing to be reminded though, this place is cash only but there’s an ATM in the salon in case you forget to bring cash.

First time here, great experience and very nice associates. So happy with my hair. Thank you Yessinia!

Ive been holding off writing a review for selfish reasons but I’ve had a change of heart. In Style is a hidden gem. These European ladies are highly skilled hair stylist. My girl is Dora is great but the owner is awesome too. Take it from me a girl living in Portage Park, who felt she had to drive to the more trendy places to get a great hair cut. No longer! I always bring a picture of a hair style I want and I am never disappointed. Another plus, their prices. Where in this expensive city can you get a beautiful hair cut for under $ 40.00?! I don’t know maybe Europeans are more reasonable about hair cuts prices? I’m not complaining. But at these prices I can tip very generously. Please stay this way. Thank you In Style.

I live in the old irving park area and i wanted to chop my hair on a whim .l. i looked up some local places on Unilocal.I called ahead and they said I could come in Saturday afternoon!
The salon is very nice on the inside and very clean. The hair stylist talked with me quite a bit about what i wanted and then she did a great job. I cut off almost 5 inches and i love it!
I would definitely go back!

Had the pleasure of having Yesenia work on my hair last week.
Went in for just a trim and walked out with a fabulous hair color too.
Have received so many compliments since last week from others that I felt the need to compliment her on Unilocal.

In search of a balayage, I tried this place and had Yesenia attend me. My dark dark brown hair is very stubborn with hair dye and I’ve had trouble finding a good colorist to give me results without the brassy red/​orange undertone. She did a great job with the balayage blending, color tone, and also a hair cut. I was very clear when explaining what I wanted and she not only met, but exceeded my expectations. Thank you Yesenia, I’ll definitely be back.

If you want an amazing style, I recommend this place 100%. Excellent service with personalized treatment. Easy parking!!! I did my ombré 4 months ago with the owner, and It was incredible. Everybody have been asking me about it. It was really good. I came to retouch it today, I can’t wait to see the results, but I’m confident it will make me happy.

i love my hair in the process will take forever but my stylist did a good job of doing it faster. color is so pretty it gets me so excited. and the owner is nice too. found a place to stick with now.

Izzy Is The Best! No one could get my jet black hair the red I wanted & she did it. It took foreverrr but it was worth the wait. Her personality is also great. This salon is very beautiful & they do everything! Not VERY expensive either.

So this was my second time going there. The first time was nice. I went with Mayra– the Dominican lady. She was nice. Haircut was good. Second time I went– a different story… ugh! I had spoke to her on the phone earlier because I was attending a wedding– so I would be pressed for time… So I was about 10 minutes late, so she took another person. Ok fine-​whatever. But it seems like she was deliberately slow and w an attitude. The lady in the chair was ready to leave, but mayra kept doing finishing touches. Really? If anything, she was messing it up. Then its my turn… We are talking turtle speed. But I don’t want to complain– then here comes the worst part– I went in for a trim and shape. She cut 4 inches off!!! so now instead of long hair — I have a freaking bob! all the while she’s complaining about this or that… Safe to say– never again. I should have trusted my instinct of getting up and leaving when she was taking her sweet time w the lady ahead of me… Now I’m taking vitamins in hopes of my hair growing back to he original length…

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. I have been looking for a new salon after The Gallery of Hair totally destroyed my hair and I happened upon this place. Honestly, I couldn’t be happier. I was seen the same day I called. I was placed with Ada who listened to what I wanted and asked questions BEFORE she started. I had a lot done; color, highlights and a cut. I am so unbelievably happy with the results. The color turned out exactly the way I wanted it and the cut is so cute and stylish. I will continue to go here! Wonderful place. People were very nice and friendly. Yeah!

So it was a last minute decision to take my niece for a hair cut. I Google hair salons near the area I was in at the time and came up with this place. I walked in with no appointment and I was seen right away. So great with walk ins.
My niece liked her hair cut and she got bangs too, which looked great. The stylist did a great job. I didn’t get her name. Only downfall was that it was pricey. I paid about 40 bucks tip included. My niece just got a wash, trim, bangs and blow dry. Yes I understand you get what you paid for and what not but I usually pay 25 tip included and I have way longer hair than my niece.
Overall I like that I was help right away, place is nice and clean.

Older crowd. Waited over 35 minutes to get my bangs trimmed, which takes 5 min. The older hair stylists ignored me when I approached her to ask her how much longer while she was sitting at the front desk typing away. Not sure I’ll be coming back. They seemed friendly to their regulars…

After trying many different salon’s & hair stylist. I must say this salon deserves an A+.
Great customer service, attention to detail, clean environment, and most of all the final outcome of work.
My stylist, Ms. Dora was absolutely outstanding, Great work!

I’ve been coming to InStyle for a little under a year & have had some of the best highlights & haircuts of my life. My hair looks incredible every time I leave & remains looking that way for the remainder of time, until I return. I also appreciate that they are wheelchair accessible, even though the rinse sinks aren’t, because the chairs are attached to them & can’t be undone. But, because my chair has a tilt function, if I go to the sink on the end, we can make it work for the rinse out.
The stylists are very sweet & respectful of their clients. Anytime I visit, almost all of the clients are holding conversations with each other & the stylists. It’s a fun atmosphere to be in.
I highly recommend this salon if you value looking beautiful, just from a great haircut. I gain confidence rolling out of this place everytime. And I also love that my hair doesn’t smell like chemicals, when I leave. The place I used to go to, used product with chemicals I would still smell for a week after.

Love the place, love the spirit, love the girls.
In my lifetime I have visited more than enough hair salons but this one beats them all.
It’s always clean, it’s always organized, the atmosphere is friendly.
DORA is my girl, she does everything I want her to do, and I can always trust her on her HONEST ideas.
This place deserves A***,
