The food was excellent!!! We’ve been ordering from Kowloon… but they had a fire and are closed. Their food was dropping in quality anyway. So we tried Happy Garden… all the food we ordered was real good. But now we are moving to Schaumburg. I hope we find a place as good as Happy Garden! Excellent egg foo young… beef chop suey… won ton soup… shrimp fried rice…(you’d think we ordered extra shrimp there were so many)…and egg rolls. Great job folks over at Happy Garden… wish you guys well!!!

Awesome! So glad to find a good Chinese restaurant in this neighborhood. All the others from Central Ave. west are just«phoning it in» or catering to the rice — gravy — bubble tea crowd. These folks are fer realz: Pot stickers were big, hot and homemade-tasting. The Beef Kow had the tenderest beef I have ever encountered in a recipe of this type; literally fork —(or chopstick) tender. Wonton soup had a rich broth and plenty of meaty wonton. Service was fast and friendly. My only complaint(and most folks would actually find this a plus) was that the Beef Kow was about 90% beef and not a lot of veggies. But that beef. OMG! So the Happy Garden menu is now ensconsed in a place of honor on my Fridge door, as our new«go-to»

Simply the best Chinese take out ever… I live in Florida now and am soooo tired of «New York» style Chinese food… I loved the place when it was Lucky House and still is go to as Happy Garden!!! Pea Pod Beef my favorite!!!

We have been ordering from them since they opened in the ’70’s when it was named Lucky House Chop Suey. Staff is very nice and delivery is prompt except if they are swamped. Food is good. Great mom & pop place! Customer 4life!

Promptly answered the phone. Said it would be 10 minutes to pick up or an hour for delivery, busy because of Valentine’s Day. We opted to pick up. Woman was polite and store is extremely clean. All white in fact. Food was just average though. Did it have anything to do with VDay. I don’t know. It was my first time. Will try once more.

This is your basic, local Chinese place. It’s good but nothing to write home about. The egg rolls are not good. They’re tasteless and pretty greasy. They are pretty fast, so there’s that.

Just moved to the area and tried this place last night. Safe to say we now have a go to Chinese restaurant. This place is delicious and reasonable.

Vegetable chopsuey was really good, also veggie fried rice had huge chunks of broccoli and other scrumptious veggies. only thing to complain about was how long i waited for my order. Someone came in to order food while i already waited 20 min and her food came out about 10 minutes before mine? I guess they dont like fat guys in little clothes

My neighborhood favorite. I can only speak for their carryout, as I’ve never used their delivery as they’re so close to me. They are closed on Mondays, fyi. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and orders are always ready when they say they’ll be ready. The prices are beyond reasonable for the sheer amount of food you get. They now have a website where you can order online, which is a plus. The Orange Chicken is spot on, and the egg rolls are always delicious. The Cantonese style Chow Mein is always delicious. I’ve yet to find something less than fresh and delicious on the menu.

The delivery service(Greg) is great. I usually get the beef fried and beef with pea pods. The Mongolian beef is good as well. I have them add pea pods to that as well. The crab Rangoon could use a little more crab, but I just love this place. The prices are good and delivery is fast, what more could you ask.

Tried this place for the first time, and was impressed. We ordered takeout, and got Chicken Kow and Beef Chow Mein Cantonese style – that’s with the thin, pan-fried noodles I love. The good experience started with the phone call to order: a very helpful young woman answered and helped us order(we didn’t have a menu, just the phone number from here on Unilocal). Then when my husband went to pick up the food, she was very helpful with suggestions for future orders. She also let us know the egg rolls have a little MSG in them, something no other local Chinese place has done. I liked the clear info on ingredients because I have a severe shellfish allergy and I have to be careful. The food came home piping hot, with lots of crisp veggies and the pan-fried noodles in their own little box so they weren’t soggy. The food was delicious even with our request for no MSG and only a little salt. Thoroughly enjoyed this meal AND the leftovers the next day. I will update this review after a few more visits, but as for now we are very pleased to have found this little place and will be going back. Maybe tonight. ..

I’m going with a 3-star for now until I try them again to be really fair. I ordered the beef and broccoli special, crab rangoon and BBQ pork. I only had an online menu that did not have all the prices on it, and they did not tell me the total over the phone. I guessed at the price and did not have as much as I would have for tip if I had known the total beforehand. When I told the delivery man to wait and I would grab more tip money — he left! So I HAVE to try them again to give him a btter tip next time. The food arrived faster than they told me and it was nice and hot. It was a good amount of food for the price with the special, and it was pretty good. The crab rangoon was just«off» somehow. Maybe not as sweet as I am used to. The BBQ pork had WAY too much Chicnese 5-spice BUT it was saucy and not dry like SO many places. All in all it was better than the other places in my area, so I will definitely order from them again especially now since I have a full menu!

This is your classic diamond in the rough story… Really glad I came across this place suggested by my sister and I must say I was a bit hesitant because her and I have different taste in just about anything! lol I found a menu of their’s online somewhere– and decided to order my safe dishes as always! …Yes I have safe dishes– those that no place can really screw them up but if they do then they SUCK! lol… anyway I ordered Sweet and sour Chicken and chicken fried rice and chicken lo-mein and let’s just say this place delivered! Delivered not only with really reasonable prices but amazing portions and the best part… GOODTASTINGFOOD! There was nothing I was NOT impressed with the rice was cooked great had a lot of flavor and the lo-mein was really good sometimes you get a lot of uncooked noodles and just a blob of mess, this lo-mein was by far the best I’ve had. It’s making me hungry writing this! Lol The sweet and sour chicken was the BOMB! I was extremely happy I completely forgot to write this review! until I ordered again last night and got some egg rolls and man am I glad I found this place! it’s close and they deliver and the food and service is GREAT!

It is what it is, and that is why this place rates so high. Good food, Good Prices. Always tasty never a greasy mystery meal from there. The food looks exactly like it should, fresh and made from quality products. Their lunch special is a great deal. The half orders are inexpensive and perfect for mix and match. It’s very small but it is very clean and old school. Especially love the little offering shrine with electric candles with gifts of oranges & a can of coke. They don’t mind minor changes and they have never gotten an order wrong. I tend to always pick up and it is ready in about fifteen minutes after I call. The staff is friendly. They close on Mondays but the better Chinese restaurants usually do. Credit cards not allowed under 10 bucks
