Ugh, gross. The food here is greasy and unappealing… I had to take a shower when I got home because my hair smelled after eating here. We were in the neighborhood and didn’t feel like doing a full sit down dinner so we tried this quick serve place. I will not be straying from Greek Islands again.

Horrible. Ordered a gyro sandwich through grub hub and the sandwich was gross. The pita was Unrecognizable it was a soggy mushy mess that no longer made it a sandwich. I rarely complain but I did cause it gave me nausea. No offer to send me other sandwich and manger told grub hub no refund. Grub hub said the manager wanted me to ask for the sauce on the side for the next time I order. Never again. I’ve never heard of a dipped gyro sandwich but apparently that’s what they do at this restaurant.

Super nice and fast service!!! Food was horrible! I ending up throwing it out! The salad dressing was disgusting! The salad was not fresh. Family refused to eat the gyro. It was a complete waste of my money! Though the employees were terrific!

I like Gyro-Mena, but it’s better if you eat it there or take home. This last time I ordered delivery — chicken gyro, greek fries with feta and free fried dough — everything was pretty good, fries were TOOOILY though. Lots of food and there was enough for leftovers the next day. I love their greek dressing, I got that on the side to use for salads and was able to use one small cup for four salads over the last couple of days, so snaps for that. Negative note on the delivery — it was over an hour wait and the pita with gyro and fries were a bit soggy, everything was lukewarm. Cut down on the oil and speed up the delivery, then I think it would be 5 stars!

Ordered delivery. Ordered a gyro and a salad. Was soggy and super gross. No other way to really describe it.

This is my favorite place to stop in and get a Gyro. They are not the fastest place but thats because the perfect gyro takes time! I love that you can build it up however you want. They do not skimp on the ingredients. By the time I add everything, the thing is massive. I have tried all the meats and my favorite is the mix of the pork/lamb greek style. I have never had delivery so I can not comment on how that works, but given how long it takes while in the restaurant, I bet delivery takes a lot longer… Plan accordingly or just stop in!

I’m a fan, a big fan of Gyro-Mena! Or as my workmate, Joey Vegas says«Lets go, it’s time for Gyro-Mania!» I do feel like their pork gyro is the main event here. There are three choices: lamb, pork, and chicken, but IMO pork is the champion of all champions! So why, not walk all the way deep into Greektown? Toppings! I top my pork gyro with lettuce, thinly sliced onions, tomatoes, hot giardiniera, kalamata olives, and feta! «Whatcha gonna do when pork gyro runs wild on you, brother?» Fries are also great, and almost big enough to share… almost. I don’t share =/Remember to grab a fork, so you can eat your gyro down enough to fold it!

Gyromena has taken over as the best spot to get food after a night out in the UIC area. You can’t go wrong with the regular gyro or the pork gyro. The food is always on point! This place is a hidden gem right before the Jackson entrance into 94.

Giving them 1 star since there isn’t an option to give them 0. We placed an order for delivery and waited 2 hours. When we called to inquire about the status of the order, they apologized by saying there was only 1 driver who was delivering 30 orders. I’m sure the gyros taste great, but I wouldn’t know because I’m still waiting… We ended up sending my little brother to go pick it up even after waiting the 2 hours and being charged for tip and delivery… Should not state that you provide a delivery service if you are unable to actually provide the service… I would not ever depend on this establishment to deliver an order to you… My recommendation is to go pick it up or dine-in if you are truly dying to try this place.

Gyro + anything else you can think of + affordable price = best cuasi-greek food joint in Greek Town, Chicago. Seriously, in a neighborhood with 2 – 3 Greek restaurants per block if you only care about the food and not the looks, and if you are on a tight budget this is your place. The Gyros are better than in any other fancy place I tried nearby, the food is fresh, the staff is super friendly and… where else would you get a gyro in a pita rolled with Fries and Bacon? :)

I wanted a good Greek delivery place — found it! I got the lemon-orzo soup with and add on Greek salad and the gyro plate with rice. The salad and soup were perfect. The soup was still steaming! The gyro plate was really good. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the rice but I’m not a rice person. It was solid. Now, was it the best Greek food ever? No. But it was cheap and comforting. Definitely ordering again.

Love this place… food is so fresh and satisfying. Delivery is efficient and polite. Have ordered via Grubhub several times without issue. Reasonably priced and worth every penny.

When we walked it the place was totally empty and being 5pm I would have expected at least a few other people grabbing dinner(there was no one). My family and I overlooked the menu and approached the register to order where we stood for 3 minutes without being greeted or even looked at when there was one person hiding the counter near the food and 2 others I’m the far corner behind the register. So we place our order and he takes less than half of our order(just a gyro and potatoes) starts making it with his back turned and continues to run back and forth up and down the line not looking to face us again.. almost seems like it was intentional… then another man shows up(one that was in the far corner and asks me to pay. OK so as I tell him our order(2gyros 3 soups and a saganki) he looks at me asks if it’s for here or to go I reply for here and his eyes bulge out of his head.“is that a problem?” «No just a question… oh I see someone else over there now» … ok judgy judgy … if I wanted to sit here and eat it all myself what’s it to. you anyways lol. Now to the food the gyro was good very thick slices of meat but good pitas were a little greasy but still yummy tzayziki was yummy and flavorful, my avgolemeno soup I felt lacked flavor and saganki was good could have more. flavor but not bad by any means… Greek potato again greasy some had more flavor than others but overall wasn’t extremely impressed. Although I will say the place was clean … the service sucks and for service and lack of flavor on a c ouple. of my favorite dishes I will not be returning… back to windy city gyros we go for our fast gyro means and Greek islands or Santorinis for a nice dinner.

Delicious meat and good dishes equal a Greek goodness meal for me! My friend and I ordered a whole bunch of dishes for delivery and I found everything to be quite tasty. That being said, my main thang was the Greek Chicken Breast over Macedonia Inspired Rice Pilaf. The marinated 8 ozs chicken breast was so moist and fresh sliced up over the rice, which it paired quite well with. Greek food isn’t normally my go to genre of cuisine but Gyro-Mena may be slowly etching away at my heart. The gyros were great, too! They shove the fries right up in that bad boy. That Greek flatbread was enjoyable! I’m such a noob I had never had anything like it before. A bit of cheese on the crusty bread made it heavenly! They deliver thru GrubHub!

Saw them on Chicago’s Best while i was having a midweek Greek craving and ended up ordering the gyro salad, Greek fries and spanakopita for delivery… All were fine, spanakopita was the best out of the three. Definitely had better gyros in greektown, but to be fair I would give them one more try, especially for the chicken(the episode was covering the best chicken places).

First off: most pix on Unilocal for this business are PROFESSIONALPICTURES It must be posted by the owners of the place! Shame on you Unilocal for allowing that! My experience: based on the oh so fresh and yummy pix I saw here for this restaurant I decided to order a late night meal, it was digusting! Everything was cold except for the soup, the potatoes were soggy and gross like they’re week old! The spinach pie thing also tasted old, the spinach filling is so old and nasty! And also the crust tasted like it was fried in old oil yuck! I threw away all the food and only had the bread and soup although I was hungry :( If they don’t feel like making a late meal then they shouldn’t do it! U don’t have to send gross food for a meal! This place should be shut down. ANSWERTOMRMICHAEL M: the fries got to me like that I didn’t leave it until it got cold and soggy! And feta cheese is my favorite that’s why I was so excited and wanted to try these items! By the way I cook and I know the taste of old food and old oil! If I wanted cold and old food I would’ve just got something from my fridge! I’m so upset from the way of handling your business even more of this answer!

ordered the Chicken Breast plate. its served with rice pilaf. greek flat bread and a side salad. its pretty good! chicken was well seasoned. and the rice was soft with the right amount of flavor. chicken and pork mixed gyro sandwich. it was pretty hard to build my own gyro because they had so many different sauce to choose from and i suck at deciding lol… but i didnt really enjoy the meat of the pork. it tasted really weird for me. other then that. it was good. will come back to get their lamb gyro sandwich and other foods.

The chicken and lamb/beef gyros we picked up from Gyro-Mena were great — the meats and the tzatziki were good. I’d say the proportion of the toppings could’ve been done a little better but it’s hard to complain when the pita was stuffed completely full. Unfortunately, the fries were… almost refried and very sad, so I’m not sure if I’d venture beyond gyros next time.

We ordered here when we were lazy on a Sat afternoon. The chicken pita was delish The gyro plate was meh The greek salad was just ok. I think if we just got eh chicken pita and maybe a gyro pita… we would have loved it. Order that and you will be happy.
