Got take-out recently here — they’re close by but I have never stopped in. Excellent Greek fries! Large portion for a good price and I couldn’t stop eating them. They aren’t fancy fries, your basic diner/burger joint ones, but the feta and dressing on top are wonderful. My boyfriend got a gyro, I can’t remember which, and for the price he really liked it. He also tried the Greek potatoes and really liked them but I was so busy stuffing myself with Greek fries that I didn’t get a chance to try them! We also tried the Skordalia(sp?) which was okay but kind of lacking oomph. I’ve had something similar before(that restaurant only called it garlic spread so maybe this is a case of mistaken identity) so I was hoping for more of a garlic kick! All in all, this is a decently priced Greek restaurant with some solid options and delish fries.

Greek Corner is not a fancy restaurant. You come here when you have a craving for gyros. It’s as simple as that. The entire menu is pretty easy to process. You have lamb, chicken, beef, and vegetarian options which surround pairing them with feta, lettuce, tomato, bread and potatoes in some kind of way. I should come back for the chicken, but my loyalty to standard gyros and fries is strong when I rush any Greek restaurant. There is something about a gyros sandwich that makes me wonder why I am not eating them at least once a week. I like a side of mayo and ranch along with my tzatziki sauce, but Greek Corner does not offer them. I didn’t get too worked up, but I needed an extra tzatziki for the fries. I’m not a fan of the fact that they charge for it either. The pita bread is the perfect texture: crispy on the outside, with a chewy center. The bread isn’t dry and that speaks volumes when I’m missing my extra sauces. My friend had the Olympic Gyros, and I almost wish I had ordered them. It was basically the same thing I got, but everything was tossed together and served like an amped-up salad. She demolished it in no time flat. Both of us didn’t really speak much while we dined. There was a 9pm closing time to consider, but we had also been drinking. Drunk munchies had taken hold of our bodies and it wasn’t going away until our bellies were full. I was curious and drunk hungry, so I ordered a side of avgolemono soup. Try pronouncing that when you’ve been drinking. I wasn’t a fan. Too much lemon zest, and the starchy flavor of the rice seemed to overpower any indication that this soup was made with chicken broth. I must say there are a few Greek-owned/operated 24-hour diners that make this soup better. I would definitely rinse the rice before cooking it, and then I would use mostly chicken broth to cook the rice and boost chicken flavor. The staff was very polite and they were accommodating to our hunger despite our late arrival. I tried to make up for it by leaving a tip. This restaurant is sparkling clean and that shows me management runs a tight ship. I can’t wait to come back and try the pizza! It looks delicious. If you’re in the neighborhood, don’t be shy. Stop in and pick up some solid Greek food.

Absolutely the best Greek potatoes I’ve ever had! They are the most flavorful with the best texture. They just kind of melt in your mouth when you bite into them. It’s got to be a secret family recipe, because they are amazeing! Everything I have ever ordered from here was always great. Gyros, chicken, salads, all were superb. It’s all freshly made and your taste buds will thank you for it. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious & authentic Greek food.

This place was recommended to me by a fellow food group member. I was very disappointed with the Gyro Plate. The meat was dry and the pita was tough. The tzatziki wasn’t flavorful at all. I have had gyros in the hood that tasted better! Maybe I caught them on a bad day!

This place is mediocre at best. I got the chicken gyro. It was more like a salad on a pita. Not that much chicken. The pita was tough and not soft. The gyro sauce was lacking flavor. I thought it was little expensive. 2 gyros 1 fry and 2 drinks and it was almost 30 dollars. Nikos is better quality and less expensive. Also the woman there was kinda rude. We asked for some napkins. Her response was rude and saying that the napkins are on the tray and we cant see them. Our tray was empty. And we told her that. Then she gave us napkins. Never going there again!

I absolutely love this place. Not only is it in my neighborhood, but the food is of great quality and taste. The woman that works there always remembers us when we come in and greets us with a smile. I always get the gyros plate which comes with fries, a salad and a TON of meat– totally worth the value. The Greek fries are also delicious! My only gripe is that the place is cash only. Not a huge deal, as much of Chicago is, but sometimes it sways my decision to go here for lunch if I have to stop at an ATM(sounds so lazy– I know.)

I have always been a fan of Greek food. I ate Gyros religiously in college. The food is pretty standard. The Greek fries are good, feta makes everything better! Gyros aren’t bad, they aren’t stingy with meat which is always a good thing. The fact that this is the only Greek place around the area makes it a little more special. CASHONLY…

Made a second visit last Friday for lunch; much improved, especially when it comes to gyro meat… this time around, the meat was much more tender and I went with a #3(Olympic Gyro), which is basically a gyro with the fries in the sandwich but a small Greek salad on the inside as well. A ton of food for $ 7, and if you BYO, you get out of here for under $ 8 and the quality was there this time. On a sunny day, you are on the patio and you are getting closer to living the dream of imagining this being, say, the Greek Isles and you are hangin’ in Santorini with a beautiful person sitting next to you enjoying the fresh air. Worth another look. But I’m glad to be able to erase the memory of the first visit!

Is anyone familiar with the rock n’ roll star Elvis Presley? He was big deal in the 50s and 60s, and sort of a big deal in the 70s, I guess. Well, he supposedly died on August 17th, 1977, but I have news for everyone: Elvis is alive and well, and he works at Greek Corner. He may deny it, but the resemblance is uncanny. Elvis very gladly made me a simple chicken gyro with every little thing on it. Then I said to myself, «self, Elvis is alive, let’s treat ourselves to nice order of Greek fries as well.» So I did. The gyro was so full of chicken and fixin’s that I had to eat it with a fork. Very good and very filling. The Greek fries were rad as hell, and I let those bad boys last a couple days. It is cash only, so prepare yourselves for that. Normally this cash only business annoys me, but Elvis is old school, so I’ll let it pass. You know what you should not pass? Greek Corner.

Every time I come here, I am extremely impressed with the service. Welcoming, friendly, and they go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable. Went for BYOB last night and sat out on the patio with some girlfriends. Took our time eating and drinking our wine, until we were the last people in the restaurant. They were clearly closing, but never rushed us or anything. That’s always nice. I come here often, but plan on becoming a regular. Love this place!

Worth going out of your way for. I’ve been coming here for years even though I’ve never lived in the neighborhood. Makes my tongue and tummy happy.

Best Greek place in the neighborhood! I found Greek Corner 5 years ago when I moved into the neighborhood and I wanted a Gyro. I loved it so much I would go once a week every week. The food is made from fresh ingredients everyday, no frozen food or leftovers. The food is always hot and very authentic. The staff is friendly, the service is fast, the interior is clean, the atmosphere is inviting. The most heart breaking thing about moving to a new hood was saying good bye to my favorite Greek Gyro with in walking distance. I still have not found a Gyro place in the city that matched the quality of food. Anytime I am close to Greek Corner I have to make an excuse to stop in, say hello and get great food even if I am not hungry. I love the Gyro sandwich, Greek Fries, Greek Salad, Avgolemono Soup(my favorite when I am sick).

Middling greek food. Non-accommodating staff: me: can you add giardiniera to my gyro lazy lady working at the counter: no, I’ll give it to you on the side me: can you just put it on and charge me for a side lazy lady working at the counter: no What you got here is slightly above average greek food served with a side of lazy slow service.

Is this the best fast food Greek place Ive ever been to? No. Is this the only fast food Greek place in this neighborhood? Yes. So automatically they get 4 stars for lack of local competition. When a girl needs a gyro, a girl needs a gyro, and they got em! Also, the owner is a hot middle aged Greek Fonzi look alike. He took my order, and then sat down behind the counter and started playing the bouzouki(Greek mandolin-like instrument). And he was damn good too. But I digress… Along with the gyros also get the Greek fries(feta cheese, olive oil, and some delicious spices on top of a mountain of fries). Great place to get your authentic Greasy Greek fix. OPPA!

Had the chicken gyro and fries. Would recommend both. Not too greasy and the pita was delicious.

I’ve been here for the Greek chicken, and it’s a solid portion of baked chicken with a side Greek salad and potatoes. Another time I ordered for take-out a lasagna-like dish that was incredibly tasty but it was not reheated properly and cold in the middle. Most recently I picked up a veggie wrap — it had tasty grilled veggies and some meh rice. It did the trick in filling me up but for nine bucks I expected a lot more. I used to really love this place but must say it’s gone down quite a bit.

This qualifies, to me, as a «good food quickly» sort of place. I have no idea about authenticity of the plates they offer, but they also offer a fair amount of typical diner/grill sorts of food such as burgers, hotdogs, beefs, etc. The majority of the menu is Greek, but they also have«Chicago Favorites» I’ve only tried a few of the Greek dishes. The Grecian chicken everyone raves about is good, but comes out suspiciously fast. You can tell the chicken, although seasoned nicely and tender off the bone, is probably premade and kept in a conventional heater. The potatoes it comes with are also obviously pre-made, I understand this stuff has to be made in advance to some capacity, but it ‘cheapens’ the dish a little bit. Having said that, I understand this isn’t a fancy restaurant, so for what you get it’s actually not bad. The gyros are okay… I’ve had better elsewhere, but you get a huge serving of the stuff so your buck goes a long way. It’s probably sharable to be honest. As for the burgers, they’re actually half decent. Nothing fancy or gourmet, but they are actually grilled and they do it to order so nothing is pre-made and kept in plastic steaming trays. When I come here, I often come for a quick burger. Pretty cheap, and satisfying enough.
