At first site I thought Google had entered the noodle business, they picked a good font for their signage so kudos for the font genius. Anyway, this is a quick service, order at the counter kind of place but they do have a nice amount of seating available. I ordered the Singapore shrimp noodles lunch special which was only $ 6.95(and delicious) I don’t eat egg rolls(I know, I know) so they let me sub in the crab Rangoon which I appreciated. This stretch of Armitage has a lot of Mexican and Puerto Rican food so I think this spot could really do well for those of us looking for something else from time to time.

So for those that are new to the area or this place. This used to be the old Kim Long restaurant that had been here for so many years under the cover of funky styling. Now after the new build and the rebranding the food still continues to he top notch. I mean the food has such a great homemade flavor that you would think your sitting in their home. True earthy flavors like ginger and tamarind are just some of the items that will pull you into the Cambodian culture that they proudly represent. Just quick snapshot of what’s on the menu that I enjoyed. The egg rolls are hand made, I’ll say it again. hand made. That right there makes a difference for me. We ordered the typical orange chicken that was actually a bit more than expected, but not like your typical Chinese spot that gives you too much. The rice was fluffy and flavorful. The orange chicken was a huge surprise, it was in a light orange sauce and the chicken was coated just enough to hold onto the sauce while keeping a crunch. The shrimp noodle soup that I had was possibly the best soup I’ve had at a restaurant. It was light, but had so much flavor, and don’t think it was a cup of noodles. It was a healthy portion of shrimp with delicate rice noodles that was served with a slice of lime and some jalapeño for heat. It was a happy moment for me. Give then a shot… you’ll be very pleased. I’ll add more as I return to this great spot that has been missed for a while during construction.

This area(the city’s Hermosa neighborhood) needs more Asian restaurants. If that were the only goal of posting a review here, I would hold my punches and be more generous with the star ratings. But you who follow these reviews deserve an honest one. I ordered off Googoo’s Table’s carry-out menu listing of «Stir-fried Noodle,» specifically their chicken Chow Fun, which is typically made with broad(about 1-inch-wide) rice noodles. I was jonesing for the crispy edges when those noodles get sautéed. Hope was running high when as I was placing the order, the woman behind the counter corrected me on the pronunciation of the noodle as «fun» instead of «foon»(from Cantonese menus). But the first surprise came when I arrived home with my order and found the noodle used was the much thinner chow mein noodles — a totally different mouth experience! DRAT! So I won’t let that disappointment sway my review, but note that there is some miscommunication between the ordering and the kitchen. Luckily, both noodle dishes are the same price. Another surprise, but luckily NOT a disappointment was that included with the vegetable ingredients(sliced carrots and sliced broccoli — the Italian type most Americans know), was a small handful of «Chinese broccoli,» which has broad leaves and crisp stalks instead of the florets of the«American» type. This was a nice surprise because both broccolis were well cooked and properly crispy. There was a good amount of garlic flavor to those dark greens too. The menu is nothing that exciting or ground-breaking. But for those used to ordering elsewhere at Chinese or Thai restaurants with similar menus, the prices are about a dollar higher per order. And unlike at some(mainly Cantonese) restaurants, there are no half orders, just the one full-size order. Wisely for a neighborhood that may not be fully versed in Asian dishes by name, the menu has bright and tempting color photos of those items. I plan to visit again. But that next time, I’ll make sure of getting what I ordered.

They are so friendly, I walked into the store and they all give off great smiles, making my day. Food of course is amazingly made. They just remodeled the place so it just reopened. I highly recommend it.

Great new family-owned neighborhood noodle joint. The food is authentic and delicious, with fresh ingredients cooked perfectly. They have some of the usual dishes and some stuff you don’t see at every pan-Asian(I had the beef lemongrass soup, highly recommended), but all of it is far above average. Staff was super-friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Hope this place thrives and sticks around!
