It was truly good wood.
I just needed a ¼ face. They gave me that at a reasonable price in 2015, were very friendly and informative. They threw in some variety of wood to my choosing. They did tell me they deliver but was not in a rush so decided to skip the delivery fee but given how long it takes to move wood from the trunk of a Mazda to a rack, I probably should have.
In comparison I went to the wood place just north of Division and Halsted and was charged about twice as much and it felt like the place near Division was wetter, had less variety, and the burn rate was much faster.
I wish we still had a wood burning fireplace because I’d like to keep going to their place.

I’ve been getting firewood from them for years. Always pleasant to talk to, arrive when they say they will. Prices are competitive, firewood is great. They also do a great job not getting my apt messed up (and they need to drag the wood throughout the length of my apt to get to the balcony). Last year they even helped me put my new firewood cover on!

Big wood yard with a great selection of different woods. Very helpful and knowledgable group of people working there. Any emails I sent were answered extremely quickly with the information I needed. They asked what I needed and helped me find what I wanted, they even explained when the post oak wood came in and how it comes in from Texas. They also made suggestions based on what kind of meat I was smoking that day and turned me on to Apple wood which I was very appreciative of. I also bought a 40 pound bag of all natural lump coal which came from the Lake of the Ozarks. And last but not least, prices were very reasonable! Helpful, friendly, accomidating, and very knowledgeable staff, I’ve suggested this wood yard to everyone!

I have been ordering from these guys for years. This year one of the owners came out and delivered a almost a cord of wood, hauling wood up to my porch and storing some in the garage. The sweet guy even took my trash out after it sat on my porch thanks to a 16 year old who completely ignored it this morning. I will continue to order from them. Great service. Prices seem competitive.

This place is a mess. Prices started at $ 172 for a face cord in 2004, then up to $ 198 in 2005 and I was quoted $ 235 in 2006. This does not include a hefty $ 32 delivery fee that had to be paid in cash. When I complained about the constant price increases despite ordering in August (off season) the guy started yelling at me, saying he didn’t have to justify his prices and then just hung up.
