In town from San Diego I was recommended to this place by friends and family told it was the best pizza in the city. Indeed it is great though in my opinion a bit over priced, and if look for great customer service and fast services this is not the place to go. Pizza took over 45min for a small

Our server, Trey was wonderful and attentive, even though I wasn’t with the easiest of dinner parties. He made sure we had enough food and drinks and checked in on us often. The chicken tender appetizer was delicious, with fresh and moist chicken with a nice batter. The Caesar salad was smothered in dressing and I could barely finish the appetizer size because of that. The Fettuccini Alfredo was sub-par in my opinion, It was too thin and needed salt. The pizza, which is the main draw is exactly what most deep dish lovers want. The meat is yummy, the crust is perfectly crisp, and not soggy, the tomato sauce on top is well seasoned. My only gripe is what most people will love… it is dripping in cheese. The cheese is great, as far as cheeses go. I’m just not a cheese person, so I don’t eat more than a bite or two of pizza. This location has been pretty popular since opening, and I can see why. If you want Chicago deep dish pizza, this is one of the places that does a good job keeping true to the old school way of making a good pie!

I had a craving for pizza tonight and normally I get one from Gino’s East. If I recall, they really disappointed me last time because they’re getting skimpy. If I’m paying $ 25 for a medium pizza, it better be good. There’s always a debate as to which pizza to eat in Chicago. I eat them all. You have to give them all a chance and appreciate the differences. This Giordano’s medium spinach and mushroom did not disappoint. I used to think it was too bready, but today, the density of this pizza was perfect. What a welcome sight on a 10 degree night in Chicago. First time at the South Loop location. I’m going back soon.

After hearing mixed reviews about where to get deep dish pizza in Chicago, my girlfriends and I settled on Giardanos. OhMyGosh! We ordered a veggie pizza and a pepperoni pizza & I honestly could live off of that for the rest of my life. It wasn’t too saucy, extremely cheesy, and the flaky crust just melted in your mouth. Definitely a must try if you’re in Chicago

Starting from beginning to the end: Ordered a frozen strawberry lemonade which ended up tasting phenomenal(it is botomless)! The server was great checking up on our party at good times. She had a weird problem remembering our friend ordered a regular coke and not diet, but that wasn’t a big deal. We ordered garlic parmesan fries and bruschetta since we were informed our chicago classic pizza was going to take at least 45 mins to make. The fries were delicious and I wish it came with more. The bruschetta was more of a beautiful hybrid of bruschetta and caprese salad. It was deeelicious. Finally, the moment of truth– our Chicago classic pizza arrived after a 45 minute wait. The inside was amazing. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the crust which was a bit of a let down for me, but my friends and I still enjoyed it. There’s probably a better place that’s a hole in the wall. This place wasn’t half bad though!

Favorite pizza in the world. The buttery crust. The amount of cheese. The slightly sweet sauce… It’s all delicious. I can’t comment on anything other than the deep dish pizza and the service, despite having eaten here 30 times or so in my 2 years of grad school… I’ve always ordered the deep dish. The service at this location was great. I called ahead so that it was ready just a few minutes after I got there. My waiter was the bartender(I sat at a high top) and I can’t complain about my service. Could be cheaper.

We walked from the Hilton Chicago to Get his pizza. Thank goodness for the bar! We sat down immediately and got our drinks as we looked at the menu. We ordered the bruschetta and deep dish pizza called The Special. The pizza was good but not our style being from the west coast. The pizza was loaded… and I mean loaded with cheese! I love cheese but this was too much for us. Not our style but still good.

Visiting from California, I had to try the famous Chicago pizza! I actually tried Gino’s pizzeria in Magnificent Mile first and I was not impressed. I was actually really bummed that the pizza was nothing special… i had been waiting so long to taste the famous chicago pizza! Because Gino’s was such a let down, I was reluctant to spend another $ 40 on a large pizza. I decided to give it another try anyhow and I’m so glad I did!!! Rating the atmosphere, this place was so much cleaner, nicer, quieter, and just overall better restaurant. One of the locals told me that this is where the locals go to eat good deep dish pizza. The pizza was 5 stars! Amaaaazing! Endless layers of toppings & cheesy goodness. Even though it was pricey, its the experience and great quality you pay for. There is also a long wait for pizza but it’s soo worth it. It’s so filling that our family of 5 shared a large and still took home almost half the pizza. I had some fries while I waited. Really good as well. One negative comment is the servers at this location are not the friendliest… management also sucks. You win some… you lose some.

Oh goodness gracious, the best pizza I’ve had in Chicago! We had a stuffed pizza with just cheese and pepperoni and it was the best pizza I’ve ever had! It was cheesy without being too cheesy and the sauce was amazing! The crust was crispy without being too thin, and all together it made for an amazing slice. We were told it would take around 45 minutes to make, but it ended up being there before we finished our appetizer, the cheesy garlic bread.

Totally upset!!! Coming home from a long day work to a burned pizza. What makes it worse is that I called to speak to management. I spoke to Manager Steve and he was no help. I tried to explain that my kids had dinner and they each had server themselves 2 slices each so when they realized it was burned they where already eating it. sorry I can’t eat burned food, totally disappointed in the pizza most of all in their management and the way of his indifference. With management and employees that don’t care what they server and about their customers will not have my business again.):):

I’m from LA and this was my first time having a deep dish pizza. Wow! It by far exceeded my expectations. We decided we want pizza at 11 and unfortunately a lot of the Giordano’s close earlier. So we were lucky that this place was open till 12pm. We pre-ordered it on the phone because we were told it takes 30 to 45 mins to make. When we got there the host and waiters were VERY friendly even though it was 11:45pm by then and it was about time that they close for the night. We had ordered a large for two people because we were«starving». We had one slice each. It was sooo amazing but also very heavy and there was no way we could go for seconds. For cheese and bread lovers(which is everyone) this is the thing for you to have! I’m craving it again just thinking about it… lucky for us all, they do deliver to anywhere in the States! They halfbake it, package it and deliver it right to your door. All you have to do is bake it and then serve! There is no resisting it… I’ll definitely be ordering it.

Pizza is good, right? New York style pizza is good. I know that much. So why not try Chicago style pizza? The day had been a long one. It was about to end. The decision was made to give deep dish pizza a try. Giordano’s it was. I was almost dead at that point, but the breaded mozzarella revived me somewhat. After 40 minutes of waiting, the pizza, ahem casserole, finally came out. Yeah, does it really need to take them 40 minutes to build a pizza? I couldn’t even finish my half. Actually I didn’t even finish two pieces. I’ll blame that on my almost dying/falling asleep mid meal. Normally I’m sure I could’ve eaten my share. It was good. I will say that. Actually I’ll say it again. It was good. I’m glad I tried it and I could eat some more some other time, but I won’t make it a point to get deep dish every time I’m in Chicago. It was even good cold the next day when I was driving through the middle of Wisconsin.

Every time we come to Chicago, we always stop at Giordano’s and like other reviews, this time I must admit I was rather disappointed. Although this is the first time that I have eaten at this location, the other three spots(N Rush St, W Van Buren St and a new one in Schaumburg) that I have been to have always been consistent, but this one was not like the others. We always pre-order our food, so we do not have to wait 45-minutes to one-hour for our pizza. This time we ordered about 40 minutes ahead, by the time we arrived, we waited about 30 more minutes, which is unacceptable, seeing that they said they put it in the oven right after we called it in. I ordered sangria, which is a very common drink, although it was good, it was 90% ice and 10% drink. As someone who bartended for seven years, I would never serve this to a customer. I said something, so our server brought a new one, which was much better. The interior and patio on the sidewalk of this place was nice, the people at the front door were friendly as well as other staff members that I encountered. While trying to find this place, we asked a local. After telling her we were going to Giordano’s, she said to go to Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria instead. After visiting this Giordano’s, I will take her advice next time. [Review #317](Seventieth Seventh Review of 2015)

I have been a few times and it is just always terrible. Let me say Giordano’s is not bad, just this specific location. I went with my family yesterday and we got a medium pizza and pasta. We came in at 7:00 P.M.(Even) and sat, Ordered when our drinks came around. about 8:47 P. M(when you are hungry you keep at the clock) they bring us the pepperoni medium and watery undercooked pasta. It was so depressing. We really tried to eat it because we were so hungry after a day of exploring Chicago, and going on Campus tours. but, the pizza and especially the pasta was just too terrible. ALSO — The place was half empty

I’m from NJ and when I come to Chicago, I ALWAYS go to giordanos. I’ve never been so disappointed with my service at a restaurant before. We showed up at 6:10. The girl wrote my name down on a piece of paper and said it was a 20 – 30 minute wait. Then we waited for 35+ mins and my friend went inside to let her know we are outside waiting and the girl at the desk was totally out of it. My friend wasn’t sure if she even understood what he told her. Then I went inside 15 mins later and asked what’s going and then another girl was shaking her head at the original girl and put our name on another waiting list. I asked how long the wait was and she said she didn’t know. Then we wait for another 15 minutes and then a girl came outside and said oh our manager said its okay to seat people outside. And we said fine and asked if we could order right away. Then we waited for over 50 minutes. During this time, a party of 15 who was in the restaurant after us finished and left before we even had our food… And the whole row of tables near us also had their food way before us and even finished. Every time the waitress walked out, my friends and I were so disappointed. MINDYOU, THEREWERETHREEOFUS and we really didn’t order much food at all. We finally got our food 10 minutes short of being there for two hours. They didn’t even follow my order, I asked for a specific topping on top! And my other friend asked for light cheese and mushrooms! At that point, we were too tired and hungry to complain so we just ate it . Then we finished, asked for a box and I asked the waitress if she could give us a discount because we were in the restaurant for over 2 hours at that point and my friend missed his train to the suburbs. She said she would talk to the manager and walked away before I even got a chance to mention the rest of my qualms such as messing up my order, making us wait so long in comparison to the other groups. Then she walks out with a check that’s $ 5 off of a bill of $ 50. REALLY?!? I have never felt so disrespected and disappointed. After all that crap, they take $ 5 off of the bill and no one bothered to apologize? We ended up giving that $ 5 and more back in tip. I don’t think it’s fair that we were treated that way and at this point, I don’t think I’ll be going back because my experience was a waste of time, money and pizza.

Pretty underwhelmed with Giordano’s — wishing that Lou’s would have let us call ahead. The sauce is tasty and you can tell it’s made with care. The deep dish crust was bleh and really didn’t have much character. The sausage was bland and very under-seasoned. Would skip next time.

Giordano’s is A-OK in my book. This was my first Chicago deep dish experience, and I’m not quite sure what I was expecting. None of the flavors really struck me as being different or totally awesome. It’s just that the pizza was thick and cheezy – hey, I’m not complaining! I’d go to Giordano’s again, but it wouldn’t be my first choice. Gotta try some other versions of Chicago pie before I can judge. Also, if you’re going be prepared to wait for 45 mins for your pizza. I recommend the garlic bread and a salad to tide you over! But be prepared, because a small is big enough for 3 really hungry people.

I’m in Chicago and — of course — I have to get some Chicago deep dish. After looking online, I decided on Giordano’s. First, I was on my iPad and their web site was VERY easy to use and place an order. I’m a web developer and very much appreciate a smooth ordering process. Easy to order and made it easy to add more items to my order. It was also nice that I was able to tip the delivery guy using my card online rather than scrambling for cash when he got here. The site gave me an estimated time of delivery of 8:45−9pm and they were here(21st floor no less) at 8:30 with a hot and fresh order. Holy crap this pizza was good. Oh man. I ordered a Chicago deep dish with sausage, jalapeños and black olives and it was just freaking delicious. Perfectly cooked and I seriously cannot wait to have some out of the fridge late tonight! I can highly recommend Giordano’s for a taste of Chicago when you’re in town. I will absolutely be ordering from them when I’m back.

As my last meal in Chi-town, I had the pleasure in stopping by this spot for one last pizza fix. The inside of the place is pleasant and very modern. The room is surrounded by huge television screens hanging on the walls. On this cold rainy night, there were only a few other peeps. I asked to sit at the bar. Bar tender pours a cold one and takes my order. I watched the baseball game and could hear the rain falling against the glass window. Thirty minutes later the bar tender sets up a plate and utensils. I knew my order was coming close. Then magic, the stuffed pizza was placed in front of me. The bar tender cuts the first slice and places it on my plate. Right after I quickly digged my fork for a piece. The taste was all the same as I had remembered many years ago. Bit of nostalgia exploded. One thing I notice about Chicago is the ever lasting changes around the south loop. At least one thing hasn’t changed and that is the quality taste of my favorite pizza joint in the world. What’s even more appreciative is that they even pre cooked some pizzas for me to pick up the next day. I can tell they do this allot. Thanks for keeping it warm and cool.
