Galaxy Embroidery

I’ve used galaxy embroidery for all of my services for my motorcycle club from t-​shirts to hoodies, skull caps, patches and designing my logo. I’ve been doing business with him for over 7 years and would have to say he’s one of the best in Chicago. Over 75% of all clubs in Chicago do business with them. He does get really busy at times but will worth the wait. Overall all his work is really good and his prices are the cheapest around.

The worst possible service EVER! I put in an order for a custom vest and was given a completion date of 2 – 3 weeks. Several calls were made to the store prior to the date to ensure they had everything they needed to get the job done. They gave me stories each time I called. After 3.5 weeks I finally drove from Milwaukee to Chicago to get my vests and they hadn’t even started them yet. They started once I got there. I sat in the store from 1pm until 7pm. They threw my best together and tried to pass it off as quality! I walked away with a promise that my vests will be dropped off the following morning fully done. They actually cut the lights off while I was taking to the man at the front counter. They complained about how the wanted to go home, and that they did the best they could. 5pm the next day… No vests! Instead a bunch of text messages stating that in order to finish my job, they had to avoid answering phones to keep progress going. They told me that I would not get a refund because it was a custom job. Despite the fact that it was past the point of being late and they told me that I had to drive to Steak ‘n Shake in Gurnee Mills and meet his wife «Teresa» if I wanted my vests. He «Gabrielle» told me that she would be there by 7pm. I called her at 6:50 to tell her I was waiting in the parking lot, she said she was stuck in traffic! So I sat. Them I shopped at Macy’s across the street. Went back to my car and sat some more. I finally called her back at 7:35, guess what??? No answer. Called again, same thing. So they basically ripped me off. They took 3.5 weeks to do something that they threw together in 6 hours or so, turned around and took a whole day to run 2 patches for my vests and made me drive out of my way TWICE! The worse possible customer service! It amazes me how they’re still in business and had the nerve to complain about their customers. Told me that they’re cheap, they don’t pay, how they prefer to get messed over by other businesses offering the same service, only to come crawling back. Sad and pathetic excuse for business owners. I say, if you’re so unhappy with your business, have some integrity and go get a 9 – 5 like any other self respecting American! I’m a business owner myself, and I have never experienced the lack of regard for one’s time that I have with this company. BEWARE! They’ll take your money and blow you off until they feel like they have time to be bothered with us mortals. I give them one star because I couldn’t post this without at least one, but just know they don’t deserve it. I do feel that people should know how careless they are. She finally showed up an hour late. Just thought I’d throw that in there.

Frustration. My company uses Galaxy for uniform embroidery and company t-​shirts. I have been inside the store, which is complete chaos. I stood there for 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. There seems to be no order to their madness. On my most current order, I experience long wait times for email responses to my questions, then I received an email stating that my mockup would be sent later that day for approval. I never got it, so I had to bother them 4 days later to get it. Once approved, I was told the printing would be done that week. I hear nothing from them, so I call the following week, am told the printing is complete and ask for the total so I can get a check from our finance department. The guy says he’ll call me back with the total. Did he? Of course not. I emailed the next day for the total. No response. I called the following day. No one answered, and it was during their regular business hours. They have poor customer service and are very disorganized. The products have been good, but it’s not worth the hassle. Next time I’m in charge of our projects or need t-​shirts printed for personal events, I will definitely go elsewhere.

Poor customer service and will tell you one thing but do something else. I never received a sample t-​shirt just an invoice. I didn’t even order them. I went without for the event but that’s ok.

Poor customer service, wildly unprofessional, and disorganized are three main reasons not to use this company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
I placed an order with a man who did not show me a colors or design for a simple order. He actually put a piece of paper on the table with a pen and did not tell me what I should do with it and then when I asked, he rudely told me he couldn’t read my mind, that I needed to write down what font I wanted, what color thread, what each piece needed to say, as well as the size of the font I needed. I guess I’m an idiot for not reading his mind. I should have ran at that point, but I continued. Here is where the review goes south…
I arrived later that week to pick up my order two hours after the scheduled time and it had never been started. I was frustrated as it was a gift I needed for that evening, I drove over an hour in traffic, etc… Anyhow, the manager, actually the owner of the store asked me to look around and see if I thought her store was high-​tech when I told her a phone call would have been appreciated to let me know my order had never been completed. The owner told me I could wait until the following day to have my order done or take my money back, so I of course took my money and left. Really, just a nightmare of an experience.

After calling local shops (e.g. Things Remembered, All She Wrote, etc) to see if they would embroider an item that I purchased elsewhere, I was out of luck. I found galaxy through google and despite the poor review on Unilocal,I decided to try it. I emailed the contact email listed on their website and received a reply within a business day, stating they could embroider my item and have it ready by the time I needed it. I stopped in the store to start the process and was pleasantly surprised that they could embroider a small print on the item I wanted in about 15 minutes. The in store customer service was lacking, which is why they were docked some stars, but overall for $ 10 and an embroidered item within 15 minutes, I am happy.

So, after searching for a repeatable embroidery shop in the city, I came across Galaxy. I chose to work with them, because the location was fairly close to the West Loop. However, I was not impressed. I took a baby blanket and bib in to have my custom design embroidered onto. I had the design in Illustrator, and had my colors in mind. The guy who took my order did do a fairly decent job of helping me pick out the thread, but the rest of my experience was not that great. I was not given an invoice, or receipt when I placed my order, and was not even given a date as to when it would be complete. I called several times to get info on when it would be done and was told by the woman who answered that she did not know this information and would have someone call me back. I still heard nothing. So, I finally called back again, and was informed that my project was done. I went to stop in on New Years Eve day to pick it up, thinking that they would be open at least in the morning, and they were closed. I then wanted to pick it up on Friday, Jan 2, and thankfully I called to discover they were still closed? Finally I picked up my project, and over all, the embroidery is nice, but they put the design on the wrong side of the blanket. There is nothing I can do about it now, so I did not make a big deal out of it. Also, there is no parking and I had my door almost ripped of twice while parked along Western Ave. They just need to be more organized and precise when taking orders.
