Janna is by far one of the best massage therapists I have ever worked with.
As someone who is traveling for a living, its always hard to find the right fit when it comes to body work. Janna’s intuition is incredible, and I could tell from the very beginning, that she is a master. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for healing beyond a typical deep tissue massage. It has done wonders for my body and my psyche. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Why did it take so long for me to experience Janna put her healing hands on me?
I received a gift certificate and decided to use it. I went in with no expectations since I already have someone I work with consistently and thought might as well use it or lose it.
This is one of the best massages I have ever received, and bodywork is not new to me since I’ve been having it done for the past three decades.
Want to go deeper into your soul while having your body manipulated in a soothing and firm fashion? It’s as if you are in that state right before falling asleep, dream-​like but still awake. Whatever Janna did, it caused some internal shifting to occur, both physically and emotionally.

Janna does a wonderful job with her practice. She spends time getting to know her clients and makes sure to deliver the type of experience they are looking for. Getting a massage from Janna was a relaxing and rejuvenating experience.

The location is great. The space is beautiful. Janna is delightful and loving – a truly gifted healer. Her Cranial Sacral work transformed me. I felt new again.
Walking the halls (and riding manually operated elevators) of the beloved Fine Arts Building is an added bonus.
I returned to Four Hands for a deep tissue massage this week (January 2015). Wow – most definitely the best massage I have ever received.

I am writing this review less than 4 hours after my massage with Janna Childs. I am doing this so that I do not forget to share just how amazing my experience was. Without going into all of the detail, what I will say is that if you are just looking for a massage Janna can do that, and very well, but if you are looking for someone to connect very quickly on what is affecting your body in real time, go see Janna. We had a brief chat prior to my massage and she gleaned so much more from that discussion than you could know. She proceeded to work on me for an hour and a half. Near the end she asked if she could take me on a guided visualization exercise. I said sure, why not. I am so glad I did. In less than 2 hours, from start to finish, Janna has left me completely relaxed but more importantly with a new and vital awareness that frankly has taken me years to comprehend. I won’t say that I was not open to energy work in the past, but today I am truly a believer. She is more than a masseuse, she is a healer. I am so thankful to have gone today. If you live in Chicago, consider yourself lucky to have her services nearby.

The absolute best!
I am in fact quite the slouch… Not so much in my work ethic but in my posture. I have one of those jobs where I sit for hours hunched over a computer typing away like a fool. The result of doing this for a long stretch is a terrible stinger in my left shoulder. Two weeks ago, it got so bad I had to get some help.
I found Four Hands on Unilocal!They had, and still have, a perfect rating. I called and was fortunate enough to book a same day approintment with Janna at 5PM on a Friday no less.

Janna is a kind, gentle, and extremely compassionate intuitive healer. I’ve never met anyone quite like her in my life. Through conversation, she is able to somehow able to pinpoint issues that I’m dealing with, and provide clarity to the root cause of the murkiness… with answers I already knew. It’s like having a conversation inside your own head with someone outside of your head at the same time!
She has been the catalyst for a surprising amount of positive change in my life through our small number of visits together, and offers suggestions of things to try when I leave her studio. Taking her suggestions has had some really profound impacts on my life in inexplicable ways.
This, all in addition to a completely refreshing, grounding, and energetically balancing massage complete with essential oils that leaves you with a feeling of vitality. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Janna Childs is amazing. Intuitively aware and yet able to assist you in processing your stuff… spelled sh– -…in a gentle way. Her energy healing work transcends so many levels and comes from so many different sources that it weaves like a tapestry.
She can literally weave energy chords. She works like a maestro… what is the word for a chick maestro… maestriss? She is the maestriss with the mostiss. I first saw Janna for bodywork about 17 years ago and was mumbling about whatever misery I was into at the time and she told me that «it doesn’t get any better»…like Cher talking to Nicholas Cage in the scene from Moonstruck… get over it… candid…frank…yet caring. She has trained in so many disciplines and so many schools and with so many healers yet she approaches the work with such humility and with the famous zen like beginner’s mind that allows her to see what needs to be seen and to feel what needs to be felt. I know for a fact that Paul Simon and Edie Brickell and Sheryl Crow used to fly Janna to New York to work on them and their extended families and that she works on so many celebrities and musicians and artisans… but you would never know it to meet her.

I love Four Hands. I love Michelle. She is absolutely wonderful, down to earth, incredibly sweet and helpful.
I’ve been getting a weekly massages at Four Hands for a little over a month now and nothing is going to change that. She gives one of the best massages I’ve ever had. It’s not a surface level, poke and some knots and slather you in gross lotion type massage. It’s a renewing and refreshing massage that leaves you feeling mentally better as well as physically. I’m probably doing an awful job explaining what it’s like, but something like this is hard to put into words.
Basically, everything about my experience with Michelle and Four Hands has been perfect.

Janna gives pretty much the best massages ever. Really. Ever.
I walk out of her office feeling like putty. She has an arsenal of aromatherapy oils — each with a different healing purpose. She gives me a sniff, and if I like it, she uses it somewhere on my body so that when I leave, I’m surrounded by a cloud of deliciousness that fades away as the day goes on.
I get deep tissue massage from her. She also offers pregnancy massage (no aromatherapy for pregnant mamas!), lymphatic drainage, energy work, and of course — along with her partner Michelle, the famed Four Hands treatment.
The Fine Arts building, where the Four Hands studio is, is beautiful. If you have time before or after your massage, walk up the stairs to find recently refurbished paintings by the artist that illustrated the gorgeous Rand McNally Wizard of Oz series a long time ago. Offices have a plaque that mentions the notable artists who used to rent the space. You’ll overhear all sorts of musical rehearsals drifting out from behind closed doors. The building sets the tone for a massage that is truly out of the ordinary.
Janna builds in time prior to each massage to talk and find out what is going on in a way that’s not rushed. She is truly a healer and draws from her vast and varied experiences to offer valuable insights.
There’s super easy parking in the lot under Michigan Avenue. Park close to the Van Buren St. exit, and the front door to the building is right there when you get to the street.
She’s skilled. She’s professional. The space is beautiful. It’s so worth it to treat yourself.
