Flecks Coffee

Stopped by here while passing through on a road trip– great coffee and the friendliest staff I have ever come across. If I lived here this would be my usual spot!

Delicious coffee. I’ll be back. Can’t say much more, because they close at 3. The Unilocal listing shows a 6 pm closing time Tues-​Sat. I arrived just about 3 and they had closed, however they gave me the last half-​cup in the pot to go, gratis. Very nice people. Excellent coffee.

Atmosphere delightful, the food is great (depending on if the owner is there or not) the drinks are to die for. Amazing tea selection especially for the south side of Chicago, the coffee is better than most Starbucks. The lunch sandwiches are superb.

Got a great latte here a few weeks ago after an emergency donut stop at Dat Donut on my way out of town. Very pleasantly surprised! Nice little café with comfy seating, welcoming ambiance, and reasonable prices. My drink was excellent and there appeared to be some amazing looking biscuits cooking up behind the counter; my only regret was that I have overdone it on donuts and didn’t have room to try one. I don’t know of a lot of other good coffee options in this area, so I’ll keep Flecks on my radar for any of my south side coffee needs from now on.

Chatham, not my usual stomping grounds, but we were in the area, and their reviews were great, so my wife and I decided to give them a try. I went in and the server was pleasant enough. She walked me through some menu items, and I landed on the BLT and a white chocolate frappé. The drink was good, though a little under blended.
Then the 5 star treatment began. The lady who brought out our food was really nice and very welcoming. I felt like I was eating at my grandma’s house. I’m not sure if she was the owner or the cook as I didn’t get to talk to her as much as I would have liked, but she sure walked around like she owned the place.
She dropped off our food, and I really enjoyed my sandwich. It’s hard to mess up a BLT, but the bread was delicious and crispy, the tomato was fresh, and the herbed mayo was a really nice touch. I wish I would have gotten to ask her if it was made in house.
The décor was great for the area, which is another reason for the 5 star review. In a neighborhood that seemed a little run down, this place really sticks out as a place to visit. They’ve only been open for 9 months, so I hope they can keep it in such good shape, but I definitely wouldn’t mind stopping back in if I end up in that part of the city again.

Best coffee for miles in the area. The atmosphere is so peaceful and the people are real nice. A real gem in the SouthSide.

Rode pass this establishment a few times with the intention of stopping, but actually followed thru this morning. The coffee was great and the pancakes excellent. The place was very clean, with a suburban feel to it. Stop in, you won’t be disappointed, Mrs. Turner is a breath of fresh air with a lively spirit who greats you as you enter the place. As you sit in and enjoy your meal inside or wait for your order to go, you will before you know it, start bobbing your head and snapping your fingers as the R&B classics pump gently thru the speaker system. FLECKS will soon become a Chatham jewel. Check it out!

always a fan of a good coffee shop, and in some neighborhoods they’re harder to find than others. Flecks has everything for success, good clean modern look, great coffee, great menu extras like their food. Working in Englewood I still make the mini trip to grab a coffee from Flecks for sure.

I must say that I was pleased and impressed! A coffee shop on 79^th Street. With Fair Trade coffee. And tasty, malt-​y waffles. And delicious fresh fruit. The server was a somewhat timid college student, the owner’s daughter (?) was nice, and the cook was fabulous! I loved the ambiance, the music, and the idea. I’ll be back!

Flecks Coffee is a genial café located in Chatham on Chicago’s South SIde. I’ve been there a few times as I tend to walk by it on my way to the gym. The atmosphere is really nice. It like going over your wealthier cousin’s house, the cute one. They all treat me very nice and I tend to be quite persnickety, They seem to have found that nice balance between professional and familial, which is really hard to pull off. I always feel welcome, treated well, but without that tinge of condescension that so many merchants have, especially when dealing with an urban population. They are genuinely sweet people that look like they are strait out of a television show.
Most importantly, the coffee is pretty good, and I am expecting more. They seem to know a thing or three about coffee, which is quite impressive. I wish them much success on their adventure and will be back many more times, because it is just that kind of place.

I met my teamleader for a short meeting. Actually spent over 2 hours in the restaurant. Very clean and friendly service. WiFi works great, strong coffee and the orange/​cranberry muffin was delicious! The menu has sandwiches, salads and waffles.
This is a great location in Chatham to grab coffee and go or stay and read the paper. I look forward to my next visit.

Walked in today and it was their soft opening. They were a little slow as they were working out the kinks and getting things together, but everyone was friendly, especially a woman I’m assuming may be the owner. I’m only say 3 stars for now because it was a little unorganized, but the place definitely has potential. I had a carrot cake muffin which was pretty good. They had a variety of different pastries, drinks and sandwiches. I think it is a great addition to the area and I will visit again.
