I love architecture and who can pass up a chance to visit and photograph this collection of fine art?
Just be careful, all the buildings surrounding the sculpture are Federal buildings which means that you cannot take pictures that show the interior of them. This is something that is aggressively enforced.
Keep in mind that the lighting can be a bit harsh at certain times of the day. If you want pictures with no people, you need to get there early.
There is an Intelligentsia Coffee convenient located just down the street.

The Federal Center is a renowned complex of modern architectural buildings, although people being indicted do not care about that. The structures have a strict design of glass and steel by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, but the plaza features the bright red Calder Flamingo sculpture as the dramatic centerpiece. The lines at the post office can be long, but it does feature passport services.
